Quotes of the day

posted at 10:37 pm on December 16, 2009 by Allahpundit

“Climategate just got much, much bigger. And all thanks to the Russians who, with perfect timing, dropped this bombshell just as the world’s leaders are gathering in Copenhagen to discuss ways of carbon-taxing us all back to the dark ages…

“What the Russians are suggesting here, in other words, is that the entire global temperature record used by the IPCC to inform world government policy is a crock.”

***
“It’s true, and it’s huge. Today another example of CRU having their foot on the scale, Russian papers are reporting that the Russian surface station data was sorted by CRU to use the highest warming stations only.”

macncheez on December 17, 2009 at 1:46 AM

How do your suppose we do that?

Kini on December 17, 2009 at 1:55 AM

it is fun to laugh at these people, but it is a tragedy that we have come to the point that we are “governed” by a coalition of the dumb, the bought, the lunatic fringe, the crooks, and the would-be tyrants.

even if you believe the surface temps have increased, the question is still: why?

http://pielkeclimatesci.wordpress.com/2009/12/16/q-a-is-the-human-addition-of-carbon-dioxide-the-primary-human-climate-forcing/

the coalition (plus their PR flacks) think they know…but what if they are wrong about the reason?

the dumb and the dangerous.

That is a perfect idea.
Are you related to Palin?

I’ve never seen so many whack jobs in one place in all my life. At least they responded honestly.

If you want to see mass suicides in the AGW cult, suggest that there’s data that proves smoking marijuana contributes to climate change.

Ah the well meaning ignorant masses. All emotion and no cognition. I believe the term is “useful idiots”?

Lord Monckton for straight man of the millennium …
How does he do it….

jerrytbg on December 17, 2009 at 7:14 AM

Those people sound just like the Obama voters.”I don’t have any facts, but I’m sure what I’ve been told is right.”What a bunch of morons.

DDT on December 17, 2009 at 7:33 AM

Shameful spoil sport! Idiots have a right (in the Constitution isn’t it) to be ignorant and to rant. We elect Vice Presidents who are worse. It follows that it must be in the Constitution.

I thought the guy on the left, wearing eye glasses and a billed cap at the very end, was quite humble and honest and deserves applause for such a display of openness and honesty and humility!

Bravo!

nutjob scientists from the 50′s sci-fi movies, where they

God Bless Lord Monckton!

HE represents what remains of the Enlightenment that Marxists scurry to extinguish via indoctrination requiring faith in fraud.

Don’t take my word for it. RESEARCH and demand the application of scholarly discipline from your sources and from yourself. THAT is education, and is yet available to everyone with internet access. But THAT scholarly education which people can afford themselves is contingent upon the literal paper trail of documentation that electronics permit corrupted. In other words, support and protect the paper document archives and libraries from being out-phased.

maverick muse on December 17, 2009 at 8:25 AM

The AWG fraud will not die and they will not give it up.
From the LAT:

Reporting from Copenhagen – Attempting to revive climate negotiations that appear dangerously close to flat-lining, the Obama administration announced today that it would join allies in raising $100 billion by 2020 to help the world’s poorest countries adapt to climate change.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in a press conference here that the unspecified American share of the money would come from public and private sources, would fund measures such as protecting carbon-heavy forests from logging and would be contingent upon nations reaching a broad agreement here that would lay the groundwork for a new treaty to combat global warming.

That’s right at least a $100 billion of our money will go to a pay-off to third world nations in order to stop AWG. Who knew that third world countries could control climate. It must be the one with nature, noble savage crap we here about from the left. Maybe they will sacrifice a few goats to appease Gaia.

“What the Russians are suggesting here, in other words, is that the entire global temperature record used by the IPCC to inform world government policy is a crock.”

They say the Bamster will ‘rescue’ the Copengogen conference when he appears near the end. How will he do this? It frightens me to imagine…

Anyone else having trouble with the sound on the video?

ohellno on December 17, 2009 at 8:35 AM

Look at the hoops we have to jump through just to debate with idiots. We send a brilliant scientist into the streets to present factual data to econuts who are there because they believe in a hoax. This is what happens when they free press doesn’t do it’s job properly.

Kissmygrits on December 17, 2009 at 8:36 AM

Hoaxenhagen: Working hard to create a global welfare system.

If they succeed, they’ll have “developing” countries in the Marxist pocket just like the communist democrats have blacks in theirs.

Painful to watch with the language barrier, but at least they weren’t jumping around like a bunch of monkeys and putting stickers on his back.

It’s hilarious watching these morons rail about the planet getting hotter and hotter, yet doing everything they can to keep from freezing to death in the Copenhagen winter.

Sorry I’m late to the party, and I know many others already commented on this, but you nailed the whole thing perfectly with that line. Who would ever have thought such a thing, say, during the 80s?

Everyone who purchased carbon credits should get their money back.

disa on December 17, 2009 at 12:31 AM

the people who purchased carbon credits used the “environmentalism” as an excuse to charge more for there product.

The money should go to put in energy infrastructure into third world countries.

Slowburn on December 17, 2009 at 9:43 AM

The tests need to be done in areas where conditions are roughly the same in terms of population, as they were in the past. Odds are in those locations, you’re going to see little, if any, deviation in temperatures over the past 50-60 years than what’s due to the normal variances in annual climate patterns.

jon1979 on December 17, 2009 at 12:15 AM

Even in places where population has stayed the same, because people have grown wealthier, urbanization still occurs. Bigger houses, air conditioning added, more cars, more roads, new retail outlets with accompanying parking lots.

The truth is that the ground based temperature network was never designed to track small temperature changes over decades and centuries.

Every single station has issues. Either changes in the immediate location, changes in the surrounding area, changes in equipment, changes in the location of the equipment, or any combination of the above.

Finally, most of these changes are completely undocumented. This makes it impossible to accurately “fix” the record.

MarkTheGreat on December 17, 2009 at 9:56 AM

Lord Monckton’s other video naming the fraudsters and the fraud is well worth seeing if you haven’t already.

Just grand!

Whodathunk it that Obama would wind up opposing his old friends, the Russians, on a leftwing socialist agenda item?
Strange days indeed.
