VIDEO: Scott Brown’s Speech at Saturday Rally in Middleboro, Mass.
posted at 11:00 am on January 17, 2010 by The Other McCain
FITCHBURG, Mass.
“Holy crap!” I shouted Saturday evening when Da Tech Guy and I rolled up to Everett Square in Middleboro. We’d driven an hour and a half to attend this Scott Brown campaign event, but I’d hardly expected the massive crowd assembled outside the Flat Iron Cafe. At least 500 people showed up for this rally. Here are two video clips of Scott Brown’s speech to the crowd:
Will update later with photos and more, but I wanted y’all to see this video as soon as possible.
UPDATE: Da Tech Guy has his account of the Middleboro rally online.
UPDATE II: As promised, photos from the rally:
Folks in Middleboro love them some Scott Brown.
Uncle Sam wants YOU to vote for Scott Brown.
The candidate is surrounded by supporters, aides and reporters.
Like father, like son.
A brilliant line becomes a brilliant sign.
The Flat Iron Cafe was the site of Brown’s rally Saturday.
Da Tech Guy interviews Brown supporters. Note the distinctive Sicilian hand gesture.
An 85-year-old Navy veteran. If the Nazi submarines couldn’t sink him, he’s not afraid of a cigarette.

Have to agree, “the people’s seat” is perhaps the most brilliant line to come out of this election season. Hopefully it will run its course throughout the nation and put “hope and change” to utter shame.

No, Brown is going to need as much as we can send. He has to lawyer up and staff up right away in every potential problem precinct, which most MA precincts will be, given the demos.
A failure to do this or have the funds and people available will get him Frankened, and we’ve already been to that rodeo.

This will replace “hope and change” in 2010! It all started with a “safe” seat in Massachusetts and became a rallying cry to the people all over the country.
It resonates. It inspires us all to be involved in reviving “the peoples seat” in Washington D.C.!
Time to take back the peoples seat.

The downside of having the retort ” It’s the People’s seat!!” lives on as legend like: “I paid for this Mike” ; “I would not take advantage of my opponent’s youth and inexperience”; “Senator, You’re no Kennedy”, is that we have to see David Gergan’s sourpuss face again and again.

The Tea Party fervor that stoked fires in the hearts of patriots 230+ years ago lives on. Scott Brown’s campaign and voter interest has metamorphosized into something not seen in many campaigns of modern days. He is having problems that most campaigns would love to have. Check it.

Non-believers can become believers, and a Scott Brown Victory could save the Democrats from themselves.
They may have forgotten the old adage that you should be careful what you wish for – because you just may get it.
Juno77 on January 17, 2010 at 12:04 PM
One of the crucial aspects of this election is that everyone voting for Scott Brown knows that their vote counts. If Scott Brown wins, wave “bye-bye” to ObamaCare, Cap ‘n Trade, Amnesty, and another round of porkulus. That’s some great motivation there.
PackerBronco on January 17, 2010 at 12:05 PM
No, no, that’s the best part! Gergen asks the question with a little smirk on his face as if he thought that he really nailed Scott Brown. There’s NO WAY Scott was going to go against the “Lyin’ of Senate”. It really showed the bubble that Gergen lives in.
PackerBronco on January 17, 2010 at 12:08 PM
It’s a real shame that voting has come to this. We need to change the way we vote, no more absentee ballots, I.D. must be shown, vote day be a national no work day so that voting is possible. Paper ballots are essential fully guarded from poll to counting house. Voter registration in state houses with ability to identify who is registering. We have allowed the Demoncraps to subvert the voting process with motor voter etc. It must stop so that the voice of the people can honestly be heard.

d1carter on January 17, 2010 at 12:20 PM
Right Cindy! This is VERY important: CHOOSE poll observers who can stay AWAKE, ALERT, &
AGGRESSIVEASSERTIVE UNTIL ALL COUNTING & CERTIFYING IS COMPLETE.Start a “Red Bull Fund” to make people aware that we must REMAIN VIGILENT for as long as it takes. I’ve worked election polls & can tell u how common it is when problems/chaos erupts at the end of a lond day for older or just plain energy depleted workers or volunteers to pack it in & leave “others” to “finish up”. THIS IS THEIR (ACORN / ALINSKY) STRATEGY. Don’t leave ANY ONE PARTY ALONE with paper/electronic ballots, last minute registration forms or any “I-just-found-these-in-my-trunk” junk!
Amp-up at the polls, make sure your cell/video camera is fully charged & use it.

I am with you, there are too many ways to cheat, I’ve worked the polls here in AZ, people come in with 2 DL, different address, differrent district and you can’t say anything to them, the provisional ballots are questionable they have to verify all are legitimate and I never quite understood how they can do that in such a short time after the polls close. Absentee ballots are stolen and submitted, they need a fool-proof system and this isn’t it.

Will the supposed Catholics in Taxachusetts vote pro-life, or will they vote for Coakley?
It’s now or never, Taxachusetts. It’s now or never.
madmonkphotog on January 17, 2010 at 1:16 PM
McCain did his ‘Americans are too lazy to pick lettuce’ line as his reason for amnesty. Brown hasn’t been insulting the hands that pull the lever.
He seems to be able to say the right thing. He gives more honest respect to his audience. Has not acquired the DC noblesse oblige
Brown deserves full credit for his ‘people’s seat’ remark. Better words were never chosen at this moment in history
Perhaps it helped Massachussetts was considered a lost cause. It might have left Brown more free to run an honest campaign. I haven’t seen a warm fuzzy ad of Brown and family running through a meadow – yet. If these are being run, someone should point us to them
What we need to do is get rid of the producers of the creepy theatrical we call the Republican National Convention, where phoney baloney is poured out to convince you the candidate is not phoney
What people are seeking now is trust. Anything slick or not heartfelt is a killer. I have noticed phonies cannot do the ‘honesty, common man’ schtick too long without cracking
entagor on January 17, 2010 at 2:12 PM
Massachusetts is all abuzz today about allegations by the Coakley campaign that Scott Brown sneered in a 2008 interview that then-presidential candidate Barack Obama was born out of wedlock. Democrats are taking that allegation a step further and for the next 48 hours will shriek that Scott Brown is a closet racist who called Obama a black bastard during the referenced interview.
This little Democrat-induced crapstorm will strike a nerve with the Massachsetts Womens’ Vote that will cause Brown to possibly sink below Coakley at the ballot box on Tuesday.

Gee, I hope not. I was at this rally and can say it was even better in person. Can’t imagine why someone who was a product of a broken family such as himself would say such a thing. My guess is it would be some wildy out of context statement blown up into a faux crisis by DESPERATE MA democrats. I am cautiously optimistic, but can never take the stupidity of the MA electorate for granted. Considering the quality of candidate she has been, if Coakley wins, I throw up my hands in disgust forever. C’mon, Mass – we can do this thing!

The Democrats aren’t really expecting this last minute slander to actually swing the vote itself. They know full well no one will believe that this kind of momentum can just disappear overnight, so they’re planning to use this as a fig leaf to cover their ballot box stuffing: “Yeah, sure we lied and cheated, but it was all just underhanded, not illegal.”

This Catholic in California knows that Brown is pro-Choice — he even states so in this clip. I’m sure the ones in Massachusetts know likewise, regardless of Coakley’s attack ads.
So the choice of candidate will not be influenced by pro-Life sentiment. Other items on the political checklist will drive the voters — in particular, the whole horse-pill that’s called ObamaCare.
unclesmrgol on January 17, 2010 at 6:00 PM
I respectfully disagree. If you say that to my blind, bedridden, neighbor — or, for that fact, to nearly anyone who physically cannot make it to the polls but wants to vote, I’m sure you’ll get an earful.
When a military person votes absentee while on duty away from their polling place, they are being given exactly what any Citizen deserves — the right to vote.

No SILLY! He was in Massatoosits today, not CHURCH! What on earth are you thinking?
Yellowdog12 on January 17, 2010 at 10:42 PM
Actually, I view abortion for any reason other than to save the life of the mother (as would be the case in an ectopic pregnancy) as an evil. So, the corollary of that is that, if abortions are to be offered, a conscience rule is quite important to protect the rights of medical providers.
As I’ve pointed out elsewhere, Brown voted for the emergency contraceptive law in spite of his freedom of conscience amendment being voted down. I’m sure that, after reflection on the current set of Massachusetts laws, he determined that the existing laws provide implicitly the conscience exemption he was hoping for.
The problem is that the provider refusing “emergency contraception” (which works to cause a miscarriage if pregnancy has occurred) will have to fight in court to prove that particular medical fact rather than pointing explicitly to the emergency contraception law to support their position.
What happened was that Brown punted the problem. It might be the politically savvy thing to do, but it doesn’t show any adherence to principle. That’s why I’m staying out of this race other than to comment here.

Did you notice how Scott Brown started out by pointing out Martha Coakley’s campaign tracker, and complimenting him on being a polite fellow. He got every person in the audience to look over at that man and recognize him.
Then, during the speech, he referred to the mistakes of Martha Coakley, and pointed to that man, thus personifying the message and reinforcing the point. It was a great technique, which is going to catch on, Big Time…
