Troops? Simplesimon doesn’t care about those inbred redneck moronic race fans. Do ya, race fan?

Odd that the party which hates the troops, the democrats, start most of Americas wars and the republicans end them, usually in victory. Even Vietnam was won on the battlefield and only declared a loss in Washington DC and through the eyes of the liberal media.

On Iraq, WE WON.

Any American loss of life is terrible, however, comparing American casualties to D Day in World War 2, 10,000 on the first day vs. less than 5,000 in the entire Iraq war results in a tremendous improvement in lower casualities and saved American lives and 50 million free muslims.

God bless our troops, for without them, the liberal trolls could not spew their ridiculous ideas here.

Shhh. If you admit you don’t know they’ve been held for 8 years every time units rotate back to the States, people might question your patriotism.

And the idiots who didn’t put the rape/incest exception in the South Dakota initiative when that was first put up to a vote set back the pro-life movement back for maybe forever…

yeah, because some abortions are better than others. When are you going to figure out that when it comes to murder, you can't "allow" some to save others. You are not God. He gave you, the creature the commandment: Thou shalt not kill. Period. Follow it.

Sure, he talks tough, but his only real achievement was a breathtaking display of crony capitalism that enriched his former employer.

Of course one might be able to 'breathtakingly' display another company that is capable of providing the same service under same conditions. Sinopec? Total? Elf? Any others?

He’s just cleaning up Bush’s Folly. Thousands dead, hundreds of billions of $ squandered – for nothing.

Mission Accomplished!

I disagree. The 'nothing' that indeed was accomplished was not just the removal of Saddam but the gaining of a top tier strategic ally in the den of undoubtedly the most strategic region of the ongoing campaign. This campaign was certainly at crisis level back then.

It is also disingenuous to claim that it was/is wars that squander billions (at any given time). Congress wholeheartedly agreed (with a tiny exception from a few) to fund the war which was deemed vital to our national defense. Under any responsible nation, it is defense that is the top mandate in terms of financing and prosecution. Our republic under the strictest guidelines of the Constitution is no exception. Therefore, any money that is spent during is where the squander lies. This is especially true when there are countless items (even whole departments) that have no Constitutional basis or merit whatsoever.

So instead of having say 3000 abortions a year for whatever reason, with maybe 2% of abortion seekers volunteering a claim of rape/incest, you want 3000 abortions a year with 100% of abortion seekers claiming rape or incest? I presume you wouldn't require a felony conviction, because you can't get one in 9 months.

Joining the party late here.

The Far Left (Democrats and otherwise) have no interest in helping the GOP return or retain majorities in any elected government, so to pay any attention to their loudest voices would be foolish.

The Conservatives (Republican, Libertarian, and Independents) don't have to agree on any all-or-nothing set of values as they should know that it is a ploy to keep them from getting organized into any effective voting bloc capable of stopping the schemes of their political rivals.

From this time forward, participation in ALL future elections are no longer optional for lovers of liberty and freedom. Anyone right-of-center thinking voter had better be proactive in educating their families, friends, and neighbors on the ideas of conservatism, getting involved in the democratic process at ALL levels of government, and holding accountable any elected official who would willingly attempt to short circuit or do an end run around the Constitution for the sake of growing government and reducing liberty.

Enjoy the reigns of power while you can, Liberals.

Enough said.

Thousands dead, hundreds of billions of $ squandered – for nothing.

I guess any nation can flaunt a cease fire with the U.S. with impunity eh? Were just a paper tiger then.

Millions of Iraqi who died at the hands of the Saddams might not agree with you either.

gdonovan on November 29, 2009 at 11:18 AM

Totally agree.

This would have been a very dangerous time for America if Saddam Hussein was still alive.

Obambi vs. Hussein & Ahdminedjab?

To think that Obambi's only foreign policy is just "Americans, say I'm Sorry to the World"? Geesh.

Cheney has been effectively destroyed by the left. Even if he had a healthy heart, he would have no chance of winning the presidency. Those who don't want Sarah Palin can go look at Huckabee, Romney, and Pawlenty. No ideas, no chance of winning the primaries, and are not conservatives.

Frankly, I don't understand a word AP writes.

Thousands dead, hundreds of billions of $ squandered – for nothing.

I guess any nation can flaunt a cease fire with the U.S. with impunity eh? Were just a paper tiger then.

Millions of Iraqi who died at the hands of the Saddams might not agree with you either.

There’s almost too much for one speech, so I leave it at this: Vote Cheney 2012, and go a**backwards into the future.”

Who is bungling what war? Who is ramming unconstitutional programs down our throats? Who is paying off assorted wall street types and union thugs?

Yeah, I'm waiting for Cheney's announcement speech:

"My fellow Americans, after eight years America's economy was the strongest it's ever been. Check that, I meant to say in the worse recession since the Great Depression. But we dream big -- even before we spent almost a trillion dollars on the first bank bailout, we'd run up more than a trillion dollars in debt in just eight years. And we inherited a budget in surplus! Sure, Obam's trying, but for the moment, Bush-Cheney is the gold standard in fiscal irresponsibility.

I promised that our troops in Iraq would be greeted as liberators and they would be deployed and brought home quickly. And, after a mere eight years some of them are actually being brought home by our successors. As for the first part, it depends what the definition of "liberators is.

But I recall the good days, the morning in America days when the hash we'd made of Iraq took our minds off Afghanistan. At least it took the situation in Afghanistan off my mind. I almost completely forgot that it existed. You know, Republicans are often accused of having little grasp of Daily Show-type irony, but I have to say that my accusing Obama of "dithering" was probably the most ironic thing a conservative has said since Nixon announced "I am not a crook." Sometimes I crack myself up.

I could go on -- illegally wiretapping American citizens, vetoing bills that ould have brought health care to children, getting outmaneuverd by the North Koreans, embracing a "what me worry?" energy policy that enriches Chavez, Putin and Amadinijad, demonizing gays even though my own daughter is a lesbian...gosh those were good times.

I wouldn't hesitate to pull the lever for Cheney, but I do not think that he is the person for 2012. If you could replace his polarizing characteristics with a "wise grandfather" option package, I would be more inclined to think so. I don't think the antidote to Obama is anti-Obama or Obama-180. We don't need a candidate who will abuse the electorate as badly from the right as we've been abused from the left. Vengeance may be sweet, but it's short-lived.

I think what we need is first someone who can get elected; second someone with deep conservative convictions; third someone who is determined to lead wisely; and fourth someone who can stand against the most blistering assault from the left and their bapf media for four to eight years.
