Funny: Press corps torments Gibbs again with questions about transparency

posted at 6:50 pm on January 15, 2010 by Allahpundit

A palate cleanser courtesy of Media Blog. He’s right that they’ve been over this before and they’re right that he hasn’t given them a satisfactory explanation. With good reason. The only satisfactory answer — “my boss is a brazen liar who’ll promise dopey liberals anything to get elected” — isn’t available. So we end up with the political equivalent of a conversation from a dysfunctional marriage. Why do we have to talk past each other, baby?

The one silver lining for Democrats in the very gray ObamaCare cloud? This seems like such a minor issue now relative to the rest of it. They’re gaming cost estimates, they’re bribing senators, they’re ignoring virtually every poll in the country showing massive disapproval. Why not extend the middle finger on transparency too? Are people going to go from enraged to really enraged or something?

Blowback

Mr. Gibbs is really the worse Press Secretary in a long time.

He can not control a crowed and let’s the meeting turn into a fiasco with no real substance being provided.

Gibbs is a featherweight Press Secretary. He is finally getting questions that he should have gotten long ago.

When he wears his pink tie, it fits perfectly with his “metrosexual” side.

One thing I’m getting out of this election is that the people of Massachusetts, like most of America, are just sick and tired of the Kennedy’s.

Wrong thread… my bad. I’m going back to bed.

The difference between a finger in the air and a finger in a trigger guard. Yeah, I know…too reactionary. Bite me.
I’m not advocating violence at the moment, but I am saying don’t be stupid enough to believe it can’t come to that given enough oppression and provocation. It did before. The founders put the Second Amendment into the constitution for the same eventuality, to protect liberty, not deer hunting.

Beltway Bob Gibbs is making Saddam Hussein’s Baghdad Bob look good by comparison. Maybe the American Pravda media is losing their collective Chris Matthew’s style LEG TINGLES.

“Are people going to go from enraged to really enraged or something?”

yep. That’s exactly what is happening. We haven’t even seen one Rageboy in the US yet. We’re probably 2 on a scale of 10.

Just wait until they play games with the Scott Brown election. Or they try to ran the destruction of the country through with 51 votes.

At enragement point 7 or 8, politicians should be looking to ban guillotines. Except it will be too late.

Who would have EVAH thought that we’d have a press secretary who made Scott f-ing McClellan look good?

Sugar Land on January 15, 2010 at 6:54 PM

Hey, “Sugar Land,” you’re almost famous as a result of your profound observation. I was checking out PajamasMedia’s site this morning and this caught my eye – - displayed under Instapundit’s headline column:

FUNNY: Press corps torments Gibbs again with questions about transparency. Plus, from the comments: “Who would have EVAH thought that we’d have a press secretary who made Scott f-ing McClellan look good?”

I think this pretty much means that you’ve been declared the thread winner. Good job.

ReagansRight on January 16, 2010 at 1:03 PM

So the lap-dog press-corps finally gets restless?
If they want to press this issue they have to refuse to move on to another topic so Gibbs is forced to halt the briefing (to his public shame).

This transparency issue is a legitimate question and the public should have an answer.

I can’t believe the news media is going to put up with this disgusting moral corruption & flagrant screw-you dishonesty Obama’s press secretary spews. They should really pound our prince of darkness president for this.

Chessplayer on January 16, 2010 at 9:28 PM

Why even bother trying to talk to Gibbs.
He is not going to say anything.
Where does one sign up to get the job of coming out and standing in front of a podium and thumbig your nose at a room full of people, then leave and Get Paid?
I will be so glad when playtime is over and we can get back to having a real administration.

mrcarter123 on January 17, 2010 at 6:45 AM

I have to admit, this Administration is very ‘transparent’ – everyone can see right through them.
