Video: Chris Matthews aghast that Palin doesn’t write her own material
posted at 9:32 pm on December 7, 2009 by Allahpundit
Yeah, I know, fish in a barrel, but Palinistas should appreciate this as an especially fragrant example of the double standards she’s subjected to. Her use of ghostwriters is a minor preoccupation of Matthews’s, dating back to when she first got her book deal and he seemed to express surprise that she can read. Why this bugs him so much when virtually every other major politician uses ghostwriters on their books and speeches (Democratic royalty included) is beyond me unless he really does believe that Palin, a former governor, is semi-literate and committing some type of “extra” deception. It’s to the point where he actually seems to take exception here to the fact that her jokes — a form of writing with which literally every politician in America has help — are written by someone else.
The speechwriting bit comes in the middle but I recommend watching the beginning too, where Jonathan “Hit Piece” Martin describes how enthusiastic the crowd to see her was in Iowa — whereupon Matthews instantly asks whether they were all white. Another minor preoccupation, don’t you know.

Wasn’t Matthews a speech writer for Jimmy Carter?
What a hypocrite.

What I’d give to see Sarah Palin go on Chris Matthews and watch her knock that doufish smirk off his face. Bet she could out debate him and he wouldn’t even be able to grasp what’s going – which would lead into him throwing around Darwin…
Sharr on December 7, 2009 at 9:36 PM
Oh the single drawback , she’d give him an undeserved ratings boost.
Sharr on December 7, 2009 at 9:37 PM
If Obama puts a thrill up his leg, what does Palin do for him?
Dominion on December 7, 2009 at 9:37 PM
Do people really care? I mean another mega-biography came out near the same time and Agassi is on record as saying he wanted the best writer he could get to tell his story. Press seems to think that was thoughtful of him or something. I’m glad Agassi used one, and I think it’s good that Palin used one – takes too much time otherwise from a woman who is busy facebooking to death death panels. Plus, as she told Oprah, she journaled her life and the book is a reconstruction from that.
Plans to read the book, AP? It’s quite enjoyable if you enjoy conversational books.

Mathews had a stroke 9 years ago and no one bothered to tell him

Matthews would take an on air call from Levi, like he did with Ms. Edwards to Ms. Coulter. That’s his MO now with strong conservative women.

Sarah Palin to Chris Matthews:
Instead of tingles up your leg I hope I stiffen your resolve, if you know what I mean.

How embarrassing for the network that they would actually pay this dolt to do a show every day.

Matthews job is to read what is written for him and then to not completely reveal his alien self whilst pontificating upon it.
He fails on both levels.

There was a time, it seems eons ago, Matthews actually ran an almost respectable show. Sure there was bias, he made no effort to disguise his Dem past, but there was at least a modicum of decorum. He actually made an effort to inform instead of proselytize, now he is nothing more than a despicable hack.
My, how far he has fallen.

On Fox.com there is a story about a guy who threw two tomatoes at Gov. Palin from a balcony above where she was sitting. If that wasn’t stupid enough he missed so badly that he hit a police officer. Ooopsie.

Freaky Matthews want to get into the pants to Todd Palin. Yuckie yuckie yuckie. Somehow, Obambi is not so MAN enough to fully satisfy Chrissy’s tingling legs and itchy urges down there.
That’s why gamma-male Chrissy is so hard on Sarah.

I find personal delight in knowing that Palin thinks of Matthews as a patsy having homo erotic thoughts of black men.

Its just something they do to all Republicans. I remember references to Bush not writing his jokes and all his speechwriters etc. As if Obama is writing his own speeches like Abe Lincoln did. Its the libtard double standard.

Chris Matthews has few viewers. The only time he’s relevant is when conservative posters post his u-tubes.
Let’s get honest.
This is a game for the blog owner.
Otherwise, nobody would even ever hear what he says.
His ratings are in the tank.
Want to know whose keeping him employed?
Conservative blog owners, that’s who.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin apparently has agreed to attend a private fundraiser Monday for a Minnesota conservative group called the Freedom Club.
The group has sent out an invitation identifying Palin as the featured guest at the event following her noon book signing at the Mall of America. ……..Rep. Michele Bachmann will also be at the event.

AnninCA (CAnada or CAlifornia?) is smarter than me, but I’m going to ahead and say it.
I am going to put Chrissy on the list with Andi Sullivan and Chuckie Johnson.
The list of people over which blog-authors seem to loose control.
I don’t read (or watch) anybody on the list, and I resent bloggers that quote them incessantly (defined as “at all”).
My palliative for that irritation is to take the offending (and offensive) blog off my must read list.
And my opening question was silly, come to think of it. I come from California–must be AnninCanada.

Shouldn’t we determine they’re human first?
jdkchem on December 7, 2009 at 10:11 PM
Not sure how that works given a blog post does not = ratings for anyone but the blog count itself. I think its rather NBC/GE’s bias which keeps him employed.
To even compare Chris Matthews and Glenn Beck is to defy reality. Beck’s ratings speak of themselves. I’m no avid viewer to be sure but at least Beck’s cracked Obama’s shell a couple times.
