Obamateurism of the Day

Bill Ritter has never been confused with Arnold Schwarzenegger … until now:
President Barack Obama took some good-natured ribbing from the audience when he misidentified Gov. Bill Ritter as the “terrific governor of California.” For the record, Ritter is governor of Colorado.
Obama’s gaffe at a fundraiser for Sen. Michael Bennet caused laughter as Obama quickly caught his mistake Thursday. “Colorado, sorry,” he said according to a White House transcript of his speech released Friday. “Listen, East Coast time, it’s past my dinner,” he added.
Unlike Arnold, neither Ritter nor Bennet is likely to say, “I’ll be back” — or at least be accurate when they do. (h/t HA reader Ilsa Lund)
Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at [email protected] with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.
