Specter to Bachmann: Act like a lady

Good thing he’s a Democrat now. Otherwise this might have been pretty offensive.
When Specter tried to counter, Bachmann, darling of the Tea Party movement, kept on talking, which didn’t sit well with the one-time Philadelphia DA, who is a stickler for politeness and protocol.
“I’m going to treat you like a lady,” Mr. Specter shot back. “Now act like one.”
Ms. Bachmann replied, “I am a lady.”…
Bachmann is hardly a beloved figure in Democratic circles. But how many liberal women, whom Specter badly needs to defeat front-running Paul [sic] Toomey, would appreciate being told to “act like a lady” during a male debate partner?
They seem okay with stuff like this; why shouldn’t they forgive Specter a transgression? Or rather, two transgressions: Remember when he called Laura Ingraham “young lady” during a radio argument last year? I’m inclined to chalk this all up to grampa-ism — he is, what, about a hundred now? — but if he starts referring to conservative women as “dames” or “broads,” someone’s really going to have to pull him aside. Maybe Harry Reid can do it. He’s pretty up-to-date on cultural sensitivities, no?
For the record, Specter now trails “Paul” Toomey by nine points among likely voters. If not for Reid, his would be the must-see concession speech of November 2010. Exit question: Do we get to add words to Specter’s quote to make it more damning too, or is that sort of thing reserved for liberals like Maureen Dowd? Click the image to listen.

Until Tuesday when Scott Brown was elected Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, my favorite day in the annals of modern political events was the day that Arlene Specter abandoned the Republican Party and became a Democrat. When Specter jumped, the mean IQ of both political parties increased.

I realize that I should react rationally and not emotionally to such behavior, but when douchebags like Specter talk down to Michelle (as similar douchebags have talked down to Sarah and other conservative women), I find I am unable to remain calm.
It is entirely possible for Specter to disagree vehemently with Michelle without scolding her. Jerk.
I lived in PA from age 4 to 21, and I only got to vote against him once. PLEASE PLEASE Keystone Staters, vote this loser out!

Exactly! The article makes it sound as though she just keeps going against all parliamentary procedure. She isn’t even interrupting him, but listening to him and asking a question based on his content when he blows up at her and then at the moderator.

Observation #2: After saying “I’m going to treat you like a lady” Spector meant to say “Now act like one, LITTLE MISSY” If he had said what he meant to say, it would not have sounded nearly as offensive as it did.

I think you’ve also got to consider Joe Sestak. He might be down in the polls now, but he might surge if Democrats want someone who actually stands for what he believes in, rather then shift with the wind.

Sen. Specter should start acting like an adult. His comments were that of a spoiled little child.
Sen. Specter has switched so many times on so many issues that his remarks were as dizzy as he is.
Clearly, Sen. Specter actions are just so Demoncratic (ignoring the PC rules, while demanding others abide by them or pay dearly for their actions)that he can stay where he is.
If Sen. Specter, thinks switching party again to be re-elected will work he has another thing coming – overwhelming defeat.
