Video: Palin gets revenge on master thespian William Shatner
posted at 9:33 pm on December 11, 2009 by Allahpundit
Yeah, he’s pals with Rush. But even so — he had it coming.
Somewhere Chris Matthews is watching this and thinking, in all seriousness, “She can read.”

Lots of great photos on her Facebook page with Shatner and the Wounded Warriors. You can tell what really matters to her by the number of Wounded Warrior photos, and the fact she ain’t in every picture:

If this was Obama……….
gary4205 on December 12, 2009 at 2:56 PM
That was really good! I love that the governor is such a good sport. That was quite a reception she got from the audience. I know there were a lot of Wounded Warriors there, but still — it’s heartening to see such a warm welcome from such a liberal stronghold as Los Angeles.

RE: The snarky comments on “Political Byline” saying that the “fanboy fans” of Sarah are a bit too much here on Hot Air…
You know, I’m pretty sick of the peeps who complain about Palin supporters. I’m one of the very mild sort and it’s getting pretty annoying when they compare ‘em to the Braindead Obamabot Zombies.
Gob on December 12, 2009 at 3:40 PM
that was hilarious, one of the funniest moments on late night with a politician I’ve seen a while. Though that Master Thespian bit with the legendary William Shatner is a great bit to begin with.
Daemonocracy on December 12, 2009 at 3:43 PM
She’s been through the mill. As far as what policies she will implement when she arrives in 2012? I don’t know all of them. If you do, more power to you. Please share.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 3:44 PM
Cluebat for people who think they’ve got me “figured out”:
My first post to this thread…
As far as my real criticism of her, also found in this thread, it was in response to someone who said they “couldn’t see anything negative” and wanted something (of course they didn’t… they just wanted to prove that Palin is perfect, which is dumb).
Somehow saying that because Palin doesn’t speak about a fair amount of policy with the passion she speaks about other stuff, which makes me question what she may truly believe on those policies, that makes me a deranged Palin-hating lib. You idiots.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 3:49 PM
Way to burn down that strawman LibTired.
Honestly if you don’t like your PoV being criticized why are you on this site?
Neo on December 12, 2009 at 3:56 PM
She sounds like she’s parroting those lines, as bad as Shatner. Brrrr-AWWK!
voxpopuli on December 12, 2009 at 3:57 PM
Obviously, these are new standards to elect someone by – as this wasn’t the criteria used for putting the guy in that occupies the White house now – or he’d still be voting “present” in the Senate – instead of “running” the Country into the ground.
Why the “change?”
Oopsdaisy on December 12, 2009 at 3:57 PM
If the shoe fits. They’re both empty-suited rabblerousers; demogagues in the extreme. I see no difference in that respect.

Yee-haw! Best be fixin’ up sum bisskits ‘cuz the Caribou Queen is here!
voxpopuli on December 12, 2009 at 4:03 PM
Correct. More than that, I’m tired of being fooled by people who run conservative but then mysteriously veer left. I know Palin is generally the real deal, but that’s exactly why I find it tough to take when she starts “reciting” instead of talking with passion.
That of course makes me a sexist racist socialist moby concern troll who does nothing but parrot liberal talking points.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 4:11 PM
Oh geez …
Palin no difference, empty, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- voxtinkerbelli
darwin on December 12, 2009 at 4:15 PM
Huh? I love my PoV being criticized. What are you talking about?
I think it’s hilarious that someone asks for something negative about Palin… I volunteer it and it’s a pretty light negative… and immediately I am designated a liberal parrot here to ruin things for everyone. Granted, “she’s done” could have done with a sarc tag, but I don’t do sarc tags.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 4:16 PM
Don’t they say past is prologue, or some sort of philosophical sounding nonsense?
Do two things, just two little, simple things: (A) Go look at how she governed in Alaska (B) Read her book.
After doing those two incredibly simple and quite enjoyable things, you’ll know everything you need to know about policies, ideas, and so forth.
Unlike most filthy lying politicians, like say Obama, Sarah is not all that hard to understand. She says what she means, and means what she says. Sit down, read Going Rogue, An American Life, and when you are finished, you will have read one of the better policy books out there. You’ll know exactly how Sarah Palin will govern as President.
gary4205 on December 12, 2009 at 4:17 PM
Day-yam, that was a great reception she got from the usually moonbat Conan audience.
james23 on December 12, 2009 at 4:20 PM
Pick ANY Palin angle or topic (really does not matter which)
Every syllable typed, thought, or spoken in failed attempts to cast her in bad light only serves to display the continuing and abject HORROR of those critics.(if she was the ditz they claim they’d ignore her)
And just as long as she keeps on scaring them we keep on liking her more and more………..rock ON Guvnah P!
Katfish on December 12, 2009 at 4:20 PM
Not all the time. I question anyone who believes this about any politician. And I don’t mean that to be funny with you. I love Palin, but I’m not blinded by her. I feel we’ve been roughed up too many times by people who we swore were genuinely conservative and I’m not making an exception now just because Palin is so talented and authentic (and upsets libs so much).
I haven’t gotten her book yet. I’ll read it eventually. But I don’t need convincing about Palin. The only bloody thing I said was that she speaks sometimes in friendly interviews about policy and it’s way too rote for me. It doesn’t match the passion she has when she talks about, for example, her love for this country. Aside from jokes where I satirized dopey libs, that was the full extent of my criticism of her in this thread. In its entirety.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 4:26 PM
Leave LibTired alone guys. There is nothing wrong with reserving full commitment on someone who is running. Even Glenn Beck, who loves Sarah, says he doesn’t know enough about her.
In fact we should support Sarah as she expresses conservative ideals and values, but always be watchful for when she is just talking the talk. Remember, Obama ran as a Conservative. Now obviously Sarah is more trust worthy than Obama, but we as voters and as people who digest politics as a passion, should always have a healthy distrust of government and those who run.
Conservative Voice on December 12, 2009 at 4:29 PM
You just had to go and say it better than I did, didn’t you.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 4:31 PM
Those comments are some of my favorite on the site.
Re: passion, I hope her passion for policy never exceeds her love of country. I like her values in the order they are, actually. I think the book tour has been helpful, in flushing out her views, on immigration for example.
Spirit of 1776 on December 12, 2009 at 4:31 PM
Of course, she hasn’t said she will run, so for now I am enjoying Palin as a citizen with a cause.
Conservative Voice on December 12, 2009 at 4:31 PM
Awwh… thanks, 76.
LibTired on December 12, 2009 at 4:35 PM
Ah yes. Keep trying, lefties. The harder you work to try and make Governor Palin look like the incompetent boob, the more you look like incompetent boobs… and the harder she laughs at you.
As an aside… I was unaware of the title of Shatner’s book. You mean it’s not “I, Shat: On Myself”?
Red Cloud on December 12, 2009 at 4:36 PM
Not at all (IMO). Most of us here are tired of the standards “imposed” on conservatives are not applicable to the liberal candidates they support.
I have no problem (and nobody here should) with you wanting to know as much as you can about a candidate – before making a decision. That is one of my (several) pet peeves with those of the liberal persuasion that inhabit the leftist sites – that they don’t know – nor care that their “man” has little knowledge – and no desire to find out and do what is right by our Country – but he is the best for the job. – Based on?????
And these same people have totally unreasonable – utter disdain for someone who has a pretty good track record in an important executive position.
People (myself included) here get defensive pretty quickly when they read someone who gives the appearance of being the type described above.
Oopsdaisy on December 12, 2009 at 4:57 PM
I understand you skepticism. It’s hard to believe in anyone these days, especially politicians, and at the end of the day, Sarah is a politician.
I think the reason you see some of us have what you’d call “full commitment” to her, is the fact we have watched her for years. We knew about this jewel before most of the country did. So we’ve had longer to get to know and understand what she is about.
Is she perfect, hell no, but she’s certainly head and shoulders above anything we have seen in decades in the political realm.
As far as walking the walk, she has. Again, is she foulable, of course, she’s not a messiah, like Obama! But you can bet if she says something, she means it.
But again, I see this differently, simply because I’ve followed her a lot longer. Shoot, we were out there passing petitions around to have her drafted as Veep!
I think what you are seeing in some of the “policy” interviews is the fact that you’ve already heard it a hundred times, and she’s already said it a hundred times.
And really, there’s only so many ways one can say “we’re screwed” and make it sound new and fresh!
That’s why you get more out of her book, and truly, from Facebook. When she blogs there, it’s something she is passionate about, and she can get her point across quite well.
Like I say, I know I come at Sarah a little different than some here, just because I’ve had longer to scope her out. Longer to see what she’ll do.
Unless there is some sort of superhuman that no one has ever heard of, who just pops on the stage, then I have zero interest in the rest, and even then, I can’t feature them being worth a look, because if they were, we’d already know their name.
To me, it’s all about who her Veep should be (Rick Perry, I hope) and who she picks for her cabinet. The rest doesn’t matter. For me, the sale has been made!
gary4205 on December 12, 2009 at 5:15 PM
I echo part of that. She was expressing my views on energy and energy independence before her nomination, so I have a backlog of confidence in her.
Spirit of 1776 on December 12, 2009 at 5:24 PM

darwin on December 12, 2009 at 5:47 PM
that was downright delightful, I laughed from the humor and also from glee
thebrokenrattle on December 12, 2009 at 6:12 PM
I’m guessing that what you see as ‘rote’ is her continuous recitations of common sense conservative ideals that WILL get America out of the pre-existing mess that 0bama has tripled, or if you prefer, has built on. If so then you remind me how I often revert to the ‘rote’ of telling my coworkers to be careful as they could easily get hurt.
Common sense is quite repetitious as it is always ‘right’.
