If the "jobs" bill contains Card Check buried in the dross, then the Republicans need to hammer - and I mean hard - the fact that it's no longer a Jobs Bill, it's Stealth Card Check. That's all there is to it. Like Cap'n Tax, Card Check was so unpopular that the Dems dropped it last summer in favor of something "easy" they could pass, like ObamaCare - we need to remind them exactly why they thought Waterloo was going to be their very own Wounded Knee against the GOP, compared to the Stalingrad that they rightly percieved Card Check to be.

They will not succeed in their craven agenda. I think they have something very big planned for us because they apparently do not fear us. Someone said that we’d be collapsed from within.

Can we make it to November?

Key West Reader on February 8, 2010 at 3:11 PM

If they manage to pass it, there will be noway to get rid of it until Obama leaves office in 3 years. He'll veto any bill contains such language, and even if every Democrat Senator up for election this year losses, there's no way the Republicans get 67 seats in the Senate. If they can't do it in the senate, it doesn't matter how many seats they have in the house.

So now the Dems say the cure is "targeted tax cuts" for small business (never mind the tax increase from letting Bush's cuts expire!).

Republicans should answer: Dems apparently recognize they got it wrong with their huge stimulus bill last year....and now want to adopt tax cuts. SO CANCEL THE REST OF LAST YEAR'S BILL...use those fund for tax cuts, now that Dems admit it was the wrong approach.

Card check = CommunismGOP will vote against it and every network but FoxNews will report that the GOP is anti-jobs. Not one (but Fox News) will ever report that the reason is anti-communism. I take it back Fox News won\'t go that far but they will tell the truth about GOP opposition to card check.

I think all SPENDING BILLS SHOULD BE SINGLE STAND ALONE BILLS, so these slimeballs can't sneak in their underhanded bills, and then say the R's won't vote for say a Defense bill. I also agree they should be no more than 10 pages.

It is wrong and sneaky, "hate" is a strong word but I'm starting to use it more and more lately with these scumbag DEMS, and there is no moderate Dem. deceit is their middle name.

I am a senior and in my long life I have never seen a more despicable administration in the whitehouse.

Everybody wants jobs, right? No one would ever think of voting against a stimulus, excuse me, jobs bill, right? "Saved or created 3 million jobs. Er, wait, maybe it was 600,000. Um, I think it was around 1.5 million. Yea, that's it..." Dumb and dumber. No offense to the dumb.

If they try to sneak it in, Republicans should use it as a shining example of "The Machine vs. The People".

This is what voters are SO MAD about. A cunning, pampered, privileged plutocracy using their "isider" advantage to sneak through provision they KNOW the public has shunned. They do it with their pension sweetnerners. They do it with their pork projects. And God only knows what all was in the 2000 page health care bills.

Let us please refuse to use the term "public servant" anymore. They've all become "self-servers", helping themselves to our money while looking down their elitist little noses telling us what's good for us.

Democrats have convinced themselves that the only reason they are trailing right now is because they haven’t given their base a reason to support them.
They honestly believe that if they manage to pass this stuff, the country will start loving them again.

MarkTheGreat on February 8, 2010 at 3:08 PM
Of course they do. The new opinion among the Dems and their Media puppets is that they lost in the 1994 midterms because they failed to pass HillaryCare - not because they attempted it, but because they failed to pass it and "let down the American people". I can't count the number of times I've seen the talking heads repeat that distortion of history.

Do we really have to call it a "jobs bill" just because the commies and America-haters do?

Republicans must take the position that Card Check = Filibuster. No ifs, ands, or buts. Forced unionization = lost jobs, and jobs need to be CREATED.

No, not the "jobs bill" - better not to let the left frame it so advantageously. Stimulus 2 or Porkulus 2 or some such makes more sense politically and has the benefit of being more accurate because what they're talking about so far certainly isn't going to create any more jobs than the first one did.

This is just more Democrat rank ignorance at "work".

They seem to believe that businesses are impervious to economic incentives.

They campaigned and are governing as the most anti-business/private sector, administration and Congress in American history.

At the same time, they're pleading with the businessmen they're kicking in the crouch, to hire more workers.
