Quotes of the day
posted at 10:20 pm on December 10, 2009 by Allahpundit
“If every great cause requires an even greater villain, Democratic greens have found one in Sarah Palin…
“‘Before Sarah Palin writes a book, she should try reading a few,’ said Rep. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.), who followed up with a series of peer-reviewed reports on rising sea levels, air temperatures and ocean acidity.
“Palin’s position is ‘worse than one of denial – it’s one of defeatism,’ added Inslee, echoing earlier comments by former Vice-President Al Gore…
“Asked if Obama should stand up to Palin personally, Inslee shot back: ‘There are those in the birther movement encouraged by the former governor of Alaska who don’t even believe he’s president.’”
***
“Don’t be fooled about climate science. In April, 1994 — long after scientists had clearly demonstrated the addictive quality and devastating health impacts of cigarette smoking — seven chief executives of major tobacco companies denied the evidence, swearing under oath that nicotine was not addictive.
“Now, the American public is again being subjected to those kinds of denials, this time about global climate change. While former Alaska governor Sarah Palin wrote in her Dec. 9 op-ed that she did not deny the ‘reality of some changes in climate,’ she distorted the clear scientific evidence that Earth’s climate is changing, largely as a result of human behaviors. She also badly confused the concepts of daily weather changes and long-term climate trends when she wrote that ‘while we recognize the occurrence of these natural, cyclical environmental trends, we can’t say with assurance that man’s activities cause weather changes.’ Her statement inaccurately suggests that short-term weather fluctuations must be consistent with long-term climate patterns. And it is the long-term patterns that are a cause for concern.”

Interesting to watch…
A private citizen of the United States of America has the whole Environmental Religion of Global Climate Change on the defense for it’s very existence.
I think Sarah’s next move would be to ask for a RICO investigation to all those involved starting with Al Gore.
Force them to PROVE it in a court of law. Discovery should be fun, especially with our new found friends in Great Britain.
… THAT would be a HOOT!

In fact, the truth is that most of these people do not care what effect they have on people at all. If the people in the world have to keep living in huts and cooking over dung fires so that some self righteous and fanatical environmentalist can globe trot to all sorts of conferences in the name of saving the planet..well that is just fine with them. You would think that if they are trying to save the planet from utter ruin that they would at least video conference some of these get togethers.
And then there are the growing instances of carbon emission trading fraud. The next big boondoggle, brought to you by the same sort of people who engineered the Food for Oil scam in Iraq.

I’m global warming neutral. Unlike Rush and Drudge, I don’t dismiss it out of hand on the ground that, “God wouldn’t allow it.”, but neither do I trust that that the science in support of global warming is either apolitical or settled. And considering how secretive the global warming “scientists” are with their data, and the recent confirmation that at least some of them have short-circuited the peer-review process, I think the entire branch of study is now suspect until proven otherwise.
They need to release their raw data so that it can undergo a real peer review process. Until then, they can take their snake oil and shove it and stop pretending to be scientists.

For her shock n awe to hit as hard as it should and as deep as it should , for her words to deserve repeated reading/broadcasting , over and over again, by her “targets” , Gov Palin should start using less time and less words to convery her thoughts.
We know she is honest, her instincts are right and she can read not only the lines but also between the lines. She should stop answeringing in the “Yes Primeminister” like spirals of phrases and start using smaller sentences with more impactful words.

The recent email hack indicated that the peer review process itself was tampered with, apparently successfully, to hide the weakness of the global warming case. Even if only some AGW “scientists” were involved in the corruption, others in the AGW movement would also have unknowingly benefited, (if you can it that), from the corrupted peer review process.
So even the science of those that aren’t involved in the corruption is highly suspect at this point.

Anyone who still believes fervently in apocalyptic, and that is what the claims were, global warming has got something seriously wrong with them.
Maybe ten years of no global warming at all, even a bit of cooling, isn’t enough to make the most previously fervent global warming believer into a global warming atheist, maybe that would take another ten years, but it should be at least enough to make them a global warming agnostic.

Starlink on December 10, 2009 at 11:33 PM
It occurs to me that what the global warming “scientists” did to corrupt the peer review process is very similar to what the Democrats have been trying to do with conservatives and the Tea Party movement. It’s probably no coincidence that both groups seem to be following the Alinsky-Coward/Pivon strategies, which need not be said is incompatible with both science and democracy.

Exactly,
but the only problem is that not every issue has the intrinsic capability to be framed into a short 2-3 word reduction.
Every interviewer she sits down with is in search of a “gotcha” moment, well maybe not Hannity and Beck, but hey even BillO tried that! Everytime any interviewer asks her about her thoughts or feelings, he/she is not at all interested in either of that. So she shouldn’t provide him/her with that.
Its a very different game for her.
She should start taking control of the content and direction of every interview. Not only her facebook postings , but every radio and TV interview should go her way, and only she can do that. I know it.

Why is it that even people who realize that AGW is a hoax always feel the need to say that they still believe that there has been some warming?
We know Mann and Jones are frauds, we have the smoking gun evidence, and their data can’t be believed. Briffa, at least initially before he agreed to join in the conspiracy, was doing straight science and found steady cooling all through the 1900s. So what makes most sceptics say there has been warming but it just wasn’t man made? Do they feel it in their bones?
