Video: Crowder interviews Kennedy’s Ghost

posted at 1:20 pm on January 23, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

How would Ted Kennedy feel about Martha Coakley’s constant reference to the Kennedys during her disastrous campaign to win Kennedy’s seat? Steven Crowder decided to go to the source and got an exclusive interview for PJTV with Kennedy’s ghost — after first providing some lubricating incentive in the form of brandy, of course. Steven has some fun poking at the Kennedy mythology, and even gets to throw a stone or two:

Your concern is noted Mr. Daschle.

I suspect this will do more harm than good.

Dude, this is really really really really really bad taste….

ninjapirate on January 23, 2010 at 1:26 PM

And so is driving off a bridge drunk, leaving a young woman to die, and then covering up the crime, only to make jokes about it years later.

Mary Jo is not amused.

Knucklehead on January 23, 2010 at 1:31 PM

Poor taste.

ninjapirate on January 23, 2010 at 1:26 PM

Poking a lil fun, at a man who was responsible for the death of a woman, by letting her drown is in bad taste? Bah.

The news rags for years, have spotted Elvis’ ghost, and no one screams it’s in bad taste. It’s all in fun.

Poor taste.

Skippy3000 on January 23, 2010 at 1:32 PM

Agreed. It was horrible for the democrats to use their fallen comrade in such a blatantly political way during the Coakley campaign.

daesleeper on January 23, 2010 at 1:34 PM

Not in bad taste at all. Though it isn’t really
funny either.

The irony is, however, delicious. I lick
Kennedy’s tears as they drip down his cheeks.

Ace makes fun of Chuckles profile in the NYT. Hehe.

Lance Murdock on January 23, 2010 at 1:46 PM

Ah, the concern trolls come out. I have no sympathy with a dead serial sexual assaulter who murdered a woman and collaborated with the KGB to undermine Reagan’s foreign policy getting made fun of.

He didn’t deserve the chair he sat in in the Senate. The chair he deserved was in a jail, hooked up to an electrical switch.

Blarg the Destroyer on January 23, 2010 at 1:48 PM

The funniest part about this whole situation is that if I remember correctly, Chuckles was boasting about being profile in The Times Sunday edition. Well I decided to hold my breath and jump into the cesspool that is now LGF. Surprise, surprise, there is no mention of the profile anywhere. I wonder why?

HAHAHAHA.

Lance Murdock on January 23, 2010 at 1:49 PM

Even as a ghost, Teddy’s arrogant.

TwilightAuthor on January 23, 2010 at 1:50 PM

Nicely done…. especially the casting of the stone. HAH!

tru2tx on January 23, 2010 at 1:50 PM

To me Crowder just ain’t funny. Over exaggerated facial expressions isn’t comedy. His best work was his quasi- serious look at Canadian healthcare.

lowandslow on January 23, 2010 at 1:51 PM

Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment

ROTFLMAO

“So, what’s it like in heaven?”

To die for…what would Teddy really say if he knew what happened this week? There must be a heaven. It happens to be Massachusetts.

Schadenfreude on January 23, 2010 at 1:54 PM

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone but a Kennedy use that particular accent…

Chow-dah! Say it, Frenchie!

Dude, this is really really really really really bad taste….

ninjapirate on January 23, 2010 at 1:26 PM

as opposed to KO calling Brown a list of abusive, vitriolic slurs that would make hitler cringe? This was done purely for comedy’s sake, and should be taken at face value. Compared to the incessant rambling of the lunatic unhinged left over the past 9 years, I’d say this is mild, at best.

viviliberoomuori on January 23, 2010 at 2:07 PM

Just a reminder: Ted Kennedy, celebrating 150 days of sobriety today. Keep up the good work!!

lowandslow on January 23, 2010 at 1:51 PM

I’ve seen three comedians on Fox News who express right of center views who I really enjoy: Dennis Miller (on O’Reilly), Jim Norton (on Hannity & Red Eye), and Carrie Keagan (Red Eye). Crowder is not a comedian, and every time he tries to be one, he falls flat on his face.

ninjapirate on January 23, 2010 at 1:26 PM

Teddy never seemed to have trouble laughing about Chappaquiddick.

Why so serious?

Asher on January 23, 2010 at 2:20 PM

just not funny

John the Libertarian on January 23, 2010 at 2:29 PM

yeah this is so bad, unlike zombie Reagan, By the way I remember an SNL skit where Uncle Ted takes on a younger Kennedy in who could do the most inappropriate thing. The winner was decided by who could make JFK role over in his grave quickest, and they show an animation of Kennedy in a Coffin. (Uncle Ted won by the way.)

rob verdi on January 23, 2010 at 2:31 PM

Poor taste? G A F L

CWforFreedom on January 23, 2010 at 2:56 PM

Not only funny but environmentally friendly, since this will save resources when Crowder interviews Robert KKK Byrd in his senate office (and/or in the near beyond).

Western_Civ on January 23, 2010 at 2:58 PM

Not funny, not original.

When people make jokes about Chappaquiddick, they’re not just mocking Ted Kennedy’s memory but Mary Jo Kopechne’s as well.

Norman Blizter on January 23, 2010 at 3:09 PM

Not my kind of comedy, but hardly any worse than the necrophilic politicians who drag the dead around to hump in front of crowds as they speechify on their healthcare bill.

rogerb on January 23, 2010 at 3:10 PM

“So, what’s it like in heaven?”

Of course, Ted doesn’t know yet. He’s only just begun his stay in Purgatory.

spmat on January 23, 2010 at 4:05 PM

*than he got.

spmat on January 23, 2010 at 4:06 PM

Ted Kennedy had as much concern for Mary Jo as Hitler had for any Jew. Since that is the case, are we just quibbling about how many victims each have?

Sorry you concern troll morons, The Swimmer deserves every criticism that can be thought of.

AZfederalist on January 23, 2010 at 4:14 PM

Not his best work, but not bad either. I admittedly grimaced when he did this one, but it didn’t suck, either. 4/5 stars.

kc-anathema on January 23, 2010 at 4:15 PM

Very bad taste? Just wait till he’s been dead longer. More of the truth will start to come out.

Mojave Mark on January 23, 2010 at 4:15 PM

Norman Blizter on January 23, 2010 at 3:09 PM

Wrong. Ted said those were his favorite jokes. If anything, we are helping to make him feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Narutoboy on January 23, 2010 at 4:55 PM

That’s hearsay. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Norman Blizter on January 23, 2010 at 3:10 PM

Well, yeah it’s hearsay…the guy is dead. But we aren’t in a court of law, so the rules of evidence don’t apply.

And two wrongs don’t make a right, but three rights make a left…

Asher on January 23, 2010 at 4:58 PM

Wrong. Ted said those were his favorite jokes. If anything, we are helping to make him feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Narutoboy on January 23, 2010 at 4:55 PM

Somehow methinks Teddy isn’t needing any help to feel warm right now.

AZfederalist on January 23, 2010 at 5:09 PM

Little election tidbit that is not widely known: Scott Brown even won Banrstable County, here on Cape Cod. This is part of Hyannis….. where the Kennedy Compound is.

The era of Kennedy is truly over

I have to wonder how little it takes in your real life to get your panties in a wad, if a silly internet slap down of The Swimmer torques ya up. Seriously, how vanilla is your life?

di butler on January 23, 2010 at 6:15 PM

Yeah seriously, I’m so sick and tired of concern mongers, not sure if that is a real term.

gator70 on January 23, 2010 at 6:49 PM

The funniest part about this was the stone throwing….until the concern trolls came out. Then it got really funny!

Vince on January 23, 2010 at 7:02 PM

I was er a very offended by that er a video.

Yeah obviously not really.

- The Cat

P.S. Did he just accuse the Kennedy’s of killing MLK?

MirCat on January 23, 2010 at 7:58 PM

I don’t know about Marh Jo, but the insinuation Kennedy isn’t in Heaven sounds about right. Just like saying liberals scrape the bottom of the toilet to smear others. They’re like racists (which most liberals definitely are; ask Rob Byrd): they put others down, because their lives are zero sum; they don’t believe you can get ahead, without putting others down, first.

Liberals. Bottom-feeders, all.

Skippy damn.

I couldn’t care less about a family of philanderers, rapists and murderers. If they’re offended by this: GOOD. Maybe it’ll teach them to raise their kids to be something other than scumbags.

Virus-X on January 23, 2010 at 8:50 PM

Crowder’s jumped the shark. I don’t recall the last time when I’ve laughed at his videos.

windbag on January 23, 2010 at 11:22 PM

Wow. Where, in hell, is Kennedy?.

Basilsbest on January 23, 2010 at 11:35 PM

I love this – and those of you who think this is taking things too far are off base.

Kennedy killed a woman due to his own cowardice and negligence. He then tried to cover it up. Once he realized none of that would work – he used his own stature as a U.S. Senator with “contacts” to manipulate both the police and the District Attorney’s office to end up getting away with this virtually scott free.

He lived 40 years longer than Mary Jo, the woman he’s responsible for killing.

And he never came “clean” on what he did – he never fessed up to the lies.

If you think he doesn’t “deserve” this – then you are just plain wrong.

HondaV65 on January 23, 2010 at 11:39 PM

Ted Kennedy appears to be a Three Sheets kind of a spirit.

To The Wind… that is.

And just as transparent as he always was.

Norman Blizter on January 23, 2010 at 3:09 PM

Um, Teddy named his dog “Splash”, and joked about the “irony”.

Naaah. Not bad taste, just coincidence (according to fellow “waitress-sandwicher” Chris Dodd).

P.S. Norman Blitzer? By your logic, calling Mary Jo an American hero (she kept Teddy boy out of the White House) is mocking her. It’s meant sincerely.

Squiggy on January 24, 2010 at 8:20 AM

by letting her drown is in bad taste? Bah.

She didn’t drown. She asphyxiated-she ran out of oxygen. The coroner estimated that she was alive for approximately two hours after the crash. She was found in an air pocket.
And the people of Massachusetts returned him to that seat for 40 years.
About time they finally did at least one thing right.
They still owe America…big time.

Amendment X on January 24, 2010 at 5:22 PM

The chair he deserved was in a jail, hooked up to an electrical switch a power substation transformer.

Fixed that for you. Nah, don’t mention it.
