the White House estimates that the government’s tab for servicing the debt will exceed $700 billion a year in 2019, up from $202 billion this year, even if annual budget deficits shrink drastically.

This is just so stupid. Of course the interest on the debt will rise even if deficits shrink drastically, you morons! Because as long as we run a deficit the debt increases! Stupid, stupid media creatures!

Politicians and the media love to talk about the deficit and avoid mentioning the debt whenever they can. Doing so allows them to avoid mentioning the real problem- too much spending. So they talk about reducing the deficit, and not the debt. It’s a shell game, and it’s so ingrained in their thinking (and the voter’s minds) that they think nothing of making such dumb statements like the one above with and air of surprise.

This is what’s killing the economy. As long as the talk focuses on deficits, congress can continue to spend wildly without really having to address the problems created by too much spending. Don’t worry, they tell us. We’ll lower the deficit next year! sigh…

Wasn’t the goal of health care reform to save money?

Geesh.

It must be a huge inner struggle to force himself to look serious. If the reporters in the pool start to heckle him a little they’ll probably all end up rolling on the floor laughing till tears run down their faces.

Our government is a joke of epic, maybe even galactic proportions.

It just galls me when I hear “this bill will pay for it’s self by eliminating waste, fraud and abuse, in our current government health care system”

The They are writing a bill that prevents liberal, socialist, communist, democrats and demorepubs, from holding public office?

If there is waste, fraud and abuse, in our current government health care system, you don’t need this bill or any other bill to eliminate it!

In fact, Congress, Mr. POTUS, please tell us why you haven’t gone after this before?
