Video: Minnesota governor turned Truther superpatriot walks off radio show in huff

posted at 8:10 pm on December 2, 2009 by Allahpundit

From this morning’s Opie & Anthony show, your viral video of the day. The little guy is comedian Jim Norton. The big guy is a bully who used to wrestle in a feather boa, likes to throw around the chickenhawk smear when discussing foreign policy, and, oh yes, is a full-blown mouthbreathing 9/11 conspiracy theorist who retreats into the “just asking questions” cop-out when challenged. In four-plus minutes here, I don’t think he engages a single point Norton makes, choosing instead to insult him, walk out, and then stare him down as if promising an imminent ass-kicking. Behold America’s highest profile Truther in all his glory. He and the movement deserve each other. Strong content warning.

Blowback

What a stupid steroid prick that phony wrestler is!

Hilts on December 2, 2009 at 10:13 PM

Jesse Ventura is one of the saddest stories in American politics. He had the chance to change politics with his win in Minnesota, but the bottom line is he just didn’t have the brains to do it. And the irony of it is, this former professional wrestler was too thin-skinned for the blood-sport of politics. Instead, he’s sought refuge in the world of Lyndon LaRouche-style nude-alien conspiracies.

Very, very sad.

Jim-Rose on December 2, 2009 at 10:13 PM

I’ve had enough of this lying, coward, fraud, Jesse Ventura.
Someone PLEASE get this message to Ventura! If I EVER catch you anywhere, I will stomp your guts out, in front of God and everybody, THEN you can say you had you A$$ kicked by someone that was actually IN Special Forces.

nelsonknows on December 2, 2009 at 10:15 PM

Man, gettin’ owned by a meaty-breasted zilch… there’s no living that down.

Kudos to Norton. :)

ZK on December 2, 2009 at 10:15 PM

People like Ventura are always the same. If you haven’t been in the military, you aren’t allowed to support wars. If you have been in the military and you support wars, you’re a nutjob.

Well by that token John McCain should have won in a landslide.

Hilts on December 2, 2009 at 10:16 PM

Is doofpundit trying to get some credibility back after his bashing of the seals a short while ago?

Chickenhawk, plain and simple

I would have knocked that fake Seal Team ’57 hat off this scubag’s head.

TTheoLogan on December 2, 2009 at 10:23 PM

The look in Ventura’s eyes. He’d have loved to have smacked Jim around because he doesn’t like being challenged on any point which he backs up with his military experience. I love our soldiers, but of the few bad apples I’ve met, I notice most of them often back up their opinions with “I was in the military, you weren’t”, and rest on that instead of argue their points logically.

What a punk. What a chump. Trying to intimidate others into shutting up while all the time whining about how people are trying to shut troofers up. Jackass. I bet he’s a big fan of Alex Jones, who shouts down everyone he disagrees with. Hypocritical piece of filth, cruising along on his service for his own purposes. Norton knocked him out last time, too.

Those of us in Louisiana and the Houston area are probably familiar with a morning radio show called Walton and Johnson. They had Ventura on this morning (must be hitting all the morning shows to plug his show) and actually gave credence to him and his kook therories.

Its sad too because W&J usually poked fun at liberals celebs who say the type of nonsense Ventura goes on about. Yet they give this truther credibility on their show. I didn’t think they bought into conspiracy theories.

Lay-Z on December 2, 2009 at 10:33 PM

Delusional _ouchebag.

Dopenstrange on December 2, 2009 at 10:39 PM

Jim Janos was UDT 12. UDT and SEAL training then started out the same – both went through BUD/S. However after that, SEAL candidates generally went through a lot more specialized training.

SEAL teams in Vietnam saw a lot of action and lost a lot of people. He could have probably requested transfer to a SEAL unit and been accepted, since SEAL had a very high casualty rate for a while because of their missions and they were short handed at times.

firepilot on December 2, 2009 at 10:44 PM

Typical truther…he follows in the footsteps of Dylan Avery and Alex Jones.

StevefromMKE on December 2, 2009 at 9:40 PM

Search the web and you can find the fight from 2006 Opie, Anthony and Jimmy had with Avery over “Loose Change” when he came on the show (Allah posted it at the time, but that video link has since been disabled).

And thus my point about why pot smoking isn’t harmless becomes crystal clear.

But here’s question for BobAnthony. Since HAARP began well before Sarah Palin was even an adult how’s she responsible for it’s supposed activity? Why aren’t all the Dem responsible? Or since it’s a super secret military installation, according to you kooks, why isn’t commander in Chief Obama responsible?

Uhh, the seals are not special forces? TTheoLogan on December 2, 2009 at 10:23 PM

No. Like too many people, you’re confusing Special Operations Forces with the United States Army Special Forces Command. One is a classification, one (USASFC) is an organization. SeALs, Rangers, Force Recon, (Army) Special Forces, Para-Rescue, etc are all classified as Special Operations Forces (SpecOps/Special Ops/etc.), but the Army Special Forces are a dedicated special/unconventional warfare command CALLED Special Forcess. Other nations have ‘special forces’, but no other SOF unit has the training, knowledge, intellect, versatility, knowhow or pure force-multiplying power of the Army Special Forces (the world’s best teachers).

This is the second time Norton has made Jesse look like a fool. Jim knows the facts, is extremely intelligent when he needs to be and doesn’t float around like a little B*tch. On the other hand Jesse is your typical Truther who throws logic out the window and believes any asinine statement that proves his point, no matter how hilarious it may be.

Not to be a jerk, but WTF is wrong with Minnesota? Jesse Ventura, Al Franken, Keith Ellison and various radical Muslim freakazoids, and a culture of extreme political correctness. Is it some mutated Lutheran version of liberal white guilt? I honestly want to know.

Yes, it’s Jessee ‘The Mind’ Ventura…Minnesota’s biggest embarrassment before they elected Al Franken. What a crap-head…and, BTW…this DB never served in the SEALS…he was a member of the UIC…which as absorbed into the SEALS after he left the service. What a steaming pile he is.

AUINSC on December 2, 2009 at 8:14 PM

I love how Mr. “I made my 15 minutes of fame in such an honest ‘sport’ as PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING” is now on a personal Mullet of Truth Crusade to show us how ‘The Gubmint’ is lying to us about 9/11.

Jesse just got the beatdown of his career from a short fat kid from Jersey who even questions his own sexuality at times.

Next up for Norton, a Truther cage match with Rosie.
Make it so!

firepilot on December 2, 2009 at 10:44 PM

No.

The SEALs had a very small casualty rate in Vietnam, amazingly small in fact considering the extreme risks they took.

pseudonominus on December 3, 2009 at 10:38 AM

I don’t think mocking the mentally ill like Ventura is amusing. Nor should Ventura deserve our hatred. He’s just insane and decent people shouldn’t make videos of him. Sadly, some people who make videos are not decent people. So it is probably useful to keep track of Ventura here at Hotair.

thuja on December 3, 2009 at 11:46 AM

http://cursor.org/stories/seal_or_udt_2.htm

No one from UDT during the Vietnam War would dare misrepresent himself as a SEAL. Consider this: SEAL Team One, with roughly the same number of men as UDT 12, had 34 killed during the war. I knew many of them. UDT 12 lost but a single man. 34:1.

That casualty rate is relative to what you are comparing it to. SEAL teams are not huge, and their training is long and highly specialized too. You can take a small group like SEALs, and give them lots of hazardous missions, even a low loss rate over time will have a big impact on the teams numbers eventually with the tempo of operations they had

Just like with USAF F-105s in Vietnam. A relatively low rate of 1-2% of pilots lost on a mission, ended up meaning for a while, most pilots were not finishing a full tour, but instead ending up MIA or KIA.

firepilot on December 3, 2009 at 12:26 PM

I’m still proud to live in a nation where a retarded-American can become the governor of a state. Even if it is just Minnesota.

BobAnthony on December 3, 2009 at 2:52 PM

I listened to him on the radio when this happened. In all honesty all I could think was this guy is off his rocker. I really believe that this is not the same Jesse from years ago(Not that I was a fan of his then). I really think some of his marbles are lose and the years of slamm’n on the mat and jack’n roids has finally caught up to him. Not uncommon in professional athletes. Just very sad.

He’s a faux SEAL!

MCGIRV on December 3, 2009 at 8:05 PM

Jim Norton is smart as hell and always has been, he is also fearless, and a little nutz (maybe in a good way)

What I liked so much about this conversation was that Ventura’s complete lack of evidence and his remarks based soley on his distrust of government were revealed as soon as he began defining those who disagreed with him as some how lacking. As soon as a lefty, which he is, has nothing to back up empty assertions, they immediately resort to attacking the person no matter how subtly. He did this well before Norton ever went after him.

Norton stayed on point, point after point after point, and the faux leader had nothing.

To say that because an individual never served in the military makes them ineligible to have opinions as to war is insane.
