Video: Hey, who’s up for six minutes of “teabagger” jokes on MSNBC?
posted at 10:00 pm on November 17, 2009 by Allahpundit
No, just kidding. There’s only two minutes or so of actual jokes. The other four-plus minutes are devoted to Olby taking credit for mainstreaming a sexual euphemism to degrade his political opponents. Good work; it’s important to have goals, especially when you’re the Edward R. Murrow of your generation.
For essential context on this delicate point, I refer you to John Simpson’s old but gold analysis at Big Hollywood of who’s really ‘bagging whom these days. Exit quotation from Matt Welch, addressing the meme du jour: “Generally speaking, when key evidence is ‘unspoken,’ and in fact imagined by the prosecution, it’s a good bet that the overall case is weak.”

It would be funny if it weren’t so very, very sad.

It’s closer than you think. Olby’s numbers represent people who happen to have his station on when he’s on; yours represent only people who actually read your site.
I’ve seen MSNBC on in bars and nursing homes and hotel lobbies and school faculty lounges. They get the numbers, even if no one is paying attention.
Generally people who click on to your site, actually read what’s here.

With KO, no, but on some of the clips you post it might actually be close. Ed Schultz has dismally low ratings, and if Anderson Cooper’s still doing teabagging bits you could probably give him a run for his money.

Seriously this is disgusting. You know I used to watch CNN and I stopped when I heard James Carville warn about race riots if Barry lost. Apparently lot of folks turned away from CNN. Same story on other channels.

You know what would be a Ratings bonanza for prime time?
“The Great Debate” Each week have two people with opposite views get on stage in front of a equal panel and debate the questions asked. Beck VS Olberman would be a good start. Gore vs a 3rd grader… you get the point. Ratings through the ROOF!!

The only time ‘The Douche’ has ever been funny he was being spoofed by Ben Affleck on SNL.
thomasaur on November 17, 2009 at 10:30 PM
The word “douche” will always be my Pavlovian reaction to hearing this douche’s name or seeing his smug, douche bag face.
It would be a waste of energy to form an argument of any degree of sophistication. Even saying why he’s a douche, offers him too much respect. It’s demeaning. It would be like building a case to prove that the Earth is round. It just is and you don’t have to prove it or say why. And Olbermann is a douche. He just is. It’s self-evident and incontrovertible.
He’s a douche and that’s all that ever needs to be said about the douche.

liquidflorian on November 17, 2009 at 10:41 PM
It never fails, the more desperate liberals get, they more shrill and crude their attacks become.
This is good news, they’re losing the debate, and it’s obvious they know it.
mr.blacksheep on November 17, 2009 at 10:41 PM
I have a question…
why bother to even post this? I am not even going to watch what should be a bunch of shit…
who watches MSNBC dolt anyway? if we don’t watch him, why would we care what the hell he says? the only people who watch him are idiot liberals (and not too many of them anyway) and the only reason for posting this here is to rile up some people who come to HotAir and actually shows a bit of lazy… I guess it is like putting the magnetic words “Palin” in any headline and you get traffic like crazy…
so how about forgetting this dolt and posting on something I might actually watch
PhilipJames on November 17, 2009 at 10:43 PM
Treacher recently called Olbermann a Jack-o-Lantern with lungs. I just love that. He does have an enormous, creepy, empty head.
Ted Torgerson on November 17, 2009 at 10:44 PM
Liberalism at this level, is just capitalist opportunism, but wrapped in sanctimonious, hypocritical platitudes.
Olberdouche is, in this respect, no different to Michael Moore, George Galloway or Obama: a huckster on the make. The people they are grifting a bottom-feeder liberals who buy the books and contribute to the campaigns, ratings etc.
Fine. Smarter Liberals feeding off dumber Liberals. It’s a business but the hypocrisy makes you sick when you have to confront it on an almost daily basis. Liberalism belongs with its hillbilly cousin Socialism. Underground. It’s happier there. It has more credibility and its cynical acquisitive nature isn’t so obscenely transparent (for anyone with enough braincells to see through it).

I didn’t watch it, I don’t care to watch it. What I will say is that, once I hear or see the word “teabagger” or “teabagging” I immediately assume the person writing or speaking has no credibility.
I was shocked to hear President Clinton, a man who is generally careful about words, not realizing that using that word would be considered unacceptable. Once again, a Democrat proves to me they’re just lowlife people trying to divide the country.
I’m also surprised that an organization that’s trying to be respected as a news organization, would allow its employees to use those words against potential viewers. I know I won’t watch them, and I tended to watch them periodically to find out what the wacky left is doing.

Not going there, but tell me, people, why does NBC think it can have Olbermann on the NFL pregame show? Hasn’t he agregiously insulted at least half of his audience? Don’t they even know he’s an anti-American hater? I would think the TIVO stats are that whenever he comes on, half the audience turns the channel. Am I the only one that won’t watch him on Hot Air or on the NFL Pregame?
