By maintaining Allah's and Rush's MO, always voting for the lesser of two evils two things wil be true:

1) The people who are really conservative never get a chance to "break in".

2) We are continually moving towards evil, albeit slower than Flaming Liberals.

Why does everyone mention Patriot Act as if it violates your civil liberties?

Anyone caught using those methods without a “terrorism connection” or probable cause (FBI, for ex) is and has been JAILED. Period.

Why do you want to pretend the only Constitutional assault in the filthy thing is unwarranted wiretapping?

And you are aware that the Patriot Act was Biden's baby, right?

Sheriff Joe: "I drafted a terrorism bill after the Oklahoma City bombing. And the bill John Ashcroft sent up was my bill."

Bush (Progressive-TX) was a man-made disaster!

lorien,

Several questions for you:

1. Exactly what industries don't require an SSN for employment? I mean beyond picking folks up at day labor sites, that is. Spell it out for us, because each full- or part-time employer, according to my experience, is required to verify citizenship using the I-9. If they don't, they're violating the law.

2. Once these illegals agree to become citizens, how exactly will those employers currently violating the law by hiring them NOT be tempted to figure out the way around to hire illegals again? Unless, of course, they're thrown in jail. What's to prevent this from happening again?

3. How is each illegal expected to repay all of the welfare, food stamps, Section 8, and health care costs they've racked up during their tenure in the US, considering it takes 3 generations before they can begin to pay it back? Or are you okay with the $2500 bucks (or something similar) batted around in the so-called path to citizenship? Do you honestly expect people who broke the law to get here, con't to break the law to work, will actually say "Yep, you got me...here's my money"?

4. How will you address the border, considering a fence, virtual fence, all that will not prevent tunnels, ships, visa violators, etc.?

5. How will you ensure any NEW illegals will be deported, and their employers jailed? Please be specific in how you will pick and choose people to leave and explain why they can't stay, while others who broke the law CAN and HAVE.

I'm confused about your mention of families, etc. I'm not sure it matters, as they are law-breakers by entering illegally. We would be immediately arrested and deported from Mexico if we tried the same thing. Would Mexican authorities give us a break because we have families? HELL no.

I'd also argue the primary reason for higher crime rates, the dissolution of multiple hospitals, and the even higher budget shortfalls, to name just a few, in California can be directly or ultimately linked to one thing: illegal immigration. 5 hospitals in San Diego shut down in 2007 alone because of the drain on the system...I assume you're familiar with Michelle Malkin's other site? She's addressed this in multiple posts. (I'd assume you do b/c you visit here, but you don't comment as if you visit it...)

Illegal gangs in California are also targeting blacks, regardless of whether the victim is affiliated with a gang.

I frankly don't like your view of reality...it's more like pragmatism than reality, IMHO.

I think the solution isn't legalizing these folks...maybe it's changing the "anchor baby" law and deporting all illegals regardless of children (and that does not violate the Constitution...that's basic immigration law and the law is outdated), implementing e-Verify or another GOOD method of verification, jailing employers who violate the law, build a real BIG fence and hire enough personnel to patrol for tunnels and deal with other enforcement/customs issues, reduce the corporate tax rate for employers, and eliminate union wages or other unusual circumstance that punish both employee and employer.

What's interesting is how many Hispanics who are US Cits or LPRs would actually agree with my solutions, based on my discussions. LPRs particularly hate the fact that they waited for years getting to the US the right way, and others are subverting the process.

To us all, it's about what's fair and right.

Oh puhleeze. You Bushtards bought, and continue to buy, every line that big spending, bankster bailouting, NCLB shilling, Medicare expanding, Patriot Act (Orwellian much?) signing, interventionist progressive fed you.

You're the moron if you think the GOP can win on the idiotic Bush (preemptive perpetual war) Doctrine.

FYI: A strong defense != weak offense.

With the domestic interventionists on the left, and the foreign interventionists on the right, and all the bipartisanship in between, we'll be going the way of the Roman empire in short order. On the bright side, the two-headed one party state will be forced to give up their glorious nation-building, both at home and abroad.

he shows off a little knowledge on Afghanistan and Iran at around 17:45 (not sure Reagan, who pulled out of Lebanon, is the best person to cite in this context, though) and finally answers a much-anticipated question on immigration. She’s been suspect on that subject up until now; her brief answer here signals improvement, although I’d have liked to see Rush ask her squarely what she thinks about a path to citizenship given last year’s unfortunate pander to Univision.

And what do you want Allahpundit that Palin should say Univision interview? Palin should state "GUN ALL ILLEGALS DOWN AND SEND THEIR CORPSES TO THEIR RESPECTIVE COUNTRIES".

She's just stating that CONSERVATIVES understand the reasons why many people in other countries especially in ASIA are trying to come into America even through desperate measures (illegally). But she firmly stated that THE ILLEGALS SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED THE RULES AND THE SOLUTIONS FOR THE ILLEGALS NOW IS STILL "FOLLOW THE RULES".

And you call that PANDERING? Pandering is what Pelosi is ACTUALLY doing in California and Pawlenty ACTUALLY DOING IN MINNESOTA.

AND TAKE NOTE THAT PALIN DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO ELABORATE HER ANSWER TO RUSH. IF ALLOWED, SHE WOULD SAY EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID AT UNIVISION.

There is no inconsistencies there AP. Like you. You are SO CONSISTENT IN SNIPING PALIN FOR NOTHING.

As for Afghanistan, WEAK? That's 10 times more forceful than Obama's policies in Afghanistan. Issue? Every American knows why American soldiers are in Afghanistan.

But she firmly stated that THE ILLEGALS SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED THE RULES AND THE SOLUTIONS FOR THE ILLEGALS NOW IS STILL “FOLLOW THE RULES”.

And you call that PANDERING? Pandering is what Pelosi is ACTUALLY doing in California and Pawlenty ACTUALLY DOING IN MINNESOTA.

AND TAKE NOTE THAT PALIN DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO ELABORATE HER ANSWER TO RUSH. IF ALLOWED, SHE WOULD SAY EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID AT UNIVISION.

There is no inconsistencies there AP. Like you. You are SO CONSISTENT IN SNIPING PALIN FOR NOTHING.

As for Afghanistan, WEAK? That’s 10 times more forceful than Obama’s policies in Afghanistan. Issue? Every American knows why American soldiers are in Afghanistan.

Who says we can't? Why it's our own congress. Isn't that nice? We can give Brazil $10 Billion so George Soros gets a fast 4 to 1 return on the $2 Billion he put in back in March. But allow our economy to replace ALL of the middleeast imports, AT NO COST, and we can't have that. Good gosh golly some stockholders might make some money. They got it back A$$wards!

Loved the interview. She didn't say that America would never be ready for a third party, just now is not the time.
Let's take our party back and send the Democrats (and RINO's) scurrying for their rat holes.
BTW, Pole-Cat, virtue still has value where it counts; with the people. I have to believe that or I will just quit trying.

I finally figured out why they hate her so much. It’s so simple that it took me a while. She is something they can never be, She’s honest! She doesn’t make decisions based merely on what’s in her best interest, or what’s in the best interest of the party. She knows right from wrong and she does what’s right, because it’s the right thing to do. What a novel idea, at least it is now-a-days. They hate her on so many levels it’s hard to sort them all out. But Trig exposes it all. They hate her for not aborting him. She had a choice and she foolishly wasted it on doing the right thing! They hate her for bring this child into the world that will burden their precious ‘Socialist Health Care’ system. Doing the right thing though, she considers Trig her responsibility, not theirs, making this a twofer. The icing on all this is; they are so infuriated by something that wasn’t a deliberate attempt to infuriate them. So that infuriates them even more. Doing the right thing, with absolutely no regard for their feelings. How thoughtless! She’s an honest person in a world of politics where virtue has no value.

My friends solution:
Annex Mexico (including the Gulf oil platforms that we aren't allowed to build).
Maybe we really can have 57 states.

O'Reilly said he started his interview with Palin today, spent about an hour with her. He said it's policy heavy and he said she does not come across as a joke at all (said this to Alan Colmes, told him to watch it when it airs and he'd see---not that that will stop the left).

The are ways illegal aliens will stop coming and start deporting themselves :
1. No birthcertificates, SS# and automatic citizenship for anchor-babies of illegals
2. No foodstamps, free school, free housing and free medical for anchor-babies and their illegal parents

End this ridiculous corruption of the 14th Ammendment. If the parents are naturalized citizens or even permanent legal residents then I have no problem with their children getting citizenship. But illegals, temporary residents, tourists, students, embassy people, etc, their children should get the citizenship of their parent's country.

The two-party system is part of the problem, not the solution.

nukemhill on November 17, 2009 at 4:24 PM

You know, there's a reason why we've never really had a viable 3rd party in 220 years. The reason is the electoral college.

The only way you would ever have a multi-party system is if you ammend the constitution to allow for the election of a President who obtains a plurality rather than a majority of electoral votes. As it is however, the introduction of a major 3rd party almost guarantees that one of the two remaining parties will see its vote split with the easy election of the other party. The end result is that the 3rd party either quickly goes away as a national force (Perot in '92) or the 3rd party takes the place of one of the two major parties (Whigs -> Republicans).

Personally I don't want to see the constitution changed. Do you?

But the result is that we have two major parties which are composed of factions that settle their differences enough to co-exist. In a sense, the two parties represent "coalitions" found in parlimentary systems. Too few people really understand this. So, yes, the Republican party is not your perfect party - but all things considered, how could it be?

If you don't like that, I suggest you move to a country with a parlimentary form of government where you can belong to the party that exactly represents your views.
