Top Obama advisors: We no longer believe the 2007 NIE on Iran’s weapons program

Mr. Obama’s top advisers say they no longer believe the key finding of a much disputed National Intelligence Estimate about Iran, published a year before President George W. Bush left office, which said that Iranian scientists ended all work on designing a nuclear warhead in late 2003.

Well no “DUH!!!” you liberal idiots.

Bush along with France,Germany,and Israel stated plainly that the 2007 assessment was bunk.

But all we got from the super smart ones was more smug “we told you so” and “we stopped Bush from starting another war”
“See…Bush was lying again” liberal drivel.

On and on and on liberals crowed about how smart they were but…as usual…they were 100% wrong.

She is now identified as a “senior foreign policy advisor.”. 

Also of note is a recent opinion piece Power wrote for TIME, titled “Rethinking Iran,” the thrust of which rethinking involves the need to engage diplomatically the mullahs and pretend that the Iranian nuclear program is a figment of the paranoid imagination of the Bush administration. She writes:

The war scare that wasn’t [the recent incident between Iranian speedboats and the U.S. Navy in the Straight of Hormuz] stands as a metaphor for the incoherence of our policy toward Iran: the Bush Administration attempts to gin up international outrage by making a claim of imminent danger, only to be met with international eye rolling when the claim is disproved. Sound familiar? The speedboat episode bore an uncanny resemblance to the Administration’s allegations about the advanced state of Iran’s weapons program-allegations refuted in December by the National Intelligence Estimate.

Does Power actually believe that the NIE put to rest concerns about the Iranian nuclear program? If she actually thinks that — and it appears she does — she deserves voluminous ridicule from thinking people everywhere.

Yes Mrs. smart power bought the 2007 NIE hook,line,and sinker not because the facts backed it up, but because it fit the liberal agenda of playing down the dangers of our enemies because they thought they could “talk” them into peace.

Susan Rice

President-elect Barack Obama has chosen his foreign policy adviser, Susan E. Rice, to be ambassador to the United Nations, picking an advocate of “dramatic action” against genocide as he rounds out his national security team, Democrats close to the transition said Sunday.

This may be a little off topic concerning the 2007 NIE,but Rice’s incompetence is just as dramatic as the liberals that championed this 2007 NIE:

Let’s look at what “little Mrs.Dramatic action against genocide” actually has on her resume of ….you know….actually stopping genocide:

Yeah, yeah.  Ms. Rice supported Obama’s Jan 2007 plan for a rapid withdrawal from Iraq back when the National Intelligence Estimate was that it would lead to increased violence there. 

How is taking our troops out of Iraq “helping to prevent genocide” when every intelligence agency in the world plainly stated that if we had cut and run, tens of thousands would have been slaughtered in a civil war.

……Rice was a rising star at the NSC during the Rwanda genocide under Clinton

The Times doesn’t mention it, but the title of that piece in the Atlantic: “Bystanders to Genocide.” Authored by Samantha Power, an Obama adviser and someone who actually has a record of backing strong action against mass killings, the story does not reflect well on Rice:

At an interagency teleconference in late April, Susan Rice, a rising star on the NSC who worked under Richard Clarke, stunned a few of the officials present when she asked, “If we use the word ‘genocide’ and are seen as doing nothing, what will be the effect on the November [congressional] election?” Lieutenant Colonel Tony Marley remembers the incredulity of his colleagues at the State Department. “We could believe that people would wonder that,” he says, “but not that they would actually voice it.” Rice does not recall the incident but concedes, “If I said it, it was completely inappropriate, as well as irrelevant.”

So while genocide was going on in Rwanda,little Mrs. “Dramatic action against genocide” was more worried about the November elections than about stopping the genocide…which nobody (including the UN) did.

…….but this gem takes the cake when it comes to the architect’s of “smart power”:

According to multiple sources, including former Clinton official Mansoor Ijaz and Richard Miniter, author of the bestseller Losing Bin Laden, it was she who was a major opponent of accepting Sudan’s offer to turn over the world’s most wanted mass murderer.  At the time, Rice was the Clinton Administration’s Secretary of State for African Affairs and a former assistant National Security Advisor under Sandy Berger.

According the both Ijaz and Miniter, Rice’s personal beliefs on the Sudan’s credibility led to her convincing Berger to reject their offer to turn over Bin Laden, overruling the advice of Tim Carney, then ambassador to Sudan.  Her partner in this colossal error in judgment?  Bush hater Richard Clarke.  Sadly, a little more than a year later, Bin Laden’s murderers blew up the African embassies, killing U. S. soldiers and citizens.

That’s right…..they were going to hand over Bin Laden on a silver platter and little Mrs. dramatic action….little Mrs. smart power…..said it was a bad idea….don’t do it.
These are the same people whining and bitc#ing about Tora Bora.

From Napalitano to Powers to Rice to Hillary, Obama has nothing but INEPTNESS….IDIOCY….AND ABSOLUTE FAILURE..
running our foreign affairs.
