We’ve now reached the point in the movie when escape from the ship is within their grasp, but Borgnine’s love interest falls into the ring of fire.
For his emoting he now warrants the slapping.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made it possible, not the least of whom is Ernest Borgnine, while at the same time underscoring the importance of my accomplishments of rapidly submitting wholly unreadable comments which were — to the surprise of no one — lacking any substantive value.

Time for me to call it a morning.
I’ve run out of nothing about which to comment.
I bequeath Ann’s piemento spread to the commenter of the 1,100th comment, with confidence it will be more highly-deserved in anyone else’s hands other than mine.

thmcbb on January 31, 2010 at 8:57 AM

The Caliph has time to make it to a BBall game but……he can’t find a church to attend in D.C. for he and Obama 45?

Interesting.

PappyD61 on January 31, 2010 at 9:03 AM

Is there a show on TV without Obama? Jeez Louise.

Interesting Poseidon Adventure posts above.

dogsoldier on January 31, 2010 at 9:24 AM

Only 1100 comments in….but meh, this is about #781 on the list of things for me to worry about. The guy likes b-ball, CBS slobbers all over him. Nothing new here really.

angryed on January 31, 2010 at 9:31 AM

He sounds like such a nice reasonable guy, doesn’t he?

JellyToast on January 31, 2010 at 10:02 AM

Thread went viral early on, thanks to concern troll/slug AnninCA

OmahaConservative on January 31, 2010 at 10:27 AM

Wow, 1000+ thread about ??????? :)

Did you see what Pamela posted on her blog just tonight? It seems Obama’s Organizing for America is trying to recruit a few good little Marxists… in a high school in Ohio. I don’t know but, for what it’s worth, check it out.

This could be big.

newton on January 31, 2010 at 12:43 AM

Newton, I’m going to send this to Andrew Breitbart, unless you already have. Andrew needs a new site called BIG EDUCATION to out all the schools and teachers that push this crap.

redridinghood on January 31, 2010 at 10:46 AM

Wow… this thread got long…

MeatHeadinCA on January 31, 2010 at 11:21 AM

Next stop: guest American Idol judge.

When you’ve got the economy back on track and won two wars, why not?

R Square on January 31, 2010 at 11:27 AM

Looks like I went to bed around the same time Anninca left. Bummer. I can’t believe this thread went to 1000!

4shoes on January 31, 2010 at 11:39 AM

Anyone else wonder why the security issues make it too difficult for the Obama’s to attend church on Sunday but there seems to be no problem with him attending a basketball game with a whole lot of drunk rabid sports fans?

katiejane on January 31, 2010 at 11:39 AM

i’m getting ready to go to church and you Bozos are still at it????

redridinghood on January 31, 2010 at 10:M46 A

Obama’s Organizing For America is becoming entrenched in universities and are co-opting events, organizations and holidays. On MLK Day they had an organized walk through most of the neighborhoods in our Big Ten town to collect food for the local shelter. The buttons had the Obama-Pepsi logo stretched across an outline of our state.

While they were not handing out pamphlets it had the look and feel of a political campaign with 2 teams of 2 walking down both sides of the street knocking on each door.

They have also participated in the “take back the night” walks, and scores of other events but wear their little buttons to differentiate themselves.

Who can fault a person for contributing their time to help various charitably causes, but their is a subtle political agenda at work. Participation is not as an individual per se but rather as a representative of a political movement. The net result is to subtly politicize public events and causes as a platform for Obama.

R Square on January 31, 2010 at 11:42 AM

Here’s the newsbusters item re: how Obama is reaching into high schools

redridinghood on January 31, 2010 at 11:56 AM

what the hell? I roll in at noon and this is what I come in to?

I got a ‘Warning’ screen from WordPress’ that I was posting too quickly.
Never been accused of that before.

Tom_OC on January 31, 2010 at 4:36 AM

Well, that’s better than a warning from Bill Press that you’re smoking too slowly.

The Poseidon Adventure? Interesting?
Well, certainly you can’t be referring to my comments about it…
That would then make two firsts for me.

Tom_OC on January 31, 2010 at 1:38 PM

A marathon and I missed it because I hate to look at BHO’s photo, don’t care much about basketball and went to bed early for a change. That will teach me…Good job prolific posters.

indypat on January 31, 2010 at 4:36 PM

Obama needs to do more of that. And actually talking with Republicans. He needs to actually get out there and see what the American people are dealing with and see what they think.

Here’s hoping there might be a change coming. Doubt it, but “the king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD.”

spmat on January 31, 2010 at 4:40 PM

So it’s okay to have a blatantly political organization like Organize America recruiting in our schools (and with a ‘safe schools czar’ the word recruiting really does have two relevant meanings) but not okay for the US military to recruit in those same schools. Liberal hypocrisy in a class by itself.

eaglewingz08 on January 31, 2010 at 5:19 PM

It’s sad, really, that one, he had to have a scripted question to inject politics into the situation, and two, even at a meaningless basketball game, he has to lie. Nothing about his visit to the Republican caucus was about going to the right. He went there to lecture them about not going left.

I really really despise this man.
