Happy New Year to all!

Get well Rush, we miss ya buddy!

gary4205 on January 1, 2010 at 2:48 AM

Of the choices, I had to go with clearly. I love how he uses it constantly to add authority to what he says. The problem is that he’s anything but clear. And the minute someone points out that he’s not being clear, his supporters begin mumbling something about his “highly nuanced” way of thinking and speaking. Sorry, can’t have it both ways: clear and direct or faculty-lounge, navel-contemplating nuance.

To be sure, there are two many quotes to choose from. But two I’ll add are the “acting stupidly” crack at the end of his summer press-fail on health care and then his continual harping that “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor; if you like your employer’s plan, you can keep your employer’s plan.” On the latter quotation, the GOP should be running ads showing the falsehood of that statement. Commonsense tells any idiot that Obamacare will undermine both those assertions. Many will lose their doctors, and no employer-provided coverage will be the same after Obamacare takes hold.

“B-plus” and “you lie” are a dead heat in my mind. “B-plus” is such a blathering lie that it proves the other. Never have so many been fooled by so little substance; bama is a disgrace to the U.S. and virtually every word he utters is proof positive he is a liar and grossly out of his depth!

jgdp on January 1, 2010 at 4:34 AM

clearly the “YOU LIE” retort/quote is the most memorable and by-far the most succinct.

Lourdes on January 1, 2010 at 1:22 AM

Shouldn’t that be “You Lie, BOY!!!”? Isn’t that what MSNBC said that they heard when those words were spoken?

Anyway, I had to vote for “I WON.” Winning the election was Obama’s crowning achievement, and apparently he feels that’s all it takes to be president is to win an election.

UltimateBob on January 1, 2010 at 4:37 AM

“I won” and “I hope he fails”.
Both set the tone for their sides for the entire year and likely the Ones entire term.

Happy New Year to all.

Happy New Year to all at Hot Air…

SHARPTOOTH on January 1, 2010 at 6:10 AM

Rush’s “I hope he fails!” got the ball rolling, but I had to go with “Hide the decline” because of the timing of its becoming public and the quantity and extent of material with which it was released. This blew a huge whole in the dike of “the science is settled” which they cannot patch and, I hope, will lead to a thorough and open a re-examination of the myriad published papers and studies that constitute the most extensive scientific fraud in history.

Oh, and…

Billy Ray: [posing as "Nenge Mboko," an exchange student from Cameroon] Merry New Year!
Beeks: That’s “happy.” In this country we say “Happy New Year.”
Billy Ray: Oh, ho, ho, thank you for correcting my English which stinks!

… to all who post here!

ya2daup on January 1, 2010 at 6:11 AM

Can’t argue with the hands-down winner, “You lie!” (’cause he does it as a matter of course, just like breathing), because of the overwhelming level of contributions made to Wilson’s campaign after the statists mounted their effort to oust him by donating to his likely opponent.

I heard it and it was my first choice. The height of arrogance and stupidity. It has set the tone not only with the administration, but in Congress, too. We have a lot of arrogant fools running around in DC.

But I do love “You lie”, as it give me hope that someone on our side tells it like it is.

They’re all classics. But nothing says it better than “You lie”.

petefrt on January 1, 2010 at 9:20 AM

I would have voted for “you lie”, but Wilson turned all apologetic and “respectfull of the office” in the days after.

So he stated out strong, but he just turned into another azz kissing repub pu-sy in the following days in my books.

If he came out and said “Yes he did, he is a liar here’s why and so on”, the demons never “respected the office” when GWB was in there.

We have a big chance here…if these pu-sys actually fight.

Man charged in fatal stabbing
December 31, 2009 9:34 PM | No Comments

A 34-year-old Chicago man was charged today with fatally stabbing another man on Wednesday after a heated argument on the South Side, officials said.

Junior Thigpen of the 4700 block of West Monroe Street was charged with first-degree murder, police said. He is expected to appear in bond court on Friday, police said.

Rasaan McCord, 32, of the 2900 block of West Fillmore Street was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. McCord died of a stab wound to his neck and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the office.

Police said Thigpen and McCord were both at the apartment of a mutual acquaintance on the 3500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive when the two got into an argument. The argument escalated to a physical struggle and ended with McCord collapsing from a stab wound. Thigpen fled the home, according to police.

McCord was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Wentworth District officers canvassed the area and learned Thigpen’s identity. Thigpen was arrested at a gas station on the 100 block of South Cicero Avenue, police said.

Second City sets Limbaugh spoof

Chris Jones Theater critic

January 1, 2010

Among the folks rooting for the rapid recovery of conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, currently “resting comfortably” at a hospital in Hawaii after suffering chest pains, are those irreverent satirists at Second City Theatricals.

Come February, they plan to tweak the king of radio in “Rush Limbaugh: The Musical!”

The show is the work of the same team who created “Rod Blagojevich Superstar!,” the hugely successful theatrical spoof of the disgraced former governor.

Current plans call for a February “Rush” opening at the Second City e.t.c. stage on Chicago’s North Side. The show will initially play just Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Characters in the piece include Ann Coulter, Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld. Events include imagined teenage confrontations with Hillary Clinton and Barney Frank. Song spoofs draw from “Spring Awakening,” “Rent” and “Wicked.”

upinak is the brains behind this group. I think she asked Hawk and he told her who to contact. The good news is that his group is close to coming home. If you can call eight weeks (ballpark) close.

Happy New Year Allah, Ed, Michelle, Green Room contributors, and Hot Air commenters! Your endless supply of wit and wisdom is the perfect antidote to the corrosive poison regularly dispensed by the dangerous “Progressive” charlatans who threaten our nation’s health and well-being.

“You lie” defined the Obama presidency and he may well be remembered for that like Billy Jeff is remembered for the blue dress and “getting Lewinsky’d” in the oval office.

Thanks for the reminder. Great quote. The whole sordid affair will be his legacy.

I also look forward to the 2010 Quote of the Year from Osama Obama: “I resign!”

MrScribbler on January 1, 2010 at 12:57 AM

I don’t think you thought this all the way through…..

I resign.

Biden’s pops another aneurysm when he gets the news.

I don’t even want to think about where we would be then….
