Video: Get your nomination in for the Sammies!
posted at 2:00 pm on December 24, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
The Sam Adams Alliance wants to encourage a wide range of activism, and there’s no better way to do that than to establish awards for those who contribute the most in various ways. To honor those who made a difference in 2009, the organization has launched the Sammies — and it’s not just a statuette and a hearty handshake, either:
The Sammies recognize exceptional citizen leaders committed to a freer society. The theme of this year’s Sammies, “We Are All Activists Now”, draws inspiration from this year’s historic burst of political engagement, manifest in tea parties, town halls, and a surge of citizen leadership at the state and local levels.
Cash prizes totaling $20,000 will be awarded to individuals who make significant contributions to the advancement of economic and individual liberty in the following categories:
Blogger: $3,000
Video: $3,000
Watchdog: $3,000
Town Hall: $3,000
Tea Party: $3,000
Modern-Day Sam Adams: $5,000All entries are due by February 17, 2010, and winners will be flown to Chicago and awarded at a red-carpet event in April.
I can attest from personal experience that the folks at the Sam Adams Alliance are serious, tireless advocates for individual liberty, limited government. They deserve a Sammie themselves, but this gives us an opportunity to recognize others and encourage more people to join the cause.

This is wonderful.
A great Christmas present.

Crowder’s going to win.

O’Keefe and Hannah going undercover and exposing ACORN was huge. Crowder could take one category, maybe. It will be a tough call.

This would be hard to choose, but I would have to go with the ‘Tea Parties’. Citizens all over America are getting their voices heard like never before. The blogs, HA, MM, etc. have done more to inform us on what is happening in our country. We would never get the news from the msm!
WND has a poll for the ‘Person of the Year’ also. They have ten great choices to elect. I haven’t voted yet because there are too many good ones to decide. Y’all might want to check it out.

Heck if the Caliph gets rid of the filibuster maybe they get rid of all the other less important awards and concentrate on the Sammies?
Could we have an award for the biggest liar in D.C.?
What would you call it?

What should be next on the agenda of anyone who is opposed to the Reid health bill is to get involved with the Scott Brown for US Senate campaign in Massachusetts.
http://www.brownforussenate.com
We have the chance to TAKE AWAY HARRY REID’S 60TH VOTE!
The health bill will need at least one more vote to pass the combined bill, and that won’t be until February. The special election for US Senate is January 19.
WHEN SCOTT BROWN WINS, HARRY WON’T HAVE 60 VOTES!
We need to get involved, send support, write our newspapers and GET THIS STORY ON THE FRONT PAGES.
Sadly, most Massachusetts voters don’t even know there IS a special election.
WE NEED TURNOUT! THE HIGHER THE TURNOUT, THE MORE LIKELY A WIN IS FOR BROWN.
The national GOP organizations have all but ignored this race – little press, little funding.
If people are serious about being against the Reid health bill, they need to get active NOW and start talking up Scott Brown on a national level. We need support
and media coverage to get out the vote!
THIS should be at the top of our agenda. We still have some
serious work ahead – the battle to save the US health care system IS NOT OVER!

Hot Air for blogger Sammie!
Andrew Breitbart for Modern Day Sam Adams.
The woman who held up a $20 at her town hall meeting and told the congresscritter to come and take it.

“You Lie!” It might have been the wrong PLACE to say it, but – then again – it might have been the perfect place to say it!
As we approach the ’10 elections, you’re going to hear that battle cry over and over and over….

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles for every award. They were game changers this year.
…plus she’s hot.
Mojave Mark on December 24, 2009 at 2:49 PM
That would be the Pinocchio Award; or, thas a Peace Prize. No sense giving it twice.
While I give great big air *smooches* to HA and sons, Ms. Malkin is the founder of the feast and a seriously hard hittin’ blogger in her own right. Plus I’d much rather give her the smooch.
The Sammies are ginormously cool.

BayCommie State do you? Call the SoS’s Office, tell them you’re from the Executive Offices of some Commie Public Sector Union and need to know the vote tallies today to get your press release ready after the “election” and they’ll give you the numbers now.TheBigOldDog on December 24, 2009 at 3:40 PM

I maxed to Scott Brown the other day. I know it won’t be easy for him to win, but desperate times require desperate measures. I’d urge all to give what they can.

Is that the pic from that day, or the one from a Promise-Keepers rally in the past that someone tried to pass off as being from 9/12?
Midas on December 24, 2009 at 6:26 PM
Almost.
The difference is, of course, the lefties infiltrated an existing party – a party with organization and a machine in place.. They didn’t go try to start a new one.
If you want to defeat these Democrat cockroaches, you’d be better off, trying to figure out a way to unify all of those on the right, using the existing structure.
The divisiveness that exists among the right – the conservative purists vs. conservative moderates is a road to nowhere.

Addendum to my 6:33 PM comment…
Have any of you un-bending, hard-core conservative Purists taken the time to read the Republican Platform?
Are the views, and the goals, of the Republican Party that much different than yours?
Are they so much different, that a new party is needed?
Given; There are individuals in the Republican Party, that drive me up the wall sometimes… But, let’s not let them be a reflection of the entire party.
With strength in numbers, we can show the squishy ones out the door.
Unity is all I’m asking for.. Unity against a common enemy.
