Dem senator: I don’t recall anyone comparing Bush to Hitler

posted at 10:01 pm on December 3, 2009 by Allahpundit

I don’t think this guy’s spinning. Too many people know the truth and too much evidence is available online for him to deliberately lie and think he could get away with it. Either he, like Gibbs, was in some sort of coma for most of the last decade or else the sheer dynamic magic of Hopenchange really does have them convinced that history started on January 20, 2009. Every religion follows a calendar that began with the appearance of its oracle. No difference here, really.

Even so, given a choice between this guy and the guy he beat, it’s a wash at best. Click the image to listen.

What scares me is that 90% of the Hot Air posters would be so much better as lawmakers than what we have. We as a country are so effed! These rat bastards have made it impossible to remove them due to gerrymandering. Even a couple of the more liberal posters on this site would still be better as Dems than the current crop. Just remember how hard the RNSRC worked trying to keep Chaffee in.
Dr. Zero made a good point last week. Why should the country have to be in turmoil every time there is an election in that things could change dramatically either way?

Pablo on December 3, 2009 at 10:47 PM

exactly. Its the height of decadence for a nation to have a leader that travels the planet besmirching his country for its imaginary excesses who then pivots and regales you about arugula, golf, and his wife’s $500 sneakers.

elduende on December 3, 2009 at 10:44 PM

I was listening to Bill Bennet a couple of mornings ago and he had an Arab American journalist on there {name escapes me right now} but he said that Obama lost a lot of respect among Arabs when he went out and apologized for America. In their culture you stand up for your people when you are in foreign lands. It made him look small to them.

MadisonConservative on December 3, 2009 at 10:45 PM

No problem. Here’s a sample post.

Well giving an objective definition would be tough considering political scientists and scholars themselves still debate it’s core tenets. However many (not me) would argue that Bush encourages hyper-nationalism, scapegoats enemies to justify a reduction of civil liberties, and has a disdain for intellectuals, feminists and homosexuals, just like Fascist movements often do. Even if you accept these premises (which I don’t), does this mean that Bush is a “Fascist”? No. These people are simply using an emotion-laden word to smear him.

elduende on December 3, 2009 at 10:53 PM

crr6:

You know what? The years of rancor, name calling, threats, books and movies about Bush being killed, the non stop partisan assaults on the man have helped create an atmosphere that makes it more and more difficult for anyone to have a rational non partisan response to any politician. The left and the Democrats went out of their way for years to do that. Is the right above reproach? Of course not…but the point is that the behavior of people on your side of the aisle have made that much more likely that Obama would encounter some nastiness. So stop being all self righteous.

He’s as blinded by his lust for power as he can be

It’s called “selective memory”? How soon they forget that they were the ones shrieking and insulting President Bush, their flunkies with horrible graphics degrading Prez Bush, and then making claims about changing the “tone” in Washington. BTW, it always seems to be democrats throwing wrenches into the works whenever the military are involved. President Bush 41 couldn’t finish the job in the Persian Gulf War because the dems put a quash on that. The Vietnam War was sabotaged by the democrats in control then, and here we are again?!? It boggles the mind to think what we could accomplish and how our military would succeed if we didn’t have democrats sabotaging them every step of the way and supporting their missions 100%. Yeah, democrats’ memories suck!

I think it is more along the lines of yet another politician living in a bubble that completely ignores reality. It’s the same reason that these bastards are out there cutting $300B deals with a Senator to force through healthcare legislation opposed by a clear majority of Americans. They simply do not understand their own constituencies. It would have taken a Joe Wilson moment of some elected politician on the floor of the Senate to call Bush Hitler for it to register with this scumbag Senator. As it was, Dick Durbin only compared the troops to Nazis which is another matter entirely.

The Congress are virtually all from good reliable districts (gerrymandered into incumbency by both parties) so they can vote however they like. The Senate is even worse where they have a five year grace period to ignore us before they have to run for re-election.

Ask a Jewish person, a Muslim person, and a Christian person what date it is today. I’m guessing you’ll get the same answer.

jdp629 on December 3, 2009 at 10:29 PM

You are aware that there actually is a Jewish calendar, the year is 5000 something on theirs. It’s also a lunar based calendar.
You are aware that there actually is Muslim calendar, for them the year is somewhere around 1400.

Just because people of both religions use the Christian calendar for their dealings with the rest of the world doesn’t mean they don’t have their own calendars.

There was a Republican primary in which a great conservative ran against RINO Chafee and the RNC backed Chafee. That was the end of my donations to the RNC.

This is just another example of how the RNC and NRSC have screwed things up when endorsing candidates. Arlen Spincter over Pat Toomey in 2004, Chaffee over Laffey in 2006, and now here in FL, Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio. Every time the RNC, NRSC, or NRCC calls for a donation, I politely point out that all my contributions go directly to candidates like Rubio, until these groups collectively pull their heads out of their ass.
