Terror-week flashback: America will be safer because I’m a good listener, says Obama
posted at 7:17 pm on December 29, 2009 by Allahpundit
The opening caption is unfair (but funny) as The One never says Islamic terror will disappear if we elect him, but given his dogmatic misconceptions about the nature of the threat, it’s worth listening to this as a gloss on the year in terrorism. According to the Rand Corporation, of the 30 homegrown plots detected since 9/11, fully one-third of them surfaced in 2009. Doesn’t mean McCain would have done better, but if the pace of attacks is actually picking up, maybe it’s time to revisit the Hopenchange premise that jihadis care particularly who the president is. In fact, this clip serves as a neat synthesis of his foreign policy, such as it is: By dint of his pure personal awesomeness and sweet Bambi-esque empathy, we’re going to turn all sorts of would-be enemies to our side. Hasn’t worked yet with the Taliban, of course — or Iran, or China, or Russia, or even Hugo Chavez — but it’ll work, er, eventually. No wonder the Democrats aren’t rushing to his aid this week.
Exit question: Which crazed Cheney-like hawk uttered this ode to preemptive action yesterday? “I’d rather, in the interest of protecting people, overreact rather than underreact.” Answer here.

Always keep in mind that despite the heavy security talk, that source (Feinstein, D/CA) has continually advocated, wanted, sought, amnesty for illegals, increased bizarre modifacations of U.S. visas to enable more of whomever to pour into the nation…
Every time I think Feinstein makes sense on security, I read more as to her works behind the scenes to corrupt the immigration process (even more than it already is corrupted) AND WORSE, to thwart most 2nd Amendment rights for Americans.
So her big-talk on national security, in my view, fails the credibility test. It comes off as continued “politicking” (word/spelled?) for purposes of voter-swaying more than credible dedications to actual national security.

And Feinstein, among many other Leftwingers, is utterly in love with Sotomayor’s and Koh’s (among others’) perspectives that the U.S. Constitution *IS* to be modified by laws of other nations per cultural biases.
Never forget that. It’s a fundamentally anti-US-national security position, essentially because it’s an utterly corrupt lack of respect for the U.S. Constitution, what this nation is, a sovereign one.

Obama is living proof that affirmative action is damaging to minds and character. It avoids presenting the hard-awful realities to participants. People assume that the world is theirs by way of “special passes”. Not all participants, but for most, at least.

As chairperson and ranking member of the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee (MILCON) from 2001 through the end of 2005, Feinstein supervised the appropriation of billions of dollars a year for specific military construction projects. Two defense contractors whose interests were largely controlled by her husband, financier Richard C. Blum, benefited from decisions made by Feinstein as leader of this powerful subcommittee.

Whatever will happen will depend on the poll numbers. Even my rabid Obama supporting sibling has come to realize that he made a mistake in voting this guy into office. If Obama can’t hold the leftists like my sibling, he doesn’t have a shot with the moderates.
It is very clear that Obama does not know what to do when he isn’t constantly being told how smart he is. The lower his poll numbers have gone, the more disassociated from reality he seems to be getting. We joke about TOTUS being the real speaker but today’s attempt at undoing the damage of the lapses of his administration were just pathetic.

What some are calling arrogance is really plain ignorance. Obama so misdiagnoses problems and issues, and in such a simple-minded manner, that he thinks he ‘gets it’ and others don’t. In reality, he doesn’t seem to understand much of anything important. To bad he’s our President at the moment. I hope he shed old notions and is able to learn, otherwise we are royally screwed.

The real key to that interview is Sutton’s mention of his friendship with Khalid al Mansour, born Donald Warden. A quick search turns up all sorts of unsavory, radical associations going back decades. “al- Mansour” is also an adviser to that Saudi (Wahhabist) chap, Al-Waleed. Remember him?
al-Mansour hates just about everyone. He’s a nut bag with connections and money.

Heftyjo on December 29, 2009 at 8:30 PM
The President’s unique understanding of muslim countries, coupled with his apparently unique understanding that “our future and our security is tied up with our ability to work with other countries in the world” will ultimately make Americans safer. I defy you to disprove that statement. It cannot be disproven.
It’s akin to the mythical “jobs saved” argument: “yeah, so unemployment exceeds 10 percent, but guess how many jobs would have been lost without the stimulus?”
You think this attempted bombing was bad, well guess how many terrorists acts were averted by our unique understanding of muslim nations? We changed their will with our understanding of muslim nations.
Then, they can trot out some economists to show that the President’s understanding of the world averted countless terrorists acts which would have otherwise taken place. If anyone questions them, the economists can dutifully apply the same mathematics used for the climate change models, and the media will acknowledge that the debate is settled.

Well, there is certainly a reason or a set of reasons WHY Obama will not release defining documents as to just who he is, what his life history actually is beyond the fiction that it looks like Ayers wrote about him under his name (whatever, it’s clear that Obama’s two books were highly edited if not written for him by someone else and I think the analysis I’ve read about the Bill Ayers’ writing style in comparison with Obama’s books, lending support to the conclusion that Ayers wrote the two books, is credible).
For someone in the U.S. PRESIDENCY — for heaven’s sake, the Presidency — to be so highly concealed as to personal details and defining history is beyond belief to me. But by withholding so much about his life from the public, Obama has contributed highly to his own lack of credibility.
Lourdes on December 29, 2009 at 8:51 PM
Yes, agreed, on closer consideration, but, Obama’s general social-assumptions, if not, rather, social PRESUMPTIONS, are due to his ongoing “special passes” — Joe Biden exemplified that well with his description of Obama as “I mean, he’s cleeaannn” remark…
It reflects how it is that the “magical” “first Black President” has coasted on such an irrational level of emotional fervor, translated as support, and Obama the happy traveler has been ever so happy to just allow that to occur.
It’s a manifestation of affirmative action pervading Leftwing, Liberal society: “isn’t he special, he’s the first ____ (color/type/ethnicity here) _____________ (title of ‘special achievement’ here).”
It’s a lowering of standards, an ongoing exception to standards that is not based upon specifics other than, oh, presumed association/membership in that “special class”.
It’s exactly what the Left complains about as to “White people,” deriding Caucasians as all “privileged” and such and by which they engage in racism (the Left does). Look at what happened in South Africa, Caucasians were butchered because of their skin color.

Yet here we have Barack Obama saying “er…because my sister is half Indonesian…and I traveled in my college days…and I’m a good listener” and liberals were so impressed with this fluff that they elected him?
This clip is smoking gun proof that Obama is a fraud who doesn’t understand the first thing about geopolitics.
