Blue on blue III: Fearless press secretary faces down Chinese communists

posted at 9:34 pm on December 18, 2009 by Allahpundit

Proof positive that we’ve been approaching him the wrong way. Instead of trying to stifle his natural aggression, we should have been trying to harness it. Like a wild bronco, this horse just wants to kick; the trick is making sure the right person is standing behind him when he does.

Dude, we need to get him in the same room as Chavez.

Isn’t that cute!

Gibbs wanted to bring his puppets.

“My guys”

…first thing I caught from that.

Saltysam on December 19, 2009 at 12:16 AM

I’d love to see the Chicom version of this.

Robert17 on December 19, 2009 at 12:19 AM

Now that Gibblette has stood up for his press buddies, they have to return the favor, by saying good things about him. Maybe they’ll call him Machoman from now on

“My guys gotta get in because they work for us.”

Who uses the word kerfuffle?

thomasaur on December 18, 2009 at 9:59 PM

Here’s a clip of someone using the word “kerfuffle.” I used it a fair bit when I was a kid.

This Copenhagen thing is a fiasco for Obama…now he is flying home to 20 inches of global warming…Chavez breaks up with Obama, Gibbs finds out all the food has been eaten, Gore is in some coffee shop reading poems with bongo drums laying down the beat. The economy is going down the drain, they are happy about unemployment just barely being over 10%, medicare is being torn apart, and health care is 3,000 pages that no one has seen, read, but will vote on…what a world we live in.

Hu’s on first?

Hu.

What’s the guys name on 1st base?

DSchoen on December 19, 2009 at 12:46 AM

I would be more impressed if the press secretary fought for this type of transparency and coverage of Obama’s policies.

You know…
….all that “Transparency” that we were promised….
……….debates being shown on CSPAN……

Instead we have closed door meetings and deals with pharmaceuticals companies…..closed door meetings (with only democrats) on bills and amendments…..
……refusals to release documents concerning National Security, visitor lists, financial agreements with banks and car companies…the list goes on and on and on.

Yea Gibbs really cares about freedom of the press and transparency as long as it does not pertain to Obama and the democratic party.

Not impressed.

The Chinese reporter told gibbles n bits. Hu’s your daddy.

Laughing at your astute observations, cruel , but true that they are.
Only wishing the humor holds up as we spiral into the great hell-hole.

betsyz on December 19, 2009 at 1:20 AM

Well it is exactly that pushy me-and-my-American-posse first attitude that causes the world to hate us and inspires terrorists to attack us.

Way to go in isolating the US and inspiring al-Qaeda, moron.

Who uses the word kerfuffle?

Flight of the Conchords do

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ozSSseCh3U

“My sugarlumps are two of a kind – sweet and white and highly refined
Honies try all kinds of tomfoolery to steal a feel of my family jewelry
My cannonballs cause a kerfuffle – the ladies they hustle to ruffle my truffle
If you party with the Party Prince, you get two complimentary after-dinner mints”

Fed45 on December 19, 2009 at 1:42 AM

I think this is awesome, kudos to Gibbs. Doing his job. Too bad it’s the first time I’ve seen him do it properly.

JustTruth101 on December 19, 2009 at 3:47 AM

Lets see now. Was CNN as “Excited” when President Bush himself physically pulled his own staff, I believe it was a security person into a room in a South American Country or in Mexico.

That was real balls.

oped01 on December 19, 2009 at 3:57 AM

Hu wants a kiss?

yoda on December 19, 2009 at 3:57 AM

They have to come in, someone has to change Gibbs Diaper.

oped01 on December 19, 2009 at 4:01 AM

yawn, only dorks who work in media would find that ‘amazing’

I wish the press had as much interest in getting into the room that the socializing of our Country is being hashed out at the Senate right now.

tatersalad on December 19, 2009 at 5:51 AM

Sanchez is the worst “reporter” on air. His only talent lies in drinking, driving, running over a pedestrian, and getting away with it. I’m assuming he was a HUGE Ted Kennedy supporter……….

adamsmith on December 19, 2009 at 6:08 AM

Snore… The same thing went on at the all-you-can-eat buffet line, the topless girly show bars in downtown Copenhagen, and the overcrowded toilets.

Tip to Gibbs – Don`t show up at the last minute thinking you have the royal right to front row seats.

Who uses the word kerfuffle?

thomasaur on December 18, 2009 at 9:59 PM

James Taranto, Wall Street Opinion Journal, Best of the Web popularized this word a few years ago. Best of the Web is a fun read. Check it out.

BottomLine5 on December 19, 2009 at 7:34 AM

He had to make sure the Obama sycophants got in.

csdeven on December 19, 2009 at 8:04 AM

ah, painting Gibbs, the king of subterfuge as “on the side of american journalism”. The CNN propaganda machine never sleeps.

marklmail on December 19, 2009 at 8:04 AM

tatersalad on December 19, 2009 at 5:51 AM

You said it! The MSM is afraid to question anything that goes on with the Democrats.

yoda on December 19, 2009 at 8:09 AM

“MY GUYS”? MY GUYS? Oh, yeah, the ones with their heads buried up Obama’s rear end. THOSE guys.

Porky Pig rides again! Oink! Oink! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeealll!

bradley11 on December 19, 2009 at 8:17 AM

Aren’t the ChiComs to the right of Ob+ama and Gibberish?

mr.blacksheep on December 19, 2009 at 8:57 AM

Anybody else wanted to see that Chinese dude grab Gibbs’ finger in a Kung Fu move, break it off and hold it up to his face before he even felt the pain?

Dr. ZhivBlago on December 19, 2009 at 10:01 AM

Good for Gibbs.

Chuckles3 on December 19, 2009 at 10:22 AM

Love this idiot’s spur of the moment Chinese accent – does this kind of sh** come naturally to lefties?!?!

abobo on December 19, 2009 at 12:26 PM

This kind of behavior is common among the people of the PRC. Now, this is not a race thing. This is a cultural thing. China may be an economic powerhouse, BUT most people have to scrape and take care of number one to survive in this country of extreme wealth on the one hand and extreme poverty on the other. The result: the pushy, aggressive, impolite behavior in this video. I have seen similar in other parts of Asia. Manners have not caught up with “wealth” in China. In fact, I would argue that Imperial China had a lot of superior features to what we have now. Now what we have is this confusion of old and new and rich and poor.
Even IF one gets rich, one does not know what to do with the money (more often than not) in the first place in China. The Chinese must now relearn civility. Gibbs, from a cultural standpoint, got a nice dose of what I know commonly happens when a group of PRC Chinese show up. Not racist tones. Cultural notes here. Why do you think the citizens of Hong Kong continue to insist they are “different” from the PRC Chinese? And, no, it is not
a Mandarin vs. Cantonese thing, either. Culture, my friends, culture.
Even Gibbs had to fight his way out. Yeah, I give him that much and no more. A good dose of “global” reality for the man, eh?

Mr. Potato-Head goes to Copenhagen… What could go wrong?

“My guys gotta get in because they work for us.”
FireBlogger on December 19, 2009 at 12:24 AM

Thank you Fireblogger, great catch. When I heard it I was not to surprised, because it is evidence that the media is in the hip-pocket of the administration who has bought and paid them.

Also, evidence why the media is as arrogant about various subjects involving President Obama.

If America wants to be communistic, amerika needs to submit to the Cuban, Chinese and Russian forefathers of the movement.
