Quotes of the day

“A poll of GOP insiders suggests that ex-AK Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has little support among the party’s professional class — and maybe that’s just how she wants it.

“In a survey of 109 party leaders, political professionals and pundits, Palin finished 5th on the list of candidates most likely to win the party’s ’12 WH nomination. Ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney (R) was the overwhelming choice…”

“At issue is the role of David Keene, head of the American Conservative Union which organizes CPAC. In September, POLITICO reported that Keene asked FedEx for between $2 million and $3 million to get the group’s support in a bitter legislative battle with rival UPS.

“A source close to the Palin camp says that request led to a decision to stay away from the upcoming CPAC conference, calling it a forum that will place ‘special interests over core beliefs’ and ‘pocketbook over policy.’

“‘That’s not what CPAC should be about and people are tiring,’ the source said. ‘Palin is taking a stance against this just as she did in Alaska.’”

***
“Palin had a reflexive tendency to refer to Biden as ‘O’Biden,’ Schmidt revealed. He says other people on the campaign staff came up with a solution. ‘It was multiple people — and I wasn’t one of them — who all said at the same time, ‘Just say, ‘Can I call you Joe?’ which she did.’”

AP, it’s about time to be true to yourself! YOU’RE A CUDA FANATIC! There’s freedom in admission, you know!

Admitting you have a problem IS the first step to recovery.

Alllah is jonesing for the bikini pic, a real one, not that photoshopped jag. He wants him some mommyluv from his Sarah.

So do I.

Palin wasn’t picked to appeal to Hillary Clinton voters. We all knew most of the Hillary lovers were going to back Obama once Her Highness got around to endorsing him too. Palin was picked because she was pro-life and didn’t have any Republican contingent that actively hated her.

Speedwagon82 on January 8, 2010 at 12:52 AM

Hillary Clinton has given her life and her dignity to the Democratic party. They all backstabbed her, and she stuck with them, just like she did when her husband betrayed her. Hillary Clinton lacks the courage that Sarah Palin showed in making her own way in politics.

Remember that most of the Obama administration are Clinton holdovers. They are all corrupt and also disposable. Look at the examples of Greg Craig and Vince Foster. Of course, Hillary sold out. Now her campaign debt to Mark Penn has been paid off. Real Democrats always knew it would come down to this, and that she would rally her voters to Obama. John McCain knew this as well as anyone.

GOP insiders? Yeah, that’s a crowd I’m gonna take my marching orders from…not! These are the same elitist a$$holes who gave us McCain and would foist Romney or Huckabee off on us if they got the chance. Let’s not give them that chance, people. A real conservative or screw it, I’m staying home. No excuses from you. No apologies from me.
You will never guilt me into voting for the less awful candidate again. Been there, done that. How’d that work out for us?

The hammer hits the nail. I’m with you on this. PLEASE no Romney or a copy of. This is no longer a game. We are on the front lines now.

Rainboskies on January 8, 2010 at 10:46 AM

I’m with you, extrafishy. Allah keeps trying to make a case against Palin regarding the insiders of the Repub. party. He doesn’t seem to understand they are becoming more irrelevant each day. I don’t give a flip what those worms think.

10 million conservatives stayed home in 2008 because of McCain.

A lot more conservatives will vote 3rd party in 2012 if the GOP repeats the mistake by nominating Romney, Huckabee or another RINO.

Norwegian on January 8, 2010 at 11:14 AM

Romney? Oh man, we are soooo screwed! The master tactician who gave us the “no matter what, surrender before you can be defeated” strategy by instituting Romney-care Massachsets, this schmuck wins… uhmmm, anyone’s vote at all? Why don’t we do just like we did here in Illinois, and have the republican big-wigs throw a fundraiser for the Democrats, Kjellander & Cellini (Rep. party officials) did this for Blago, and call it a night?

The Republicans remind me of the Palestinian’s, they never waste an opportunity to waste an opportunity!

UnF%&king Beleivable!

Archimedes on January 8, 2010 at 11:41 AM

I don’t think the GOP insiders are one whit different from the Dem insiders.

She’s right.

Stay away from DC beltway idiots.

AnninCA on January 8, 2010 at 12:17 PM

Palin had a reflexive tendency to refer to Biden as ‘O’Biden

That’s funny.

peski on January 8, 2010 at 12:55 PM

Sarah Palin is ditching CPAC because the Birchers are a co-host. Smart move, dumb? My guess it is the smart move, given that the Birchers, while I sympathize with their little “l” libertarianism, are a bit odd. Plus, it is probably wise for a conservative to quietly ask themselves before an important decision: “What would WFB, Jr. do?” (Christopher Buckley might consider that). I mean, I may have disagreements about Ike, but I do not think he was a Communist.

Meanwhile the racism is so tasty!

You are soooo RIGHT!!!!! Let’s see how long it takes them to totally blow it by “beltway business as usual” model which got them dumped the last time they had a mojority – not sure anybody in DC is really taking the Tea party folks seriously- will they ever get it- it’s the conservative values that the country is now longing for!!!!

huskerdiva on January 8, 2010 at 4:30 PM

Maybe this is a smoke screen to fool the ‘independents’?

Establshing Sarah Palin firmly in PEOPLE’s mind that she fights against the establishment, have Schmidt do a mild jab here and there to endear her to the base, etc.

Have pundits’ heads blown all over the place, even better.

Sir Napsalot on January 8, 2010 at 5:23 PM

But it comes down to the end, all the GOP insiders will expect Palin to be a “good little girl” and fire up the conservatives who support her to get them to send money and votes.
