Celebrity news of the day: Angelina Jolie thinks Obama’s a socialist phony

Way, waaay too good to check. Alternate headline: “Confirmed: Angelina Jolie the perfect woman.”
Barack Obama does not have Angelina Jolie’s seal of approval.
“She hates him,” a source close to the U.N. goodwill ambassador, 34, tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands now).
“She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise,” adds the source…
“Angie isn’t Republican, but she thinks Obama is all smoke and mirrors,” the source says.
Follow the link for heart-achey reports of political squabbling between her and Brad. Any reason to believe this story might be true (apart from her patrilineage)? Why, yes: Not only did she famously call for the United States to stay put in Iraq in order to avert a humanitarian disaster but she was officially undecided on last year’s election until fairly late in the game. The seeds are there, people. They just need to be nurtured. Get to work, cowboy!

It’s certainly nice to hear that she is for things other than welfare and is against Socialism. I wonder though that someone would express her views for her; especially since it would be such a diametric difference than the mainstream of Hollywood. If those were her views and she wished them to be kept more private, then I feel terrible for her. I hope she doesn’t suffer the repercussions that Conservatives in the entertainment industry do when they dare to speak their mind.

Her and Brad Pitt have expressed admiration for Ayn Rand before. And even though people see their adoption sprees as publicity stunts nobody can deny that they’re doing some good with their wealth.
And as for Brad, he grew up in Springfield, MO and attended Mizzou. He left for Hollywood despite being just a couple hours away from his degree. Not a bad decision by him in the end.

Sure, Jolie is sort of cool and definitely hot…until you wake up in the morning and she’s drawing blood from your leg to keep in a little vial suspended from a necklace.

I hope it’s true. If she slept with Brad before he was divorced, then she’s not exactly a good role model, but the last five years or so, she’s seemed interested in becoming one.
I’ve long thought she was a good actress, and I’ve slowly started to admire her. It’d be nice to have some celebrities with their eyes open.

I greatly admire Jon Voight as a person and of course as an actor.
When Jolie was adopting her latest child, my young adult daughter relayed the latest pop culture sentiment, that Jolie’s crazy to keep “buying” babies. I answered that at least Jolie was using her money and life energy responsibly. Rather than just preaching “feed the children”, Jolie is raising children who otherwise had no chance to survive.
She is parenting, and has the intelligence to see how badly Obama is changing America, all for the worse.
So what if the Obama’s give Jolie the cold shoulder! Jolie never asked them for special favors, and owes them nothing. Good for her.
She’s not the only one who sees Obama as a failure.

It totally blows that she isn’t going to do “Atlas Shrugged.” I read somewhere that — if it actually gets made — they’re talking to Charlize Theron about the role of Dagny. I like Charlize (and I suspect she leans a little bit to the right as well), but Angelina has always seemed to be perfectly cast for that part IMO.
I really enjoy her movies. She plays an ass kicker like nobody’s business.

I never used to be a fan of Jolie, although I did think she did an excellent job in Girl Interrupted, but I didn’t think that was much of a stretch for her to play that part at the time it was made. She’s come a long way since then and while I don’t think she’s a high caliber actress but maybe that’s because she’s typecast for things like Tomb Raider. I have come to admire her for what seems to be genuine humanitarian concerns, though.
I don’t think she’ll ever be a conservative, but she does seem to be quite intelligent. She’s certainly not alone in her disappointment with the POTUS, but she’s not one to wear it on her sleeve. She’s probably furious with this so-called friend who took it upon themselves to share with the media.

I cannot stand listening to ‘hollywood’ types because most of them have little to no real education.
This is a woman, on the other hand, who, regardless of her ‘education’, has spent many hours outside of the ‘box’ of Hollywood. She has traveled. She has educated herself.
She’s not an ‘idiot’.
She also praised GWBush’s work in Africa…you wouldn’t know it because the media would not publish it, but it’s true.
