Porkulus saved or created two million jobs now

posted at 9:30 am on January 13, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

Why, I thought the White House had abandoned the “saved or created” mythology!  Apparently, they’ve only abandoned having to account for how they get the numbers.  The Washington Post reports that despite having their earlier number of 640,000 torn to shreds by the Associated Press and media outlets around the nation, the Obama administration has now tripled down on jobs saved or created:

The $787 billion economic stimulus package has created or saved between 1.7 million and 2 million jobs, but its impact on the economy ebbed slightly in the final quarter of 2009 compared with prior months, the White House said Tuesday night.

Releasing the administration’s second quarterly report to Congress on the stimulus’s impact, Christina Romer, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, said a third of the tax cuts and spending in the package is out the door. Her office estimates that the stimulus added between 1.5 and 3 percentage points to the growth in gross domestic product in the final quarter of 2009. That estimate, which is in line with other analyses, is lower than her office’s estimate of stimulus-related impact in the third quarter, between 3 and 4 percentage points.

Administration officials said often last year that the stimulus’s impact would be felt more over time as spending ramped up, but Romer said in a conference call with reporters that the drop-off in GDP impact was not unexpected. The biggest jolt to the GDP came with the first big surge of spending over the summer, she said, and job creation is now following.

Er, what?  The economy lost 85,000 jobs in December, numbers announced less than a week ago.  Job creation isn’t following — it’s not happening at all, as the BLS numbers clearly showed.

Let’s put up yesterday’s chart of total jobs over the last 10 years to make this clear:

With the exception of a bump of 4,000 jobs in November — temporary work — there hasn’t been any job creation at all.  For eighteen months, the rate of job destruction has remained constant, as the slope of the drop on this chart shows, bottoming out with November’s numbers and dropping again last month.  Where in any of the established metrics of employment at BLS does it show net job creation?

The White House either is living in a fantasy world, or it thinks we are.  Unfortunately, that fantasy is George Orwell’s 1984.

Update: Er, jobs, not dollars. Don’t write headlines before having first cup of coffee.

Obama’s Whole Cloth won’t keep the American unemployed from freezing and starving to death. All of the media fabrication in the entire world won’t save or create an American job. Nor will Obama Fables impress anyone with a brain who yet thinks.

True appreciation of Obamunism: Watch how Obama will revise the word “responsible” into his New Year Resolution to perpetuate blame on Bush for all things “wrong” in the world. Obama seals death to America.

We’ve come to the point where Obama’s deadly faults are not amusing. Obamateurism worked during B+rry’s first year until Ft. Hood’s massacre. Obama and his Administration specialize in processing the hangman’s noose to hang America. Democrats target any law abiding responsible person, “responsible” twisted into another unacceptable term because it causes the Left to squirm in discomfort, the turn of the screw. “Who is responsible” is the tag of blame for fault after the fact rather than the distinguishing honor accepted by true supporters of our Constitution.
Why Intelligence Keeps Failing

Herbert E. Meyer
Simply put, the reason our intelligence service keeps failing to connect the dots is because the officials in charge don’t know how.

Whether the officials in charge know how to or not ignores the facts of PRECEDENCE set by the Bush Administration that DID connect dots after Willy-Jeff left office with 9/11/01 in the works and his own intelligence officials remaining on the job during Bush’s transition into office. Obama’s officials most certainly CHOOSE to not connect dots. It isn’t as if they “don’t know how” since even a mimic can see and do as well as a monkey.

Stupidity can lead to perfidy
Jed Gladstein

Ultimately, stupidity can lead to perfidy. That is a simple lesson of history. The impulse to “go along to get along” ends up invisibly transitioning people beyond the point where they can legitimately defend the Devil’s bargain they are making to protect their personal job security.

It’s a matter of CHOICE and DETERMINATION.

PC offends the entire American body. It is the cancer that Marxists devised in order to “politely” murder Liberty. Simultaneously, the Marxists have negated all sense of loyalty to nation and familial tradition in Western Civilization, while pirating all industry and through assassination of responsible business practices, betting against the USA and all US industry for profit, the only profit that Obama’s PC administration of pirates permit.

In Libya, for instance, university grad students refuse to accept any responsibility to perform themselves the routine tasks required of any life sustaining project. THAT level of incompetence is exactly what the American Ivy League officials in charge have in store for us, they implemented already into a fraudulent government that distances itself further and further from its Constitutional purpose and authority.

Islam is a whitened sepulcher. Sharia-Jihad requires all of our lives be summarily taken, “sacrificed” because Islam has chosen to be offended by civilization independent of Mohamed, never willing to admit that all they want is to steal for themselves what they covet, hiding their own corrupt sins in feigned righteousness. And Obama assents to that for his own selfish reasons, bearing NO ALLEGIANCE TO THE US CONSTITUTION, Bill of Rights, American Citizens, and Christianity.

It isn’t an eye for an eye. It is an eye for survival to nip sabotage in the bud, before destruction burns like hell. We need to remove from our own government this PC-tolerant cancer that is killing us all, the Obama Doctrine of Death for America.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be destroyed.–Matthew 5:29; Matthew 18:9

And if thine eye serve as a snare to thee, cast it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.–Mark 9:47

When the people in power believe more in Chavez and Mugabe than Washington and Jefferson, this is what happens.

And this is why Obama and the democrats are going to have to pull off a coup or commit vote fraud on such an epic scale that even the MSM (except MSNBC) will aghast to remain in power.

Americans simply won’t accept perpetual recession/depression as the “economic norm”.

Bottom line, this administration has no credibility when it comes to reporting about itself. It lies about job creation. It sends out reports claiming it increased national security over the last year (really). The President thinks he is just shy of making the Dean’s list when he grades himself…..

We need a collective Joe Wilson moment here and start holding these criminals to account for their actions instead of reporting out on what stupid pigs like Christina Romer says during her propaganda talks with the media.

Oh I’d so much rather go for the Clinton era than Obama. Back then the democrats were simply political opponents with different ideas than we had. They weren’t seditious and out to destroy the country INTENTIONALLY in order to re-cast it in their own image.

The democrat party as it exists today doesn’t need to merely be defeated, it must be DESTROYED.

The White House believes that reality is whatever they say it is, and they’ve got friends in the media to back them up:

1) Temperature decline for a decade coupled with a record nationwide cold snap? Proof that we’re all burning up; the science is settled.

2) Workforce hemorrhaging workers and the economy is contracting? The new golden age is upon us and we’re all getting our unicorns any day now.

If St. Louis were being ground to dust under a mile thick glacier and 50% of the country were out of work and on the streets, the NY Times would opine that people burning their homes for heat were contributing to the massive heat wave. No, they don’t really think we’re that stupid (okay, they know that some of the populace is). Rather, they don’t care. Reality is whatever they say it is and you’d better get on board.

The $787 billion economic stimulus package has created or saved between 1.7 million and 2 million jobs, but its impact on the economy ebbed slightly in the final quarter of 2009 compared with prior months, the White House said Tuesday night.

Does this mean the Senate can now scrap the 155 billion jobs bill Pelosi and the House passed in November? Never mind that the stimulus/porkulus was designed to create or save jobs—WHICH IT HAS NOT—but to allow these criminals to steal another 155 billion, (in unfunded taxpayer dollars), and call it a jobs bill, sounds a bit like double dipping to me.

The $787 billion economic stimulus package has created or saved between 1.7 million and 2 million jobs, but its impact on the economy ebbed slightly in the final quarter of 2009 compared with prior months, the White House said Tuesday night.

Enough of this bull$hit! Nobody believes it, so stop beclowning yourselves (unless it’s a compulsion you can’t control).

Last week, Obama announced $2.3 billion in tax credits to promote clean-energy jobs, paid for out of his stimulus plan. He also urged $5 billion in future spending on green manufacturing.

“Building a robust clean energy sector is how we will create the jobs of the future,” he said.
This dude is insane, we elected a madman to our highest office.

A lot of good “green jobs” will do us when the manufacturing part of the business head to China because they aren’t worried about non-existent AGW so they have cheap energy.

HotAir Headline: Millions are feared unemployed.

Christina Romer, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers pledges that her recommended economic policy will exacerbate the situation by growing the government even bigger. Romer compliments herself by stating the following; Have no fear America, socialism has finally taken hold and it may take years to recover but we in the Obama admnistration think you’ll enjoy the standard of living we think you deserve. The American traditions of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is out and whatever the global economic educated class elites think is in. Will the last American capitalist survivor please remember turn out the light before emigrating to New Zealand.
