We’re REALLY bored by TV tonight. *haha

My biggest kick today was reading that ‘Notice Me’ Obama said cutting the deficit is as important as creating jobs. Well, if he wants to cut the deficit, he should quite spending so much money! And what he’s spending isn’t ours. It’s China’s, on loan to us.

God help us if they call in their markers. Maybe that’s why he did the ball game–a mini vacation to forget the mess he got us into.

anXdem on January 31, 2010 at 12:28 AM

His color commentary(no, that’s not a racial remark) was pretty good actually. Maybe he should resign the Presidency and just go be an analyst for ESPN. The country would be a lot better off.

As for whether or not he should be doing this sort of thing in the first place, look, I’m all for a President having a life outside of the Oval Office. But when unemployment is 10%, the economy is in the crapper, and people are hurting, image does matter. And taking in a basketball game with the VP and joining the broadcast booth on top of that doesn’t help him counter any of the accusations that he’s out-of-touch.

Doughboy on January 31, 2010 at 12:29 AM

I just think the president is a figurehead, I guess. It’s more about “like” than policy issues.

Defang him by removing the Dem congress?

I think people will be fine with Obama.

The one thing that could derail that? Some really huge leader emerging from the other side.

Not interested in remarrying. But I don’t really pay attention to the insults, so it works.

Here’s the key. I just note the repetition. That person is expressing something about themselves, not about me.

And they repeat it over and over and over. It’s REALLY important to them.

But it’s definitely not about me.

AnninCA,
So you vote your “great” state of California into a mess, then you move here to Tx, listen to a debate for Governor and you think you have it all figured out, do you?

And NOW you like the idea of no income tax after you voted the idiot into office that got us all in this mess and Texas not having income tax was a motivation for coming here?

What a hypocrite!

There is NO comparison between Texas and California…so don’t come here and screw it up for us…watch and learn. You’ll see how it’s done the right way…

And Gomer Pyle could run against your guy next election and win. Anyone with half a brain has figured him out already and the rest are just slower to grasp reality. Worst President Ever!

Whippet on January 31, 2010 at 12:33 AM

You’re applying Clinton to Obama. You should be applying Carter. He’s more like Obama.

fossten on January 31, 2010 at 12:20 AM

I don’t think so. Obama is more politically savy (sp?) than Carter. He is more like Clinton in that way, but, unlike Clinton, he is a true believer. He is without a doubt the most ideologically driven left-winger we have ever had in the WH. He really does want to change the foundational structure of this nation to be more along the lines of France and Spain. I don’t think Clinton wanted that.

One other thing, I was in my late 20′s during the Carter years, and the news media was much more moderate than it is now. They did not carry water for Carter like this bunch does for Obama.

Getting rid of him is not going to be easy by any stretch. It will take one tough dude to take him down; someone with the smarts of a Gingrich, the popularity of a Palin, the bulldog determination of a Rush, and the media moxie of a Reagan. I know of no one who even comes close to those characteristics right now.

anXdem on January 31, 2010 at 12:13 AM

Of course. I’m one who was really hit hard by this crash. I have to return to work.

No question about that. And I’m not exactly reentering at a great time in life.

I’m not complaining, btw. It’s just how it goes.

But yeah, sure, not having to pay income tax was a huge motivation for moving.

CA was a complete mess.

AnninCA on January 31, 2010 at 12:25 AM

Ok, here’s the thing, Ann. As much as your concern troll rants annoy me, as they do virtually everyone else at HA, I wish you happiness and conservative-style prosperity in TX.

anXdem on January 31, 2010 at 12:35 AM

LOL. When I was a kid, my parents would drive me into the City every so often. In the tunnels, there were these “watch for trolls” signs. At the time, I had no idea it was Ann they were referencing.

Disagree. Obamas MO has been to run unchalleged. This presidential election is the ONLY legit election he’s won. Every other one he’s gotten challengers kick off ballots and such.
Americans are on to his Alinsky/thuggish methods. Plus Americans are realizing the media’s complicity in his fraudulant election. He is doomed unless he moves right and acts like Clinton (which he won’t).

He thinks he’s a figurehead too, but he’s not. Leaders say two words, “follow me.” Obambi can’t utter those words and have anybody believe them because he’s a pathetic excuse for what a leader is. He’s a social worker and part time college lecturer, cum state senator, cum senator, cum president. He’s never had to create wealth and doesn’t understand how it happens. He spent his developing years out of the country and in left wing ivory towers. He doesn’t get it and he’ll never get it.

We won’t defang him we’ll defund him and come 2012 any yeller dawg will be able to defeat him the way Reagan rolled over Mondale. The socialists are deflated and defeated by their lying leader. The conservatives are fired up, angry, and smell blood in the water after three watershed elections in the off season.

Yep. Cut KSM loose here, and he won’t find a fox’s hole to hide into. Cheaper than a trial.

:-)

newton on January 31, 2010 at 12:58 AM

YES! I’m in Tennessee and we don’t have an income tax, either. And we do NOT need those people from the northeast or the west coast to come here and screw things up.

But the come…and they try…

ladyingray on January 31, 2010 at 12:51 AM

The blue-staters drink so much of the kool-aid then have to come to the red-states to dry out. After they’ve had a taste of the good life they start having their same old emotion turmoils and have to start dipping in the kool-aid again to save us from ourselves…when they’re only trying to save themseves from themselves!

Albany? Not familiar with the place. I’m more familiar with NY and Westchester Co.

newton on January 31, 2010 at 12:56 AM

The capital of NY.

anXdem on January 31, 2010 at 12:59 AM

Wilson and Roosevelt were definitely on the left, but they believed in America, and would not knowingly seek to destroy her foundation.

Joe Pyne on January 31, 2010 at 12:57 AM

I disagree. Both Wilson and FDR strove to drastically alter if not destroy the American Foundation that our Founders gave us.

MeatHeadinCA on January 31, 2010 at 12:59 AM

Yikes.

anXdem on January 31, 2010 at 12:57 AM

Don’t worry. If you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you.

Just have a rifle handy. And lots of moth balls for the perimeter of your land.

I think you are right. Seems Orrin Hatch had an inquiry about antitrust laws concerning the BCS. The administration responded by saying they had been looking into this since BHO was annointed.

I know Albany is the capital. I just never been there but for an hour or two.

But if you ask me about CT…

Wilson and Roosevelt were definitely on the left, but they believed in America, and would not knowingly seek to destroy her foundation. Obama, on the other hand, is actively seeking to destroy her foundation! That’s the difference.

Joe Pyne on January 31, 2010 at 12:57 AM

FDR’s second bill of rights was a direct shot at the constitution and the idea that rights are god (creator) given and not state given. Wilson was a nasty human being.

I promise if I move to TN, I won’t invite Ann or anyone like her to visit.

anXdem on January 31, 2010 at 1:02 AM

Guys,

I hate to interrupt this thread, but…

Did you see what Pamela posted on her blog just tonight? It seems Obama’s Organizing for America is trying to recruit a few good little Marxists… in a high school in Ohio. I don’t know but, for what it’s worth, check it out.

This could be big.

The shotgun treatment does not work well in a bass boat. My Triton still smelled like mothballs when I sold it.

After reading through over 600 posts, that got my attention!!
I know you didn’t mean it and took it all back, but it was sooo funny.

His second wife was worse. She was the one actually serving as president the last two years or so of his last term. She hid the injury his stroke caused him, which made him basically incapable of fulfilling the duties of the Office.

Thanks, I book marked it. I could almost see the Tycho Magnetic Anomaly, ya know, TMA, where the ebon monolith was buried in 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Maybe we can bury barry there.

I’m in the process of purchasing a single barrel shot gun. I’m in NY, so to purchase a hand gun takes over a year just to obtain the permit. I have two dogs, so I certainly wouldn’t want them to tangle with rattlesnakes!

But if you ask me about CT…

newton on January 31, 2010 at 1:00 AM

I take it you lived there. Not dissimilar to NY politically. Blech.

Nope. My husband lived there, though. He was taxed twice by the State of CT even though he was engaged in international commerce and thus exempt from state taxes. At the first chance he had to leave CT (when we got married), he left and never looked back.
