Quotes of the day

posted at 10:55 pm on November 18, 2009 by Allahpundit

“I asked Palin about the anti-tax-and-spending tea parties. ‘I love the tea party movement,’ she said. ‘It’s beautiful, it’s healthy. It’s part of that good healthy competition that’s needed in a political party.’ She contrasted the somewhat tumultuous state of the GOP to what’s going on in the Democratic party today. ‘It seems like the Democratic party is filled with more sheep-like individuals, who go along and get along,’ she said.”

***
“‘I don’t know what I am or where I am right now,’ she said after being one of the first people in line to get her book signed. ‘But I’d do it again in a heartbeat.’”

***
Get a life. Go do something productive in this world.”

***
“Speaking on Sean Hannity’s radio show, Palin said that ‘some on the left, that lamestream media, they’re contradicting what I wrote in the book.’

“Hannity jumped in to ask, ‘did you say lamestream media?’”

***
“‘I think it’s a great symbiosis,’ said Tina Brown, editor-in-chief of The Daily Beast. ‘Everybody is using everybody.’”

Heart-ache! Sarah hits Allahpundit in NRO Inteview:

What does she think of that anonymity? “I don’t think much of it,” says Palin. “It’s kind of like the criticism from anonymous bloggers, which I totally ignore. If they don’t have the guts to put their name on it, then it’s not worth much to me.”

When I click through to the linked articles and read the comments, I can only laugh.

First, though, it’s interesting to note that, just like when Ed and Allah write about Palin, so many people are compelled to comment, regardless of whether they like her or not.

One comment from the Politico article is funny in that it describes the sheep who followed Obama to the voting booth:

” they are just desperate to be part of something bigger than they are. She is their messiah and they have no clue that she’s playing them all to gain personal wealth and power.”

Mark Boabaca on November 18, 2009 at 11:01 PM

Do you disagree with this Allah? Are we all supposed to be mindless drones of the GOP establishment that attacks social and Christian conservatives like you do? Or are you and your side up to a real debate where your ideas get challenged without having to resort to the kinds of tactics that results in candidates like McCain or Scozzafava. I’m thinking you can’t stand up to that kind of debate.

‘Cuda has rocked in every interview this week- I’m very impressed!!!! I heart her even more and know I’ll heart her more than that on Saturday when I meet her in Rochester. She may never be president, but she has a powerful message and delivery that may well turn the party around and get it back on it’s platform. It fell off about 8 years ago.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Palin defenders say the media continues its unfair treatment of her in this week’s “Newsweek,” where she’s pictured on the cover in running shorts. Palin called it sexist on her Facebook page.

But conservative David Frum says, she has brought it on herself.

DAVID FRUM: This is a woman who has got into a position of leadership by sending very powerful sexual signals. And we see that in the way that men like her much more than women do.

Palin, to prove her effectiveness beyond popularity, needs to ramp up the protest of “trying KSM”~ an illegal enemy combatant, terrorist and war criminal~ “in the American civilian court system”.

She should pile on, now, giving the issue enough added attention to make it explode in Obama’s smug face.

This show-trial, if allowed to proceed, would only provide a U.S.-paid Jihad Propaganda Forum for these monsters to preach their homicidal madness to the world.

And surely convert a few more fellow maniacs to their diseased “cause”.

And result in more terrorism.

Which AG Holder considers “smart”.

Palin should use the attention now focused upon her to turn it onto this POLITICALLY-TAINTED IDIOCY.

And save our system by derailing this Obama FOLLY.

Third party Palin ain’t happening.
She has made it perfectly clear, just as I have been saying for weeks, that she is following the Reagan model of reforming the Republican Party from the inside.
If you heard the Rush interview, this was explicitly clear, and she repeated the same sentiments tonight with Hannity.

By the way Sarah Palin was to be interviewed by Mark Levin tonight on his radio program.
I’m sure the same point will be made, that she believes in the platform of the Republican party being the best for America when those principles are applied, and she is all for duking it out within the party, taking a stand for your beliefs.

Won’t be a third party Sarah.

The one thing I took away from Bill O’Rielly is that during the email segment, someone wrote in and said they were conservative (lies) and would never vote for Governor Palin because she’s not qualified, and he looked into the camera and said he want the person to write back after watching his interview and let him know what they thought.

That said to me that after his interview, Bill O’Rielly thinks she is and may have been impressed with her.

You are indeed silly if you think that social and Christian conservatives are not at the root of fiscal conservatism as well. It’s all part of the same package of traditional values. If you show up at a tea party event, you will not find a pure gathering of fiscal conservatives content to allow on-demand abortions or same sex marriage. You go beyond silliness outright foolishness if you think otherwise.

It’s all part of the same package of traditional values. If you show up at a tea party event, you will not find a pure gathering of fiscal conservatives content to allow on-demand abortions or same sex marriage. You go beyond silliness outright foolishness if you think otherwise.

Well, a lot of people intersect on fiscal conservativism, but not on “traditional family” values type politics.

I personally don’t think that politics should involve itself so much in people’s personal lifestyles.

What a great response this is whenever some idiot calls her a quitter for resigning her office. She didn’t quit, she was reloading.

Frum says Palin sending very powerful sexual signals

JUDY WOODRUFF: Palin defenders say the media continues its unfair treatment of her in this week’s “Newsweek,” where she’s pictured on the cover in running shorts. Palin called it sexist on her Facebook page.

But conservative David Frum says, she has brought it on herself.

DAVID FRUM: This is a woman who has got into a position of leadership by sending very powerful sexual signals. And we see that in the way that men like her much more than women do.

Then perhaps she should get the interview question “If you ran for president and won what assurances can you give that you wouldn’t resign halfway into it?”

I agree from a law point of view as in making it illegal etc. but from a bully pulpit point of view i have no problem with politicians SPEAKING about morals and family values and what is the best way forward for children etc. As long as they keep it at speaking about and don’t tell people what to do in their bedrooms with ADULTS.

Qualification is up to voters, not the media or blogs.
AnninCA on November 18, 2009 at 11:35 PM

When it comes to national office, qualification is defined by the Constitution. You’re mistaking qualification with fitness for office. Assuming you believe that the filthy lying coward was born in Hawaii, he is qualified for the job but he is utterly unfit to do the job.

But gosh golly darn gee whiz betcha by golly wow all she needs to do is interview well and she is the most qualified person to be president?!

Bradky on November 18, 2009 at 11:36 PM

You’re a moron. She quit because she was being bogged down with frivolous ethics complaints, which was COSTING her money and stifling her ability to provide and care for her family. You have it totally backwards.
