Celebrity news of the day: Angelina Jolie thinks Obama’s a socialist phony

Way, waaay too good to check. Alternate headline: “Confirmed: Angelina Jolie the perfect woman.”
Barack Obama does not have Angelina Jolie’s seal of approval.
“She hates him,” a source close to the U.N. goodwill ambassador, 34, tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands now).
“She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise,” adds the source…
“Angie isn’t Republican, but she thinks Obama is all smoke and mirrors,” the source says.
Follow the link for heart-achey reports of political squabbling between her and Brad. Any reason to believe this story might be true (apart from her patrilineage)? Why, yes: Not only did she famously call for the United States to stay put in Iraq in order to avert a humanitarian disaster but she was officially undecided on last year’s election until fairly late in the game. The seeds are there, people. They just need to be nurtured. Get to work, cowboy!

I’m pretty sure Jon Voight used to be a lib. The guy won an Oscar for Coming Home, an anti-Vietnam war flick co-starring Hanoi Jane.
But he now says he regrets a lot of what he did during that era. I don’t know if it was 9/11 that changed him, but I definitely get the impression his turn towards conservatism occurred over the last decade.

Angelina, you officially rock. Thank you for being one of the few Hollywood celebs out there who isn’t completely brainwashed by this lout of a president.
Also, your work with Clint Eastwood in ‘Changeling’ was excellent. I don’t often prefer you as a dramatic actress but no one could have played that role better than you did and Eastwood played to your strengths beautifully.

Don’t get me wrong, anyone that comes out and slaps Obama around (according to a ‘source’} is a plus in my book, but about the best thing I think she has going for her is that she has enough sense to keep her trap shut and live her life. This is not like she showed up at a Tea Party and gave some firebrand speech.
There’s plenty of out-to-lunch Libspaz zipperheads out there that are disappointed with Obama.
Plus, I really believe she’s and android….

Angelina and her dad, I believe are still estranged. I really don’t keep up with the personal lives of Hollywood folks. I have enjoyed a lot of Angelina’s movies. The Bone Collector was one of my favorites. I also know she’s a very generous, and giving woman. She gives 1/3 of her annual income to charity. How many other Hollywood people can say that? Not many.
I don’t care what her politics are. I’m just glad that she thinks for herself, and came to this conclusion, and spoke up about it. We need more like her to be brave enough to do that, when we all know this could very well black ball her.

I’ve admired John Voight ever since he spoke out in defense of the Republican position on war on terror (ie war against Islam) and I didn’t think much about Jolie except that she’s an over-hyped actress, but now I definitely respect her as well.
But this really isn’t a right vs left issue, its much larger-this is a Civilization (the West) vs Barbarism (Islam) issue. All I can hope for is that my fellow western citizens, whatever political stripe they might be will wake up and realize that firstly they are infidels/non-muslims.
Secondly, that the muslims are at war with us with the goal to convert, subjugate or kill us until Islam conquers every free nation on the planet. And lastly that we’ll need to eliminate this death cult if we are to preserve our freedom, democracy and way of life. This war is every bit as real and deadly as WW2 against Nazism/fascism. Just because millions haven’t died yet doesn’t mean we’re not in danger.
Muslims are working diligently to acquire nukes, bio/chemical weapons and other means to kill Americans. 9/11 wasn’t a fluke, but the opening salvo in this coming global war. We should be mobilizing the nation to fight and defeat this evil enemy. Of course it won’t be possible while we have a muslim (enemy) sympathizer running the country, unless he’s impeached and the brain-dead liberals clue in and smell the jihad.

I think stories like this work at cross-purposes. Unless the celebrity has some real (and I do mean REAL) political cred, conservatives just need to dispel in the public mind the notion that celebrities are worth listening to altogether.
After all, the left has always had the vast majority of them, and always will (in all likelihood). Saying “Look, we got one too!” just gives the entire exercise legitimacy that ultimately seems to work against our interests.
Better for conservatives to keep celebrities out of the public arena altogether, is my current take.

Yes, I’m still a bit upset that Angie chose Brad over me. Then again, Nicci chose Keith Urban over me. Imagine that.
But the world these women live and work in, while glamorous and glorified and quite lucrative, is a closed shop. What they do today in Hollywood to anyone even smelling like a non-lib makes the blacklisting of the 50′s look like a Fred and Ginger twirl on the dance floor.
But like everything else, change happens one step at a time, particulary in the arts.
In the meantime, the rest of us don’t have that luxury, our windows are about to close.

If this were true, I might actually have to like her. True, she has given lots of kids a good home and donated time and money to charitable causes. But when she was younger she was a selfish jerk, so maybe she is maturing and gaining perspective and humility. OK, she had me at “Obama is a socialist.” Not in disguise, by the way. The conversion from libnut to clear-thinker is a personal journey.

It happens to many individuals: if you survive this life and grow to raise children and be self supporting (yourself and them), you become more “clear-thinking” and therefore, far less swayed by and into Leftwing delusions.

Already happening. While waiting in line at the drugstore yesterday, the cover story on one of the celebrity rags was essentially a hit piece on her. Questioned her potential surgeries, botox, how she was to work with, etc.
They wasted no time in throwing her under the bus.
