Video: David Shuster wonders whether Massachusetts voters have lost their minds

posted at 2:40 pm on January 18, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

Because nothing says “objective journalism” like the assumption that supporting a Republican is a symptom of mental illness, via Newsbusters:

Maybe they’ve just recovered their wits, Mr. Shuster. Perhaps Massachusetts voters don’t want to have their choices dictated by the Kennedys, Barack Obama, Washington DC, and media outlets with axes to grind such as yours. That’s the sign of a healthy mind. The signs of an unhealthy mind? Dismissing the upsurge in anger among American voters in reaction to the radical Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda with giggly middle-school references to oral sex, and then getting shocked to discover that the only people you’re fooling is yourselves.

In any case, MS-NBC should really change their logo at the top to read “The Place for Democratic Party Politics.”

Final ARG (American Research Group) poll is out… they had it +3 for Brown in their last one.

They now have +7 for Brown.

Interestingly, they show pretty much what all other polls show:

Brown leads Coakley 97% to 1% among registered Republicans and he leads 64% to 32% among unenrolled [Independent] voters. Coakley leads Brown 73% to 23% among registered Democrats.

I want to believe, but I can’t. :(

Shuster is shilling very hard for Coakley on twitter. He’s bashing Brown and pushing the “rape” mailer.

Exactly. It’s been interesting watching them for almost year being dismissive of the millions of people out in the streets who’ve never demonstrated before, and discounting the political consequences of that.

It’s amazingly stupid behavior from the “educated class”. Funny thing is they never will get it. It’s beyond their ken. I’d have better luck explaining algebra to my Weimaraner mix.

Socialists never change!! Any and every loss is attributed to the fact either

(a) the voters were too stupid to properly understand the issue(s); or
(b) we must have failed to properly explain the issue(s)and thus our message didn’t get across.

However, Socialists are inherently incapable of accepting a 3rd alternative: The voters received and understood “the message” completely – then rejected it out of hand.

Every election is unique, it has its own issues and “tempo”, but Brown looks to have run just about a perfect campaign.

A campaign that others should follow. If they do, I think we can definitely capture the House or Senate. If Obama goes to the center after this, he’ll alienate his liberal/left base. If he continues on the left, he’ll alienate the center and right. It’s a win-win.

But never underestimate the ability of the Republicans to blow things.

Of course he’s fused! In his head, he can’t possibly be wrong.

It’s typical of psychopaths and others also mentally deranged that they can’t possibly be wrong.

I recall Peter Jennings, a Canadian making millions here in the USA, saying WE had a temper tantrum in 1994.

Most people outside the US don’t grasp our concept of liberty; they don’t see how we refuse being told what to do.

In Russia, gays can’t have their thing in private while, here, what adults do in private isn’t government’s business.

The outside world, and lib Dems here, have no idea what we’re about.

And they have the nerve to say we’re stupid, that we’re bigots, and all else they slander.

“Has Democratic leaning Mass. lost it’s mind?”

That statement right there shows how quick liberals are to turn on anyone who doesn’t fall in line, even their own.

I was stunned when Indiana, Virginia and Noerth Carolina went for Obama but at the same time I understood why they did and the Republicans and certain Bush policies were to blame (not mention a lethargic McCain campaign). It was a learning experience for many outside the beltway conservatives and fortunately, from the sound of it, Liberals will not be learning the same lessons. They will continue to lose with an attitude like this.
