Quotes of the day

posted at 10:40 pm on January 13, 2010 by Allahpundit

“While Obama’s approval rating on terrorism has inched up, his approval ratings for handling the economy and healthcare have declined slightly since they were last measured, in late November. His current 40% approval rating on the economy and 37% rating on healthcare are the lowest of his presidency to date. The latter number is of some concern as the president and Congress work toward final legislation on healthcare reform, which could be ironed out later this month.”

***
“President Barack Obama says he has not succeeded in bringing the country together, acknowledging an atmosphere of divisiveness that has washed away the lofty national feeling surrounding his inauguration a year ago.

“‘That’s what’s been lost this year … that whole sense of changing how Washington works,’ Obama said in an interview with People magazine.

“The president said his second-year agenda will be refocused on uniting the country around common values, ‘whether we’re Democrats or Republicans.’”

***
“Hats off to him for a near-flawless execution of an audacious campaign strategy. Since nobody knew anything about him, why not claim the mantle of Lincoln? Nobody could point to a governing record to suggest that he was not in fact a leader for the ages – so why not claim to be? Other pols promise the sun, the moon, and the stars in the sky, but Barack Obama would do them one better: he’d promise the eschaton. Not only would an Obama administration grow the economy and end the war, it would reclaim the meaning of citizenship!…

“But if this President is so vainglorious as to believe his campaign’s claims about his greatness, we have reason to worry. With problem piling up on top of problem, the last thing we need is a leader so hopelessly enamored of himself that he actually presumes to be the next Lincoln.”

Obama is so incompetent he reminds me of a woman who was foolishly given the job of Plant Mgr. at my old company’s Elk Grove, CA plant. She was pals with one of the owners (another woman) and she was degree’ed (wow).

After a couple of months trying to get the plant up and running, she had to be removed due to her intense insecurities about taking any advice. The Facilities Mgr. went to her about where fire extinguishers had to go. Yes, she was that mircromanaging. When the Facil. Mgr. explained to her the law and where they had to be put, she was nervous and couldn’t give the OK to have it done without being offended that a man told her to do it or suggested it. It was a struggle to get her to agree to anything that was duh common sense. It was insecurity and ego the whole f’in way. Yes, she was your standard SF Bay Area liberal feminist type.

Obama is the same way. I get the feeling this guy is so immature that he could not delegate and take sound advice.

Could anybody imagine Palin acting in such a befuddled way as a leader? No. He is a child in a man’s job.

Advice to Obama:

Always get the guns first before you save the country….motherf’er.

I wonder what common values Obama is going to unite us around… Sharia Law and Abortion?… G-d Damn America and White Folk’s Greed?… Hope and Change?…

What a bunch of fools live in this country.

However, the country is fully awake to how snokered it has been. This is the only good.

Hopefully this fooling can only happen once.

If the lesson is not learned, the people deserve more fools like this buffoon.

Slightly OT, but, UpChuck Tumor and the Dems have it all wrong with the “tea-bagger”: label.

Tea Partiers are American Patriots who are demonstrating in the streets to take their country back from left-wing extremists hell-bent on the destruction of its founding principles.

Tea-bagging is a term used by gays to describe one of their sexual acts.

Gay marriage advocates also demonstrate in the streets to jam their agenda down the throats of the American public.

I would argue that “tea-baggers” is a far more appropriate term to describe the gay marriage crowd.

What say you, Barney Frank?

The only thing chairman Maobowma and Abraham Lincoln have in common is that they both spent some time in Illinois.

“The president said his second-year agenda will be refocused on uniting the country around common values, ‘whether we’re Democrats or Republicans.’”

He will accomplish this by once again reminding the GOP that he won.

State of the Union Address:

“There will be no discrimination when I pull this great nation together: I can assure you with this solemn promise -I will treat every Repuplican, Democrat, every man, woman and child the same -as I throw their sorry butts under the bus!” I will do this on C-Span!

I’m always late to the Q.O.T.D. parties. Jay Cost gets it, except for this: He’s not a crypto-communist…. I’d like Cost to explain this discrepancy:

If he’s not a “crypto-Communist” (or hide-in-plain-sight Communist/Socialist/Marxist/Facist/Progressive), why does he have so many people like ex-Czar Van Jones, Carol Browner and Hilda Solis, to name a few of many) in his administration? What is “redistributive change” if not a form of Communism?

Are we to believe that this is all part of an effort at “unity” where he let’s all voices sing and have a place at the table (except for those “extremist” Republicans)?

Obama reminded me of the plays and film “Six Degrees of Separation,” in which a wealthy white New York couple is conned by a young black man who claims to be a friend of their Ivy-League son and also to be the son of Sidney Poitier.

He isn’t, of course, but they fall for it because the con man has learned all the right buzz words and the clothes to wear from an affair wtih an Ivy League student. The play was based on an actual incident.

Thet the couple is part of the world of expensive art, where people who fancy themeselves experts and able to spot a fake are still taken now and then (including museums) is an underlying theme, too.

Barry, or whatever his current name is, accomplished one thing.
He provided proof that a black man could be President of the USA.

Unite the country around common values. Ok, does that mean they are changing their minds and ways and becoming conservative. Cause if it ain’t, we won’t be united. Unless we’re united to elect someone else.

I’ll say.

This is the year of decision.

Either he completes his coup or we take back the country.

It’s that simple.

I hope there is another Joe Wilson in the crowd in the SOTU address. In fact, there should be many. It is not un-American to lash out at the destroyer of your homeland when he’s explaining how he plans to kill you off.
