Just like liberals are always about “following the money” when it comes to big oil (who Obama took hundereds of thousands of dollars from) and Haliburton (who liberals never seem to care about when a democrat is using them and giving them contracts like LBJ,Clinton,and Obama):

Reviewing their lobbying filings, you might think you were looking at Al Gore’s agenda. GE’s specific lobbying issues included the “Climate Stewardship Act,” “Electric Utility Cap and Trade Act,” “Global Warming Reduction Act,” “Federal Government Greenhouse Gas Registry Act,” “Low Carbon Economy Act,” and “Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act.”

This isn’t altruism or public relations. GE has started a joint venture called Greenhouse Gas Services, which invests in — and hopes to manage the trade in — greenhouse gas credits. But these investments and this trading floor are of basically no use and nearly no value without government restrictions on greenhouse gases.

Obama’s budget includes the payoff, promising to start a multibillion-dollar greenhouse gas industry by 2012. In a letter this week, GE’S Immelt told shareholders that current events present an “opportunity of a lifetime,” because “capitalism will be ‘reset.’ ”

But…But….But Obama said lobbyist would not work for him and would not have the influence they had in the past….

But the deeper question is why the scientists behaved this way to begin with, especially since the science behind man-made global warming is said to be firmly settled. To answer the question, it helps to turn the alarmists’ follow-the-money methods right back at them.

Consider the case of Phil Jones, the director of the CRU and the man at the heart of climategate. According to one of the documents hacked from his center, between 2000 and 2006 Mr. Jones was the recipient (or co-recipient) of some $19 million worth of research grants, a sixfold increase over what he’d been awarded in the 1990s.

…You mean if the eco-fundamentalist can get everybody to believe that the world is coming to an end unless they go “green” with the help of Al-Gore’s companies and the scientist who help push this agenda they stand to make hundreds of millions of dollars?????

I thought it was Obama and his liberal friends that keep on telling everybody not to give in to “fear tatics” and “scaremongering”.

The fact that Al-Gore’s personal income has gone up to over a hundred million and stands to go into the billions when his companies reap the windfalls of the “chicken little” scare tatics used by the Eco-Fundamentalist does not seem to bother liberals at all.

It’s all about Cheney getting those bonuses owed to him from Haliburton.

Gore himself joined the venture capital group, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers just last September. On May 1, the firm announced a $500 million investment in maturing green technology firms called the Green Growth Fund.

The group announced another $700 million to be invested over the next three years in green-tech startup firms. But if the green technology business, uh, cools down, there will be no return on that investment. There would be no need for such investments if global warming wasn’t a threat. So Gore just launched, among other things, a $300 million on an ad campaign to convince us it is so.

Speaking at a conference in Monterey, Calif., on March 1, the former vice president admitted to having “a stake” in a number of green investments into which he recommended attendees put money rather than “subprime carbon assets” such as tar sands and shale oil. He also is co-founder and chairman of Generation Investment Management, which sells carbon offsets that allow rich polluters to continue polluting with a clear conscience.

Over….and…over…and….over the facts show that Al-Gore stands to become incredibly wealthy right along with the green companies that he has helped start up and the ones lobbying for billions of dollars on Capital Hill.

We spent the last eight years hearing the whining and crying about “K street” and “Republicans being owned by lobbyist” only to get dumba$$ blank looks and total silence from liberals now that a democrat is in office neck deep in lobbyist.

But just how much is Al Gore playing with here? Well, let’s put aside his already well-known exploits (carbon offsets, $100,000 speaking fees, books, movies, Nobel prizes, etc) and look at some of his “other” projects.

What is of interest here is the fact that Al Gore chairs a firm that makes money on the performance of their investments and invests in things that benefit from Al Gore’s environmental hysteria. In other words, Al Gore makes money when these investments perform well; and these investments perform well when Al Gore goes out and cheerleads for environmentalism and sustainability. But let’s take a closer look at where Generation has it’s money and how it is that they have outperformed market benchmarks lately:

Autodesk: $23,086,000

This was a mystery until I found their “sustainability” initiative section. “We provide technology, education, and support for programs that inform and promote innovations addressing current and future sustainable design challenges.” In other words, green design and engineering.

Blackbaud, Inc: $19,558,000

“Blackbaud is the leading global provider of software and related services designed specifically for nonprofit organizations.” Enough said.

Donaldson, Inc: $10,920,000

Specializes in filtration equipment. Currently design and sell “clean diesel” emissions systems.

General Electric: $29,475,000

GE owns NBC/MSNBC. GE is well positioned to make huge money off the Green movement. For an overview, check out GE’s “Ecomagination” site.

Greenhill & Co: $21,970,000

This one was a bit of a mystery until I discovered that Greenhill runs a venture capital fund that invested in YellowJacket which is involved in energy trading. The goal of the venture investment? “Firm Aims to Accelerate Growth in Energy Trading Marketplace”

Johnson Controls: $47,609,000

“Johnson Controls, a global leader in developing energy-efficient and sustainable solutions, is working at the forefront, developing batteries that will power current—and future generation high efficiency, lower carbon footprint vehicles.” Need I say more?

Metabolix: $6,672,000

Produces “natural”sustainable plastics including a “50-50 joint venture with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), to commercialize the production of Mirel™ natural plastics.”

This is why Al-Gore can make a complete fool out of himself concerning this “Man Made Global Warming Hoax” time after time because facts and reality don’t matter when it comes to the major profits he looks to rake in with the help of the liberal sheep like bleeds blue.

Gore has already stated that science does not matter…it will not get in the way of his liberal agenda:

In any other industry this would be considered a severe conflict of interest. In essence, Al Gore has helped to create a fictitious catastrophe, then told everybody what the solutions have to be, and then put himself in a position to capitalize on the hype.
