Yes, they were the only ones. One 1 out of 5 total committees drafting the House and Senate bills. And it was passed out of committee with Snowe’s vote.

Your point, way back when before all your legalistic evasion, was that Rs refused to work with Dems. In fact they did work with Dems the only chance they were given. The rest of the time they were shut out.

Moving goal posts now? You wanted evidence that the GOP had made any serious proposals on health care, and it was provided to you.

The GOP was not invited to work with the Dems on the writing of these bills. They were excluded from negotiations. You claim otherwise, provide some proof.

It’s been a red letter week for the Conservative Movement. Within the 48 hour period encompassing the surprise upset election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts, bluest of the blue states; with that win we have observed a sea-change in the……

This is probably some sort of red herring to divert attention away from their next outrageous and ill-conceived act.

At a minimum, you need to be sure that (i) people who have an individual policy in one state can transfer that policy to another state at the same equivalent cost and (ii) people who can’t get affordable individual coverage after losing coverage can do so. You’d probably need to do significantly more federal funding of high risk pools under (ii) or allow those people to buy insurance under Medicare. You could also try mandating that insurance companies offer individual coverage at the same full cost rates offered by employers in the event people lose their jobs and insurance.

No, “you” i.e. “we” (i.e. the Federal Government) should not do any of that.

I asserted the other day that the only way to bring down costs is to let the free market be free. You said you agreed. You clearly did not, or do not understand. The solution is not some Progressive-inspired, technocratic social engineering. The solution is to get the Federal (and State) governments out of the way.

Your need does not create an entitlement and you do not have the right to use the power of government to arrange things to satisfy your needs. You, like everyone else, have only the right to freedom and it’s corollary, voluntary trade.

The article you cited said that four out of the five committees that created the bills in the House and Senate were made up of all Democrats. Baucus’ was the sole committee with R representation.

Is it just me or does that sound rushed…again. Then again it’s a Catch-22 for Democrats. Wait, do it right and look like you aren’t doing anything until June. It’s especially true given the speed they tried to cram through health care reform. OR, rush and it looks like desperation and another poorly thought out bill.

No doubt another 2000 pages should cover it.
