Quotes of the day

“Democrats would be foolish to write off her visceral power.
“As Judith Doctor, a 69-year-old spiritual therapist, told The Washington Post’s Jason Horowitz at Palin’s book signing in Grand Rapids, Mich., ‘She’s alive inside, and that radiates energy, and people who are not psychologically alive inside are fascinated by that.’…
“[Obama] struggles to transcend identity politics while she wallows in them. As he builds an emotional moat around himself, she exuberantly pushes whatever she has, warts and all — the good looks, the tabloid-perfect family, the Alaska quirkiness, the kids with the weird names.
“Just like the disastrous and anti-intellectual W., this Visceral One never doubts herself. The Cerebral One welcomes doubt.”
***
“Palin — and there’s just no way to deny this — is a supremely gifted politician. She has staked out, as her own personal political turf, the entire landscape of incoherent white American resentment. In this area she leaves even Rush Limbaugh in the dust…
“Most normal people cannot connect on an emotional level with Rush’s meanderings on how Harry Reid is buying off Mary Landrieu with pork in the health care bill. They can, however, connect with stories about how top McCain strategist and Karl Rove acolyte Steve Schmidt told poor Sarah to shut her pie-hole on election day, or how her supposed allies in the McCain campaign stabbed her in the back by leaking gossip about her to reporters, how Schmidt used the word ‘f**k’ in front of her daughter, or even with the strange tales about Schmidt ordering Sarah to consult with a nutritionist to improve her campaign endurance when she herself knew she just needed to get out in the fresh air and run (If there’s one thing Sarah Palin knows, it’s herself!)…
“She is the country’s first WWE politician — a cartoon combatant who inspires stadiums full of frustrated middle American followers who will cheer for her against whichever villain they trot out, be it Newsweek, Barack Obama, Katie Couric, Steve Schmidt, the Mad Russian, Randy Orton or whoever. Her followers will not know that she is the perfect patsy for our system, designed as it is to channel popular anger in any direction but a useful one, and to keep the public tied up endlessly in pointless media melees over meaningless nonsense (melees of the sort that develop organically around Palin everywhere she goes). Like George W. Bush, even Palin herself doesn’t know this, another reason she’s such a perfect political tool.”
***
“By attacking the former governor of a state smaller by population than Westchester County, a woman whose chances of being the next president are about the same as Nancy Pelosi’s, Democrats aren’t wasting their time at all. They are distracting conservatives and changing the subject…
“Last week, Obama looked exceptionally weak, naive and disingenuous, even for him: He got a knee in the face when he bowed to China; he admitted his promise to close Gitmo by January was the bloviation conservatives have always said it was; his attorney general invited terrorists to bring their Cirque du Jihad to New York so they can put the US national security apparatus on trial (and added that Obama wasn’t even part of the decision); the claims about stimulus-provided jobs turned out to involve lots of fictitious work in nonexistent congressional districts; a second Democratic senator threatened to help filibuster the health bill; and Afghanistan and Iran grew more dire as each hour brought the president inching ever closer to thinking about meeting to discuss the possibility of suggesting the next half-hearted response.
“So what preoccupied the nation? Bill Belichick’s 4th and two call. And the book tour of an unemployed former governor of a very small state…
“Republicans know all of this deep down, but we keep talking up her candidacy, looking for glimmers of hope in the polls, giving her attention and even sending her money when we should be refusing to take the bait. We never took Andrew Sullivan seriously before; why get aggravated by him now?”

Well for starters, she’s forcing the left to 1) DEPLETE their ammo 2 years ahead of the primaries, 2) VAPORIZE their credibility (while Sarah rains deadly three-pointers from mid-court) and 3) Sorely piss off the formerly quiet dragon of middle-America.
I am in awe of her political instincts. There’s no downside to this amazing book tour at all, and her interviews have been rock-solid, even impressing O’Reilly who really did NOT soft-ball her. She has complete freedom to speak her mind and has the massive media penetration necessary to skewer every dumb-ass thing Obam-bam says or does, and has the lamestream media having strokes trying to figure out what to do or say about her.
I’m enjoying this immensely, and am starting to feel hopeful for the first time in about 18 months.

If that is truly the case, then like it or not, if she really wants a change of direction in the country, she best start campaigning for some of these candidates in vulnerable Dem districts. And no talk of a 3rd party, please.

Palin is a private citizen. She can do what she wants. I hope she does a lot of campaigning for Republicans for the House and Senate. But that’s up to her. And she did rule out a third party approach.

I don’t care how much you felt you needed to say that, you didn’t have to sat it in that manner. And if you have so little control over your emotions, and so little respect for others and for common decency, then you have a lot in common with many liberals. Think about it.

That’s why I have recently backed off on being a big Liz fan.
She can be articulate, but it is becoming clear that she is like her father in that she probably is not a fiscon or socon like Palin. And let’s face it, the full-scale war in Iraq to wipe out the government and infrastructure instead of a scaled back operation to simply depose Saddam and put in another controllable Sunni warlord was not a prudent and conservative thing to do.
And Afghanistan will continue to be a big big problem due to various factors.
If Liz Cheney endorsed formally Hutchison, then it’s either a straight gender thing or she is a moderate.
Not good either way.
Sapwolf on November 23, 2009 at 4:05 AM
I find it fascinating how this quote is so negative in nature despite the fact that this person was tagged as being in line getting an autograph from someone they admired. It isn’t just Mrs. Palin they (those who are so afraid of her) are trying to belittle, it is us, citizens who actually think for themselves and understand the blood that was shed for true freedom. Is she going to solve all of this country’s problems? No, but she awakens the spirit by which this country was imagined and conceived upon. There is nothing so powerful as that.
I consider myself independent in thought and nature and the more they try to hurt “us” the more I will tell them to put it where the sun don’t shine.
Miss Molly on November 23, 2009 at 4:10 AM
Did you see the video , Liz was only sarcastic over the round table Palin bashing in contrast to no decision about the Afghan war. She wasn’t critical of Sarah.
the_nile on November 23, 2009 at 4:24 AM
So we have graduated or moved on from Sarah being a bimbo to now that Sarah is not a serious player.
Folks, Sarah has gained over 50,000 members on her Facebook since Going Rogue was released on Tuesday Nov 17.
Did you miss the Barbara Walters interview? Palin came across as very serious and spoke a lot slower that she normally does. And you add in part 2 of the O’Reilly interview. She had hardly smiled there. That was hardcore stuff. These folks must have decided to take their vacation this past week.
technopeasant on November 23, 2009 at 4:29 AM
So how many members does she have now? Does she have a lot?
What does it mean to be a member of her page? Does every member get an email of her latest message or something?
B Man on November 23, 2009 at 4:34 AM
I think she has more than a million facebook friends.
She ruled out a 3rd party run too early, not because she should do it, but because she might need that threat to keep the GOP Establishment honest, kind of a “play it straight or we go really rogue on your candy ass” type of threat. That is, if she runs.

BMan and Shotgun Messiah:
As I write this Sarah’s Facebook membership is now standing 1.055,896.
It proves she has a massive following and since the release of Going Rogue it has grown leaps and bounds.
SHE RULED OUT A THIRD PARTY RUN TOO EARLY
COMMENT:
Sarah made the comment in an interview with Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday that she was not interested in a third party but instead would pursue her goals within the GOP. You say she should have kept her powder dry. Well I disagree and here is why. There are many hardcore, partisan Republicans in the party who out of party loyalty would only vote for a Republican candidate and in addition look at anybody pursuing a third party option as a bit of a loon.
Yes, Sarah is ‘going rogue’ but that does not mean she has lost her political savvy or acumen. That IMHO was a huge admission on her part to stay withing the system and I believe has contributed to her heightened standing in the polls this last week.
technopeasant on November 23, 2009 at 5:12 AM
Excellent point, technopeasant. But do you feel, if she were to feel that she was not treated fairly in the nominating process, that she has room to go in another direction?

I know this isn’t the best place to raise this concern—but it’s the only one I can access.
I wish HotAir wouldn’t give Kathleen Parker such prominence on your site.
Before Parker “went rogue” against McCain and (especially) Palin in the 2008 election, she was a mildly popular writer. Certainly not a prominent one.
Then, as we all remember, she gained more national prominence than she’d ever had before, by being one of the first conservatives to start dumping publicly on Palin.
For this, she has been well paid. Before her anti-Palin screeds, I could only find one article of hers in the WaPo. Now, she’s part of their Writers Group. She’s been on Hardball and the Stephen Colbert show, and (IIRC) even ridden on Air Force One.
That’s all well and good. But, Parker shouldn’t have it both ways. By linking her, aren’t you make her voice more prominent? If so, then doesn’t that validate and reward the course of action she took?
IMO this woman should be shunned by conservatives. To be clear, I am NOT saying we should object to her speaking and writing. I AM saying we should not help her profit from it.
I’ll bet that Kathleen Parker’s marketability stems, at least in some part, from the belief (?) that she “represents” conservatives. That makes her criticisms of conservatism even more delicious reading for the WaPo readership and staff. She is, apparently, casting herself as a Dian Fossey, who’s spent time in the mist with the conservative apes, and thus can accurately describe their antics and authoritatively dissect them for a liberal readership that just can’t get enough of seeing conservatives dissected.
I recommend, therefore, that we deny this woman the credibility she needs to sustain her schtick. If she wants to market herself to the Chris Matthews crowd, let her. That’s her right.
But let’s not help make her credible. She stuck a knife in our back in 2008, by the way that she behaved. (E.g., publicly calling on Palin to voluntarily drop out of the VP spot on the McCain ticket. “Do it for your country,” she said…and, in so saying, giving the Obama team a potent soundbite.) Let her make her way on her own, in the new land she’s chosen to live in.

So it’s all Sarah’s fault that the MSM ‘has not focused on Barry’s gaffes’.
That’s like saying it’s Mel Kiper’s fault that a NFL drafted a college player too high.
Who controls the MSM in American now? Obama and Soros. Why do think Rush calls it state-run media. Because of its ability to spread lies, disinformation and propaganda which paints Palin in the worst possible light and portrays Obama as some kind of god without any earthly flaws.
technopeasant on November 23, 2009 at 7:19 AM
I have to get to work, and haven’t read every single comment here, but I have a very simple prediction about the role Palin will play in 2012:
Not king, but king maker.
I don’t think she wants to President, and although I admire her a great deal I’m not so sure I want her to be; but her endorsement could put some other conservative over the top, and make her a serious player within the party. And you can’t do that if people are wondering if you’re so fringe you might strike on a out third party run.

CarolynM on November 23, 2009 at 7:46 AM
I have always liked Sarah, but I too doubted she was Presidential material. Then I read her book – all of it, not just parts of it. And Sarah is the real deal.
I have no doubt that if elected, Sarah would put together the best and hardest working cabinet this country has seen in many years. I believe she would be able to get an energy/environmental package through Congress that increases our supplies of oil and natural gas, iadvances the use of clean technologies, and reduces our environmental footprint.
Above all else, Sarah is a pragmatist with an unswerving faith in America, the American people, and free market Capitalism. She believes as Reagan did that America is still the “Shining City on the Hill” and that we must serve as a beacon of freedom to the world. She has adopted Reagan’s philosophical and realistic approach to armed conflicts – “We Win, They Lose”.
Every time I read criticism of Sarah, it is obvious the person has not read “Going Rogue” or simply decides to make up their own facts. If even half of what she says about the McCain campaign team is true, it clearly demonstrates what a corrupt and sinister governmental we have.
Where people see Sarah complaining, I see Sarah enlightening. I have a much better idea of how a national campaign is run and the packaging of candidates that takes place. I see how the entire campaign is about messaging and how the mainstream media does little to investigate the message, but does much to find dirt on Conservative candidates.
To see what a positive attitude Sarah has after the pounding she has taken is inspirational to me. To see how hard this woman works while raising a family makes me realize how much more I can accomplish each day and week. I think many of us are simply inspired at just how much this woman accomplishes with a smile on her face all the while the mainstream media continually tries to beat her down.
I also now understand how the Democrats orchestrated the attacks against Sarah and understand what all Conservative candidates have to be ready for. Using surrogates to attack Palin while the media treats the surrogates as real news sources, shows just how in bed the media is with the Democrat Party.
Questions I have after finishing the book are:
1) Should we adopt the same tactics as the Democrats?
2) Why is the Republican Party such a failure at communications when Sarah is successful by simply using Facebook and twitter?
3) Why are most Democrat Senators and Congressmen given a free ride? My state has 2 Democrat Senators and I never read or hear anything about them – except what they want me to hear.
huckleberryfriend on November 23, 2009 at 7:53 AM
The 2008 national GOP POTUS campaign was baptism by fire, initiating Palin to national politics. What went wrong was McCain’s campaign, his own faults, not Palin’s contribution to the campaign dialogue. Considering how impotently McCain completely succumbed to his CHOSEN warped campaign “headquarters” directions as his decisions, including the consistent malpractice towards Palin post-election, what would have ruined Palin beyond recovery would have been more attachment to McCain than she suffered at his hand at the time of her national introduction.
Because Palin IS THE IDEA that can not be successfully extinguished, she continues on course having learned the imperative lesson: TRUST, BUT VERIFY.
Not every door that opens is what it appears to be. Nor should one cross through a door the first time expecting expecting to find a bed of roses as the reward for exercising faith. Palin’s political enemies are the very forces destroying our Constitutional Republic. Sarah is the standard bearer holding to the Constitution and rallying the public.
Go Sarah!
maverick muse on November 23, 2009 at 7:59 AM
“The cerebral one welcomes doubt”? Hardly. In spite of Ms. Dowd’s head-up-his-ass literary approach to Obama, “doubt” is NEVER welcomed by the poster boy for the Chicago Machine. In fact, challenging or “doubting” him always results in excoriation by every MSM and leftist extant.

maverick muse on November 23, 2009 at 8:07 AM
That’s kind of funny that you ask should we have the same tactics. Democrats have sold thier souls to win lately.
They always used to complain how they were RIGHT about issues but they were too nice. Well over the last 4 years they’ve ditched being nice and gotten much more dirty and insulting then republicans ever have.
NO we shouldn’t do the same tactics. Palin doesn’t need to stoop to the democrats level and by God I hope she doesn’t.
The democrats have the WH and congress and media but they are a bunch of souless people.
Much colder and heartless then any conservative they used to complain about.
Most republicans are part of the problem. The are guided by consultants and focus groups. They get their piece of the pie, too. And they’re scared of being called un-PC.
Sarah doesn’t care about that.
I just hope she doesn’t sell out to become even more powerful the powers-that-be will tempt her, make no mistake.
Hillary is the biggest sell out ever. I hope Palin doesn’t go the same route.
Most D congressmen are given a free ride because the media is full of democrats too. It’s all the same sh!t.
They’re all in it together; the media being a watch dog or critic of politicians is a myth. There is no neutral media anymore.
It all come down to keeping us stupid or making us stupid.
Dumbing the country down to pass their bs on us.
Anybody who comes along and tries to fight that dumbing down of America is a real threat.
As long as the corruption in DC benefits the powers-that-be it’s ok, you see. Sarah Palin represents the tables being turned over. For that alone in their eyes she MUST be stopped.
That’s why when Obama was the candidate of “change” as soon as the media started pulling for him you knew that he was bs. Unless you were a fan of socialism.

Though horribly painful, it was necessary to completely realize the extent of corruption permeating the entire federal government. Remaining optimistic does not require remaining trusting in others to be fulfilling their own responsibilities as honorably as Palin.
Those who remained with Palin through the national/international media purge meant to politically and personally assassinate her and finish her off are the ONLY ones whom Palin can count on to believe in her. Yet not all those have all that Palin yet needs to absorb.
Experience is a dear teacher, and a fool will learn by no other. I reference that adage as Palin now fine tunes her political arsenal. Just as McCain’s downfall was paved by his poor choices constructing/destroying his campaign, Palin’s future success will either be facilitated or handicapped by the choices she makes now INDEPENDENTLY, to whom Palin turns and trusts.
TRUST BUT VERIFY. Not every door that opens does so to facilitate virtue’s empowerment; as often as not, the door that opens is a trap-door. That doesn’t mean that you must never enter through open doors; but that you must be on guard at all times.
The one “flaw” Palin outgrew is her willingness to give people in camp the benefit of the doubt before properly scrutinizing weaknesses as the chief must. Trust but verify. It doesn’t do simply to repeatedly ask someone if they followed up on an assignment and take their affirmation at face value; demand to see the report, and conference informally along the way with those whom the deputy was to lobby.
Live and learn. Proponents of evolution must permit and accept Palin’s growth in wisdom. Otherwise, face the fact of liberal hypocrisy: evolution for me but not for thee.

Maybe there’s something clever here that I’m just missing. you seem agitated by my assessment, and I can’t tell whether you’re bristling at the notion of Palin NOT being President, or the notion of her BEING a power in the GOP. In any case, you don’t appear to understand the difference between “think” (as in “I don’t think she wants to be President”) and “know” (as in “How do you know?”).
There’s a reason I didn’t say “Sarah told me…” or “I am certain…” I made a prediction. Not a prophecy, just a prediction. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m right. But I never claimed any certainty about the future or the mind of Ms. Palin.
RegularJoe on November 23, 2009 at 8:39 AM
Alaska! “a very small state”–Kyle Smith, NYPost (an author who no doubt champions eugenic population control only values how many ILLEGAL voters live where per “small state”.)
As if being the largest in SIZE and in NATURAL RESOURCES (oil, gas, fishing, logging) are without value. As if strategic location has no bearing per military national defense. As if the only thing that matters is having the largest population, larger than anyone else, in order to enhance a state.
HARDLY. For example, flood the populated Golden State of Californication with more people than legally have permission, and how does the huge population “benefit” the nation? With BANKRUPTCY. With a political agenda that is absolutely diametrically opposed to the citizens of that state and the citizens of the nation in which that populous downfall of a Golden State drags.
Poor Allahpundit can’t read Palin’s book; it’s against his religion. Instead, he posts a typical HotAir thread of links regarding “popular opinion” for debate. However, Allahpundit only posts the opinions of others who also fail to read a book in question, but talk about it as “experts” stuck on stupid water cooler rhetoric. That’s NYC urban jungle revisionist authentic mythology, and Chicken Little is damned sure to get his money’s worth from that educational investment.

Well said by both.
I loved and admired Reagan for the good decent man he was and because he loved this country. I love and admire Sarah for the same reasons and because of her grace under the insane firestorm of unjust hatred by the deranged left. I would not blindly follow any politician. I didn’t think Reagan was perfect, I don’t think Sarah is either, and I don’t agree with them on every stance. But I can recognize those with strong character and moral fiber—something most public figures today are sorely lacking in—and appreciate it and be glad they represent me.
Someone once made the point that Reagan didn’t care who got the credit as long as what was done helped this country. I believe that and I believe Sarah is the same way. They aren’t looking for glory. The one thing that struck me most about Obama from the first is that imo he wants the adulation, he didn’t run for president because he loves and wants to help this country, he wants the glory.

“Score” is the quote of the day from Miss Mary (D-LA) and ‘I’d do it again’. Gotta keep those crazy cajuns on the plantation with their hands out. Wonder how much this boondoggle is going to cost us when the rest of the crooks start writing their amendments to this crap of a bill. Miss Mary, Miss Blanche and Massa Ben are only the beginning. Chuckie is already salivating.

Political talent should not be tossed away lightly. We actually have too little of it in our country today.

Wow. Do these guys ever not get it.
The psychologist almost got it right – Sarah’s definitely alive inside. Where the psychologist went wrong is that those that are dead inside (the left) are not simply fascinated by her, they have an unreasoning hatred of her.
Dowd says that Sarah never doubts herself. I suspect that’s not true – she is however guided by her faith in herself and her own mind (even though some of that internal strength comes from religious faith), not by her faith in “her betters”. There really is nothing the elites hate more than someone who laughs at them. Sarah, despite her religious faith, is very Randian and is incurring the very special wrath that all individualists do. Even Sarah’s resignation as governor, because she would not cede control of her life to others, is very John-Galt-ish.

I’m not a big fan of AP. I’ve excoriated him a time or two myself. But your comment is shallow and ignorant.
He may or may not agree with the anti-Palin articles he posts. But when it comes to the QsOTD, he, without comment, simply posts what is out there, usually in the proportion it exists. For every one positive article for Palin there are two (or more) negative ones.
This accomplishes two important things. One, it shows what kind of work the Pro-Palin people have to convince people why we may think Palin is worth listening to.
Notice I just said “woth listening to” and not convince people she is “the best candidate.” She has not declared that she would be, let alone is, running for any office.
The second thing that AP’s posts accomplish is, these articles he cites reveal the arguments that the left, and the psuedo-right, produce. As we examine the arguments, we can develop cogent responses and show, again, why Palin is correct in her assesments.
There is a third reason that he posts these incendiary articles. That’s his “job.”
These posts generate traffic. If they make money, then HotAir survives, and we have fun blasting AllahPundit.

When I place my cursor over the blue text, the source shows up on the staus bar. Seems sufficient to me.

Excellent point !!!
If the HotAir bloggers are throwing out quotes for our benefit and comments, we might want to know who said them!
Could Ed and Allah PLEASE do us a favor by writing the speaker’s or writer’s name under every “quote”? After all, a “quote” is a statement attributed to someone else–doesn’t the speaker deserve to be acknowledged?

New Iowa Poll indicates Sarah’s “credibility factor” is now rising as a potential presidential contender. :)

Wow, lawyer speak – I rest my case blah, blah, blah.
In addition, where in my comment did I say that Palin is the only conservative? Oh, Sarah walks on water now too according to you!
Who is writing nonsense?
If you are a conservative, argue for me here just what position Palin has that you take issue with? If you don’t disagree with Palin’s positions on energy, or any other she’s addressed then why are you participating in this forum.

A+
beachgirlusa on November 23, 2009 at 12:12 PM
Remember, Mr Purple, you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Not that I’m comparing AP to a fly. After all, flies eat sh*t and bother people. Hmmm.
SKYFOX on November 23, 2009 at 12:21 PM
I don’t disagree with most of the positions she has taken. But I don’t think she communicates well, I don’t think she did a good job during her vice-presidential run, and I don’t think her resignation as Governor was a good move (and I don’t buy the explanation given in her speech). Maybe I’m wrong, but so far I haven’t seen anything to change my mind.
My point was that Kyle Smith is a good conservative writer, a veteran of the first Gulf War, who has the temerity to criticize Palin-and then is immediately and inaccurately labeled an effete Frum-type RINO by many of the Palin admirers on this forum.
And then you essentially did the same thing to me, a loyal conservative who is not totally enamored of Palin. You accused me of being a Frum fan, Specter admirer, ad nauseum. All untrue. My initial post criticized that type of attitude by the Palinistas on this forum. That is why I said “I rest my case”. Because you helped prove my point.
Thank you.
Sorry, but you can be a true conservative, and still not think Sarah Palin is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Dreadnought on November 23, 2009 at 1:08 PM
I really like Sarah because she marches to her own drum, I feel that the slime of politics will not attach itself to her.
She is ,Country, family, honesty and God, what more could you ask.
I have always been Republican until two years ago when I became Ind. If she could clean up the Rep.party to what it used to stand for I would gladly return.
I will be closly watching the candidates she supports.
concernedsenior on November 23, 2009 at 1:29 PM
Amen. No conservative should be ripping her to shreds; but no more than we’ve heard of HER, IN PERSON (i.e. no possibility of a ghost writer), talking about ISSUES (and “how Sarah Palin has been mistreated” — which she certainly has been — is not an issue), it is reasonable to have doubts.
It is amazing to hear people who scoff at Obama for possibly having used a ghost writer for his book, while being unwilling to even consider the implications if Palin uses one for her policy articles. Many of the same people will rightly decry the cult of Obama built around little but “hope and change”, but demand no more of Palin than “this great land…”.
Make no mistake, I like Palin. If she can go into the cage with her media detractors and give a competent showing in the face of tough questions, she could be my pick. But until then, I’ve little more patience with Palin-bots than with Obama-bots.
RegularJoe on November 23, 2009 at 1:55 PM
This the first time I’ve ever heard of Kyle Smith. If he is a conservative good for him. I’ll look into his positions & review later today.
Greatest thing since sliced bread, huh? Quit using idiomatic expressions. They don’t advance any reasoning in a for or against argument.
Americannodash on November 23, 2009 at 2:12 PM
FIFY
I’ll stick with Sarah.
FREEDOM!
Blacksmith8 on November 23, 2009 at 2:42 PM
Sorry, boss, but that dog won’t hunt. Idioms and colloquialism are part and parcel of the language. Besides, do you really not see the irony of a Palin
supporterworshipper decrying informal language? You do your cause no favors.
RegularJoe on November 23, 2009 at 3:00 PM
That dog won’t hunt is an idiom as well. Thanks for proving my point of not advancing any reasoning in a for or against argument.
By stating I have a cause presumes too much. You don’t me & I don’t you. If you would like to discuss the topic of the thread, I’ll reply. Don’t interject in to my discussion with Dread. He seems quite capable of taking care of himself.
Americannodash on November 23, 2009 at 3:38 PM
Gosh, “that dog won’t hunt” is an idiom? Wow, I didn’t know that! /sarc
OF COURSE IT’S AN IDIOM, YOU MORON!! I’m challenging your authority tell everyone else what the rules are, and purposely defying the rule in the process, you opaque dork. Sheesh. Then you go on to play the “if you would like to discuss the topic of the thread…” card — that’s what the other guy was doing when you went all Rhetoric 101 on his @$$.
I really assume, at this point, that you’re a troll, so I’m done with you; but I have to post this anyway. I just can’t resist telling you what a fool you are. Now, go pronounce yourself the victor, then go upstairs and see if your Mom will make you a sandwich or something.

So Palin is weak and dumb, or only attracts the weak minded, or is only a pop star… cause she looks good, or plucks our Freudian complex….. or what ever other nonsense they make up.
-
They will soon run out of big words and ideas to curse her with, then they will become whimpering cry babies at the mention of her name…
-
Who is this woman? Defying the dying MSM? Rebelling against the elite in the RNC? Telling Obozo when and how high to jump? Changing the battle field day-by-day? Who is this Sarah?
-
Whether she ever holds a political title again or not… God love her and keep her safe. Her kind is truly rare.

I’m not sure I understand why it makes a difference that I sometimes use hokey, corny, cliched idiomatic expressions when I make an argument.
RegularJoe: I appreciate your input.
