Video: When Andrea met Sarah

posted at 1:15 pm on November 22, 2009 by Allahpundit

You loved the photos, now see the movie! The fun begins at around 1:40. In Mitchell’s defense, it never quite reaches the point where security has to tackle her.

Thanks for the clip to Jim Treacher, who continues to keep things in perspective.

Pleasantly surprised not to find any AP-bashing on the thread yet. (Why people assume a Palin post made by AP is evidence of Palin-hate has always escaped this poster. Am sure one of the AP-haters will be out of the woodwork in a moment to explain it to me. )

Andrea looks Uberjealous. It isn’t true that women in general hate other women. But the hate of a less-successful lefty woman foir a more-prominent and successful one rivals the heat of a thousand suns.

Sarah Palin really looks like a future presidential candidate “prepping the battleground” for a run.
***
Andrea Mitchell looks like the witch from the WIZARD OF OZ movie. It’s good to see the police and others trying to protect Sarah. But the crowd is too close to her, and the cop’s pistol looks pretty “grabable” to me. Sarah needs police protection–a left wing or Jihadi assassin may be stalking her already. Remember who killed Robert Kennedy and why.

She could have handed Andrea a trout and a knife and said, “let’s have a filleting contest. Ready? GO!”

DarthBrooks on November 22, 2009 at 1:33 PM

I thought Mitchell was the State Dept correspondent or something. How’d she get demoted to Grand Rapids in November?

Wethal on November 22, 2009 at 1:33 PM

Narutoboy on November 22, 2009 at 1:34 PM

AM is just taking time from the people who were there for the book signing. She wants an interview, let her go through channels. And yeah, Treacher is one of the more intelligent, wittier people in the blogosphere. Always relevant, and usually lol funny.

bikermailman on November 22, 2009 at 1:35 PM

In Mitchell’s defense,…..

Why defend Mitchell? She’s stalking Palin at her book signing like a turkey vulture who can’t wait to tear into a cadaver’s flesh. She attacks Palin every chance she gets when she appears on MSDNC. She’s a far left journalist who would like nothing better than to see Palin fail in her every endeavor.

Why defend her?

Oh, wait.

If Sarah Palin is the GOP salvation in 2012 – then the GOP deserves to die as a party.

Conservatives need to look for satisfaction elsewhere.I would love it if Cheney would run on a Conservative ticket. Cheney as President, Fred Thompson as VP. They would get my vote.

Sarah Palin? Not so much.

The libs are only after Palin because the words ‘Palin’ and ’2012′ keep appearing in the same sentence. They are just doing preemptive strikes in an attempt to neutralize her. Just in case.

Timothy S. Carlson on November 22, 2009 at 1:38 PM

Andrea who?

Isn’t she the wench who’s married to the rich guy who kept interest rates low so Gore would win the 2000 election nonqualifying borrowers could buy homes and, by doing so, caused the housing/market collapse?

Nice couple.

At least Newseek didn’t run a pic of Andrea in shorts on its cover.

And I’ll bet that the Newsweek edition with Sarah on the cover (How Do You Solve a Problem Like Sarah) sold at least twice what the previous week’s edition (with Al Gore, whom it dubbed “The Thinking Man’s Thinking Man”) on the cover.

No bias here, guys, move along.

guest77 on November 22, 2009 at 1:28 PM

Actually, the point of the post is to embarrass Palin supporters. As another poster commented, the photos make it look worse than what the video shows. Although it does seem the video ended a little short. Hard to see Andrea’s actions as Palin walked away.

Pleasantly surprised not to find any AP-bashing on the thread yet. (Why people assume a Palin post made by AP is evidence of Palin-hate has always escaped this poster. Am sure one of the AP-haters will be out of the woodwork in a moment to explain it to me. )

inviolet on November 22, 2009 at 1:29 PM

Let me dispel your pleasantry. AP’s post is a sign of his atheistic disgust for all things conservative based on Godly principles. As noted above, the point of the post is to show how the photos kind of, apparently – and I say apparently because the video ends up short – disparage Andrea’s actions. Intentionally. Was it stupid and desperate and plain rude to ambush Palin. Of course. Was it the actions of a deranged journalist as the pictures seem to dictate. Uh, no. But again, we don’t see the end of Andrea’s actions. How convenient for AP, huh.

Make no mistake, AP’s post was an attack on Palin’s supporters.

klickink.wordpress.com on November 22, 2009 at 1:49 PM

All due respect, no. This video is about how popular and admired Gov. Palin is by so many people, and how nasty, arrogant, rude, line-cutting Andrea Mitchell will do anything whatever to either get herself a little more air time on the back of an enormously popular former governor whom she hates, or to continue her attacks on said former governor. Or both.

Just don’t get how this post makes AP a Sarah-hater. Some things he posts are critical of Palin and some praise her. All get lots of comments, which we both enjoy making as well as reading, and benefits HA, which is obviously one of AP’s priorities. Thanks for your take though.

You’re absolutely right AP, but one wouldn’t know it by reading the comments. Mitchell was being held back by security like a lot of people there, and her questions were pretty reasonable, and Palin, to her credit, answered them all courteously.

Norman Blizter on November 22, 2009 at 2:10 PM

terryannonline on November 22, 2009 at 1:58 PM

That’s not how security works. They are not in the business of intpreting the likelihood of person X attacking their client, based on the identity of person X. They are there to keep their client at a safe distance from person X and all other people.

The point is that you just can’t know who everyone is, and what their motivations might be. That’s why you hire security in the first place.

Now that I think about it this also reflects poorly on Andrea Mitchell. Why is she waiting in the line with all of Palin’s fans? Did her producers not try to schedule a 10 minute interview after the book signing perhaps in the bus with out the crowd? She works for a major broadcast network why was she unsuccessful in getting a short interview. Perhaps her producers did try and it Palin said no….which wouldn’t be Andrea’s fault. I’m curious what happened.

Imagine if Sarah Palin was relevant.

Imagine if Andrea Mitchell was relevant.

That’s a sweet baby, he looks cute in his green and red Christmas out fit. God Bless the Palins and their family.

AM just couldn’t wait to yank that copy of Newsweek out and thrust it in Sarah’s face could she? I bet she expected Sarah to get mad but Sarah answered her questions courteously, which is more than I could’ve. Get back under those ballons Andrea.

Is it possible that fair-minded liberals might get tired of the more rabid ones destroying any innocent Conservative bystander who dares to speak their mind when asked?hawkdriver on November 22, 2009 at 2:11 PM

We live to dream.

While the rest of the world delights in Obama’s bowing to them, and they dance on our ‘cadver’, prematurely, Sarah inspired optimism, like Reagan did.

No, I don’t think she’s Reagan, but compared to the Obama thugs, and their sucking up to the world until they’re brown with caca, she’s an inspiration.

This is what the leftis fear. They instinctively know; it’s a survival instinct – their own demise is enacted by her, and what effect she has on the masses.

The point is that once someone in Sarah’s team must have seen Andrea Mitchell and realized she was part of the press. She has with her a cameraman with perhaps a $25,000 camera and if Andrea Mitchell is a responsible journalist she would have let people know that she’s with NBC and wanted just a few moments to talk with Mrs. Palin. Either Andrea Mitchell is not all that good at her job (which is a possibility) or Mrs. Palin was trying to dodge her. If Mrs. Palin was trying to dodge her that does not sit well with me.

I don’t think helps Sarah Palin image as someone who doesn’t like to answer tough questions.

terryannonline

Just what questions did she not answer? She replied to all the questions, and with courtesy.
