Quotes of the day
posted at 10:25 pm on December 4, 2009 by Allahpundit
“Palin began her political career as a reformer breaking up Alaska’s corrupt boys club and shifted seamlessly into last fall’s campaign trail culture warrior. But her decision to carry to term her Down syndrome child established a special relationship with anti-abortion activists, and now Palin has transformed herself from a politician who was anti-abortion into the leading figure of the anti-abortion movement…
“‘You just can’t escape it — she really is cut from a completely different cloth than most men, but also women, in politics,’ said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, which supports anti-abortion candidates. ‘She had the audacity in the eyes of the abortion rights world to actually have this child and then has the audacity to bring him along with her and feature him as a centrally valued person in their family.’”

Dear God she is a beautiful woman. That’s really what stings those liberal shrews. And then on top of that, she has a loving handsome husband and a true working marriage. That really has to sting! Then she has beautiful children and a successful career! Ouch. Joy behar and all the other detractors simply cannot take it. And I love it!

I agree with you. I just tire of hearing how anyone who claims to have a personal relationship with God must be a whacko. That relationship is sometimes equated with insanity and being out of touch with reality. Christianity also gets a bad name here because of some overly pious comments. I’m only trying to add that Palin does not appear pious. In fact, she uses a few “bad” words in her book! :)

That site takes so much bandwidth, I try to avoid it anyway unless it’s a very compelling subject. But yeah, something is hinky over there. I love my Firefox. Windows 7 is much better than its predecessors, but Firefox still has it beat regarding speed and security by a country mile.
hillbillyjim on December 5, 2009 at 12:37 AM
Thanks. I am not a religious person but I do believe in God and the teachings in the Bible. I think it is important to have leaders who do have an understanding of, a belief in and a reliance on God for their governance. Without that, we have what we have now – a bunch of secular leeches trying to steal from the producers so they can claim as much power over everyone as possible.
Sporty1946 on December 5, 2009 at 12:37 AM
Palin is the only one who can combine the support social conservatives, fiscal conservatives, liberatarians and tea-party activists in 2012.
As a libertarian, I could never vote for Romney, Pawlenty, Huckabee or Daniels.

I should clarify: I am running Windows 7, but bypassing IE in favor of Firefox, and the results are verifiable. I can pull up the same sites on IE-8 and Firefox and Firefox uses approx. 1/3 of the MB’s as a rule. This I know because I am on a wireless broadband protocol that requires me to keep up with the usage. Firefox is the bomb.

Thanks for replying, I thought it was just me. I cannot read the post on Politico because it keeps trying to load a virus on my laptop.
I also have FireFox and I love it, but Vista. Behind the times I guess.

BTW, Windows 7 is not bad. Beats the hell out of XP. From what I’ve heard around the corner, it’s miles ahead of Vista also. This I can’t verify, except for second-hand info, but I tend to believe it from the word-of-mouth evidence I’ve experienced.

I love Palin – I think she is the kick in the ass this country needs. I think she would have been a terrific VP. Seriously, what has Joe Biden been doing this past year that Sarah couldn’t handle?
However, I do not think she should run for President 2012. She was so heavily smeared during the McCain campaign that I think the same crazed mentality that made lefties hate Bush kicks in with Palin, too.
That being said – I think Palin should be appointed to a prominent position in the next conservative administration. Her ability to stick to an issue, to cut through the bullcrap and get down to the meat of problems, and her sincere connection to every day Americans who aren’t impressed with Hollywood or slick politics is a valuable currency. The Presidency is something that might be in her future, but she should be given the reigns to something where she really can resonate and let her show the world her stuff on a national or international level.
Build her resume.
Besides, I would love to see a Palin 2020 bumpersticker for the sheer perfection of the nuance.

I was probably a little too vague with my last couple of posts. I am running Windows 7 and so far, I am very happy with it. Nevertheless, I am using Mozilla Firefox (3.5.5) for my everyday browser, and I am more than happy with it.
However, I recommend anyone “listening” to run Firefox for your browser, as it is lightning fast and much safer that IE-8, as far as I can tell. This is coming from a rank amateur, so a grain or two of salt is necessary.

I really don’t know, Kini. As I mentioned, I am seriously a rank amateur, just figuring it out as I go. I imagine it would have a lot to do with how much available memory you have, but that is just a guess on my part. You’d be better off checking with someone who knows what they’re talking about, because that ain’t me.
hillbillyjim on December 5, 2009 at 1:08 AM
I think they lock Biden in a closet and only let him out for photo-op’s like the Joblessness summit.
I actually, think Palin would make a great president. Unlike mister can’t make a decision, Palin is decisive. Reagen was smeared heavily by the press and left wing radicals and Reagen went on to make history.
Given the current batch of POTUS wannabes out there, I think Palin is the best choice.

I’m running Windows 7, but I won’t touch IE-8, because the Firefox browser that works on MS operating systems is just that good. I can’t find anything wrong with it, and I am a picky son-of-a-bitch to start with. I’ll probably end up trying out their OS, but I’m a little bit chicken until I learn a little more about what the ____ I’m doing.
hillbillyjim on December 5, 2009 at 1:19 AM
Win 7 is solid. Too many improvements to mention. Touch and pen-based computing, OCR, voice recognition all built in.
I have been running Win7 (Release candidate) for about 8 months. Very light weight as opposed to the resource hog that Vista is. Boot time is so fast, installation is a piece of cake, device support is superb. It is so good I can’t believe MSFT did it.
Documents folders have been really improved and windows explorer is way way better. It is a pleasure to use. No Viruses either.

She really is an amazing and inspiring woman. I read these quotes and watch her Oprah interview and really have to wonder how jaded her critics must be and how empty their lives must are living in their world of self-delusion.
Allah is a real putz for his constant attacks on this true American leader. Typical sexist pig. He obviously is intimidated by a powerful woman and feels a need to attack her because of his own inadequacies.
I guess from a Freudian standpoint you would say Allah feels his junk isn’t enough to satisfy a real woman like Sarah so he has to smear her.

Chrome was too quarky and beta when I tried to use it, although I hear the later versions are running more smoothly. I haven’t tried it lately. Explorer though has been, and probably always will be, a Nexus 6 style program destined to eventually die over time with a limited lifespan.

I think Palin has gotten a bad rap by our MSM, but I don’t see how giving birth to Trig showed any “audacity”. A Republican governor having an abortion in office would have made her hated by the Pro-life base and even the Republicans who don’t care about abortion would have seen her as a hypocrite to the party’s pro-life platform.
There was no way she would have been able to keep an abortion a secret. I suppose she could have become a Democrat and been wildly celebrated by them, which would be pretty funny.

She’s going to run for president in 2012. That’s obvious to everyone, right? It was completely clear to me after reading Going Rogue (yes, Washington Post reviewer, the whole) thing. But this just clinches it.
This single bit of video provides a far clearer, more consistent, and more useful view of its speaker as an American and as a human being than anything—anything—Barack Obama has ever said. Whether you love or hate Palin is irrelevant, I think. The more she’s allowed to be herself and to say what she believes, the more concretely she proves she’s anything but the robotic stuffed shirt that represents the alpha and the omega of Obama.
WesternActor on December 5, 2009 at 6:56 AM
A cynic would say that AP posted this video to display Palin as a religious wacko who would, in his view, trample all over the First Amendment and the mythical “separation of church and state” clause.

When Sarah Palin first burst upon the scene, she reminded me of Queen Esther from The Bible. You can even watch the movie over the internet
And I do believe she has used a line that is a paraphrase from Esther…”If I die politically, I die”
