Student to Obama: How about stimulating the economy by legalizing drugs and hookers?
posted at 4:55 pm on December 4, 2009 by Allahpundit
Can’t blame the kid for trying. Obama has been famously ambivalent about one of these issues, and he’s already pissed off enough seniors with ObamaCare that he might as well go ahead and alienate them all. Although these days, I don’t know why any American would want or need drugs. Just breathe deep and get high on Change, baby. (Now available in tablet form.)
As for the other half of the equation, now that we’ve learned that carbon isn’t the only thing world leaders will be emitting in Copenhagen, it does seem unfair that Americans must suffer without. Many beta-male votes have been lost to The One this day, my friends.

There are ugly people with money that sometimes want something a little out of their league… ;-)

Talk about stimulus. wow. Hey kid, go home to your doped up lazy ole man.
johnnyU on December 4, 2009 at 6:31 PM
My response too, but I think that he meant to say those non-violent crimes. People get nervous when there’s a President around.
calbear on December 4, 2009 at 6:37 PM
Yes, question conventional wisdom. And never forget why it’s called wisdom.
mike_NC9 on December 4, 2009 at 6:46 PM
It says a lot about a President when a student doesn’t even think twice about asking a stupid moronic question like that!
Bicyea on December 4, 2009 at 6:48 PM
I take it that this college isn’t in the enemy camp….Chris would be proud.
yoda on December 4, 2009 at 6:50 PM

cableguy615 on December 4, 2009 at 7:10 PM
I don’t think “hookers” is the proper nomenclature to be using in front of the President of the United States.
Use “social secretaries” please.

How woulda Spitzer one after his enemies, then?
MeatHeadinCA on December 4, 2009 at 7:27 PM
No ACORN offices in Nevada I reckon.
uknowmorethanme on December 4, 2009 at 7:27 PM
Legalizing drugs and prostitution, hmmmm, ok. We will still have to regulate them, meaning the government will be involved. Meaning we are going to have equal opportunity houses of pro repute (formerly ill repute)meeting all ADA requirments (both in non disriminatory hiring practices and building codes)and run as efficiantly as the DMV and the post office. Now lets just digest those thoughts and all the implications of it while we fire up some of Uncle Sams finest (No closer than 50 ft from the building entrance of course)……hmmmmmm no, I think I smell another sure fire government loser here.

HOW CAN ANYONE STAND TO LISTEN TO JUDAS SPEAK….?
Shouldn’t he have just told that kid that it was Bush’s fault and moved on instead of starting to ramble about the Information economy?
PappyD61 on December 4, 2009 at 7:47 PM
Survey question?
In Obama’s new Prostitution Economy who gets the pole?
Desiree Rogers?
Valerie Jarrett?
Michelle O?
or Robert Gibbs?
PappyD61 on December 4, 2009 at 7:48 PM
SERIOUS QUESTION HERE……
When the Putins and Chicoms of the world see this kind of stuff why don’t they just nuke the U.S.A.?
Or…..are they fairly confident that they won’t have to….that the U.S. will implode on it’s own?
PappyD61 on December 4, 2009 at 7:52 PM
Unless you offer Obama some coke, you’re not gettin’ anything.
Cybergeezer on December 4, 2009 at 7:56 PM
Wonder if either of these would send a thrill up Chris Matthew’s leg?
pilamaye on December 4, 2009 at 7:57 PM
Yup ! ! Ask a BS question and “O”
jumps right into it. Why did he even acknowledge
the question ?
Texyank on December 4, 2009 at 8:58 PM
Exactly Dr. I wish I saw your post first.
Texyank on December 4, 2009 at 9:03 PM
Absogoddamlutely. Your entire argument is the elephant in the living room, and will never be addressed by the “legalize it” crowd.
The “War On (some) Drugs” and the soi-disant “Border Policies” of the US over the last 40 years have created an indigenous criminal class of incalculable proportions. They ain’t gonna go away, any more than the US mob has gone away due to the legalizing of gambling.
Can you imagine this kid at 50? The best thing he can hope for is to become a raging moonbat ala Sean Penn. Spicoli indeed.

And also,
+1.
Perfect.
warbaby on December 4, 2009 at 10:10 PM
I would have thought Obama would be in favor of prostitution. So far, his policy seems to have been that he gets our money and we get f*cked!
Bruno_Mitchell on December 4, 2009 at 10:36 PM
I didn’t see any teeth in that kids mouth. Did the meth already cause it to fall out?
boomer on December 4, 2009 at 10:59 PM
I could not careless who is getting the pole when I know we’re getting the shaft.
ya2daup on December 4, 2009 at 11:17 PM
Obama’s answer: “No, but how about gay child porn and communism?
PattyJ on December 5, 2009 at 2:03 AM
Dispicable. The President missed a perfect opportunity to reaffirm America’s values, which stand against a sex trade and all the filth, vices and heartache that accompany it.
He actually commended the young studge for challenging conventional wisdom. What a sorry excuse for a president.
Amy Proctor on December 5, 2009 at 8:05 AM
Yes, I will.
They will be forced to find something else to do. Just like bootleggers, rum runners, and all the other criminals who benefited from prohibition had nothing to do after 1933.
They can concentrate on those other drugs but their profits will be increasing squeezed for a couple of reasons. 1) More competition from those in the marijuana business driving down prices, 2) the demand for harder drugs is lower than marijuana which is, by far, the most popular schedule 2 drug.
It is possible for me to brew my own beer or distill my own hooch for cheaper than I can buy it at the store. But I don’t because it is a monumental pain in the butt. (I know because this was a hobby of mine 15 years ago and I still make Mead.) People pay a lot in taxes on tobacco and alcohol because it still is worth it. They fear what could be in bootlegged products and they fear the penalty of being caught.
Non-gov’t approved marijuana will be a crime and it will be penalized and it will be a far smaller supply because large scale growing operations will be able to produce marijuana at much cheaper prices.
Sorry to say this but legal, taxed marijuana is just a good idea from all points of view including those who want to keep it away from children. Pushers don’t care to whom they sell drugs but there won’t be any pushers once it is legalized. Do you see anyone trying to sell beer and cigarettes to kids on the street corner?
Bill C on December 5, 2009 at 9:09 AM
The sex trade is largely a figment of the imagination of a few feverish feminists who hate the idea that men and women engage in commerce. (See the white slavery craze at the beginning of the last century.) If consenting men and women want to exchange money for sex I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with that.
Bill C on December 5, 2009 at 9:14 AM
Wrong. Manufacturing must be a major part of our economy if we want to own, use and enjoy manufactured goods. If we don’t, we will return to 3rd world staus.
We will reap what we sow.

Legalizing drugs would save money (nomore DEA) and would stimulate the economy because legitimate companies would start up that will pay taxes to the government. It would also decrease crime. but most people are morons that really believe it would lead to armageddon so it won’t happen lol
Libertarian Joseph on December 5, 2009 at 10:16 AM
Yep. You know how many women I met that have “fuck buddies”? Many. But that’s ok…as long as no guy pays for it!!!! the logic is missing here
Libertarian Joseph on December 5, 2009 at 10:18 AM
