At least if you lost, you would know you went down fighting. As God made little green apples, be assured if Palin gains the 2012 GOP nomination she will not go down without a fight. If Obama wins he will first have been bloodied up, bruised and wounded. He will not escape the ring unscathed.

technopeasant on November 20, 2009 at 11:22 AM

That's the game as I see it. I think Palin is our best shot at the White House. Before that, there's the House and Senate in 2010. But, all along the way, it's a game of last man standing. You keep in the fight, no withdraw, no quarter, and you keep swinging until you've got nothing left.
blink.
If the other guy's still up, you find something you didn't know you had and you swing some more. If you do go down, you get up and get back at it. There is no quit. There is no "I tried". There is only win. When you are in a fight for your life, you gain clarity and focus.

Man Megan Mcardle is such an idiot. The media is only out to get Obama, I guess. By viciously accepting that he "restored America's image" in the world. And called his TWO bows, no big deal (despite the NYT conniption when Clinton nodded slightly to the same Japanese Emperor).

That's why we really don't like you.

I think I’ll coin a new phrase (word, actually), too: McPigheaded. Its the obstinate refusal to accept reality based on one’s desire that reality be different.

“That’s why I really wish the media wouldn’t act like, well, a bunch of elitist hooligans who are out to get her. I’ve coined a new phrase to cover the situation: Palinoia. It’s when you think people are out to get you, and then they do their best to justify your erroneous belief.”

Which would pretty much by definition make that belief totally justified, right Maggie? As in not erroneous. It's not paranoia -- or "Palinoia" -- if they really are out to get you.

I think I'll coin a new phrase (word, actually), too: McPigheaded. Its the obstinate refusal to accept reality based on one's desire that reality be different. It is admittedly not nearly as pithy or easy to say as "Palinoia" but it does have the benefit of actually being accurate.

What is the more likely scenario: Big Media is out to get politician they vehemently disagree with; or politician falsely accuses media of being out to get her, which causes the media to try to get her? Occam's razor Maggie. Use it.

But will enough people wake up in time to realise this?

    Crux Australis

I believe so, yes. A lot woke up when Sarah first walked onto the national stage last year and more are waking up everyday....

Don't give up hope in the America that we love. I woke up during the first Gulf War. I'd watch the daily press conference at the Pentagon and then watch the networks tell me what was said. It didn't take long to realize one of us had watched a different briefing, or else one of us had an agenda.

That was long before the manbearpignet, blogs, twitter and every means of communication available today. Keep informed and be the one in your circle that friends and family come to find out the truth.

Americans don't go away quietly and without a fight. To quote Lady Thatcher, "This isn't the time to go wobbly."

Given a choice I'd rather stand behind a fighter who was always willing to engage the enemy rather a beta male who sheepishly refrains from getting his hands dirty.

At least if you lost, you would know you went down fighting. As God made little green apples, be assured if Palin gains the 2012 GOP nomination she will not go down without a fight. If Obama wins he will first have been bloodied up, bruised and wounded. He will not escape the ring unscathed.

Hey Allah - you might be interested to know that Fred Grandy on WMAL in D.C. used the term Palinoia this morning. I didn't listen to the whole show, but didn't hear any attribution. Maybe you should copyright future terms.

You people complained when Bush didn't fight back against all the bad press and now complain when Sarah does what you wanted Bush to do. Sarah has a lot of talking heads giving advice. She should take some of it in but keep her own council. I think she has more good common sense than most.

BOR certainly didn't give a powder puff interview. Good on him for that. She's handling herself much better now that the reins are off.

P.S. He gave her some good advice as well.

Gosh, she has 3 years. After the book tour, my guess is that she'll have time to delve more deeply into national issues. She'll do her homework and build depth to her commonsense philosophy.

Just reading the book so far, my sense is that she's like a lot of women who have succeeded. Nothing beats good preparation.

This is merely a book tour. Half the battle is already won. People are reading it. She's clearly laying out for people who she is, how she thinks, what she's about. She's not naive to politics. She knows how to win and lose.

That's half the battle, I think. Nobody is going to win them all.

But her ideas are still seminal. After the tour is over, she can prepare in her own way on topics.

We are beginning to see what Alaskan's have seen for years...a leader who cares about America, really cares. Not lip service, but actually cares for the people, not the press, not the journalists, not the other politicians...but the citizens.
She comes across as "inarticulate" at times (their perception, not mine), because most have been conditioned to think being talked down to, and told what to think, for the past several decades is the proper way for a politician and journalist to communicate.
She reminds me of that great story of the boy, the very average boy who came back to his reunion as a multi-millionaire, when asked about his success by his teachers he stated: I found out that if you buy something at $2 dollars and sell it at $7, that 5% adds up real quick...common sense trumps psuedo intellect everytime...but people love to her the words, and cringe at thinking they have to take action.
Conservatives are ready to take action...but a few want to hear the pretty words...
