Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?
posted at 9:00 am on November 22, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
It’s time for our weekly salute to Barack Obama’s amateurish stumbles, and of course, it’s all about him, as is just about everything. If he’s not the Omega, he’s at least the Alpha of the Pacific. Obama is so good, he can make reset buttons work even when no one can see a difference, and omniscient enough to know the successful outcomes of federal trials even when the entire point is to consider defendants innocent until proven guilty.
Previous “winners”:
- Bowing to Emperor Akihito in Japan
- Giving 2 minutes of “shout-outs” before getting to the Fort Hood shooting
- Accusing Cheney not focusing on Af-Pak just before heading out to 3 fundraisers and a golf outing
- WH retreats on Fox News war when other broadcasters object
- Obama declares war — on liberal bloggers and Fox News
- US was on “path to recovery” before durable goods orders fell, mass layoffs rose
- Obama goes to Copenhagen (and comes home empty)
- Taxes, definitions, auto insurance, and Merriam-Webster dictionaries
- Throwing Poland under the bus on missile defense on 70th anniversary of Soviet invasion
- Obama warns of “partisan scare tactics,” warns “people will die” if ObamaCare stalls
- Obama doesn’t check to see if schools in session for his national speech
- Getting all wee-wee’d up
- The “public option” is just like the Post Office!
- We’re going to listen to other people’s ideas, except that people who disagree should shut up
- Snitch Central for ObamaCare dissenters
- Rushing legislation bad in 2004, essential in 2009
- Obama opines on Gates arrest without “having all the facts”
- Obama salutes the Ghana flag
- Obama jokes about Alaska sale with Russians
- Obama uses union and DNC plants at health-care town hall
- Obama plants a question on Iran with HuffPo
- Change in Iran coming because “Obviously, after the speech I made in Cairo…”
- Flashing his soles to the camera while talking to Netanyahu
- “If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
- “We can no longer afford to spend as if deficits do not matter and waste is not our problem.”
- Siccing Tim Geithner and Charlie Rangel on tax cheats
- Phony Churchill quote on torture throws Grandpa under the bus
- Torture probe flip-flop
- Obama covers up IHS while quoting Jesus
- Austrian is a language?
- Obama bows to the Saudi king
- 1908 Model T got better gas mileage than today’s SUVs

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

More on the lawyer saying that his clients will turn the NYC trial into a circus…
Which raises an interesting point-the planning and training for the 9/11 attacks began in 1996. Bush and Cheney weren’t President then. A Democrat was.

Inadmissible. Motion to suppress any and all testimony that makes the Democrat party look like they mishandled dealings with Global Islamic Terrorism. Jihadists began their campaign against the United States the day George W. Bush became President, and ended it the day Barack Hussein Obama was inaugurated.

A very incomplete history of Obama so called ‘screw ups’
1. Butchers own oath of office, waits to corrrect, or did he?
2. 1st broadcast – Aljezeera lite
3. Glad-hands Chavez, accepts anti-US book
4. Goes on worldwide apology tour, skips Normandy visit
5. Bows to Saudi King
6. Sends Bust of Churchill back to UK
7. Gives Russia a Red Reset Button reading ‘overcharge’ (see 11)
8. Gives UK’s Brown an unusable DVD player
9. Shows sole of shoes for photo-op when talking to Israel P.M.
10. Abruptly has Sotomayor wisked to private room for the swearing in to uphold constitution – in private
11. Rescinds Poland/Czech defense agreement On the Anniversary of Russian Invasion!
12. Backs dictator Zelaya on Honduras, ignoring Honduran Supreme ourt and their Constitution
13. Proposes that 9/11 becomes ‘National Service Day’
14. Decides commenting on Ft. Hood massacre should be the 3rd order of business
15. Tries the fat terrorist bastard ‘mastermind’ of 9/11, KSM, in a civilian court mere blocks from the hole in NYC.
Conclusion, he is anti-freedom, anti-american. All that hanging around with communists and democrat funding by one-world socialists society types like Soros’ and his Open Society Institute has resulted in a coup, another ‘velvet revolution’ is under way our beloved Republic.
Memory Lane…

I have to agree that the choices are overwhelming as he screws so many things up.
But yet, his agenda keeps marching on. It’s just really frustrating to see nothing getting in his way when it comes to major legislation.
I guess that’s why it’s up to us take care of it in 2010!

Glad-hands Chavez, accepts anti-US book
His popularity would have soared if he’d thumbed through it and tossed that book over his shoulder in plain view of all involved.
He coulda pulled the wool over a few pairs of eyes for a few extra hours with that one…and that’s about it.
All the other crap this anti-American…our President who does “Shout Outs” while warriors are transported to hospitals…these myriad things he does to slap those of us who love this Republic in the face will always be remembered regardless of what future insincere and well acted play he puts on to convince us of his love for America.

Considering that Obummer is a Constitutional lawyer, how can it be anything other than the “fair trial”?

Here’s another one from Japan -
Obama bungle produces ‘worst U.S.-Japan summit in history’:

Our state-run media has a habit of not telling us what’s really going on…

Stedman’s a crappy Attorney General and a traitor!
MCGIRV on November 22, 2009 at 6:37 PM
This is not fair, Ed.
Each of these is good enough.
How can someone choose?
But, if I have to
I’ll take Jury Tampering.
He’s such a moron!

KSM, although as usual, I wanted to vote for all options.
The civilian trial of a Terrorist (note the capital T), with all the rights accorded to Americans, will be the farce of the century.
Obama’s declaration that KSM will be found guilty has truly tainted the trial based on the assumption of innocence (snark). Is that not enough ground to impeach the supposedly constitutional lawyer-turned community organizer-turned affirmative action President?
I hope with all my heart that Obama will be impeached before his term ends!
mz.josephine on November 22, 2009 at 9:50 PM
Ed needs to add all of the above as a choice.
What this proves is Yale graduates (GW Bush) are more intelligent than Harvard graduates (Obowma)….Well, we think Obowma graduated, we don’t really know….or at Columbia, for that matter….or?
dthorny on November 23, 2009 at 1:35 AM
These are getting tougher each week…each can be argued as devastating for any other president…but this one it is just another week.
right2bright on November 23, 2009 at 9:07 AM
I went with the majority this time. Our developmentally-challenged precedent almost guarantees an appeal if KSM is convicted. I’m just not sure it was a screw-up. I’m leaning towards intentional.
SKYFOX on November 23, 2009 at 9:33 AM
This week, it is impossible to choose!!!
Where is the “All of the above…and more” button?
