Palin on Fort Hood: Hasan should have been “profiled”

A scoop from Matt Continetti, author of “The Persecution of Sarah Palin,” but one which ironically doesn’t provide her complete answer.
I asked about Palin’s upcoming visit to Ft. Hood. “We had planned on that before the tragedy struck,” she said. She commented on the trail of evidence linking the alleged Ft. Hood shooter, Maj. Nidal Hasan, to militant Islam. “There were such clear, obvious, massive warning signs that were missed,” she said. “This terrorist, even having business cards” that identified him as an “SoA” or soldier of Allah. Palin blamed a culture of political correctness and other decisions that “prevented — I’m going to say it — profiling” of someone with Hasan’s extremist ideology. “I say, profile away,” Palin said. Such political correctness, she continued, “could be our downfall.” If the upcoming investigations into the attack reveal bad decision-making on the part of senior officials, Palin continued, those officials ought to be fired.
The left’s going to hyperventilate over this thinking that she’s calling for Arab or Muslim soldiers generally to be profiled, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. She simply wants the military not to look the other way at jihadist sympathizers in the ranks for fear that it’ll be accused of profiling Muslim soldiers if it investigates. Not a controversial position — Palin-hater Christopher Hitchens quite agrees, and a new CBS poll finds fully 51 percent think the military had enough evidence that they should have prevented the shootings — but it’s only a matter of time before some media outlet twists this to accuse her of supporting racial or religious profiling. Anyone want to start a pool on which one does it first? Put me down for ten bucks on the AP.
Follow the link and you’ll see that she also disapproves of a civilian trial for KSM, which places her on the right side of another CBS poll out tonight. Tongue-in-cheek exit question via Tom Maguire: If terrorists who attack military targets get military trials and terrorists who attack civilian targets get civilian trials, do terrorists who attack schools get trials in juvenile court?

My money is on CBS twisting Palin’s words. They’re currently on a massive jihad against her to try to, surely, protect Ms No Ratings from the backlash which will be coming her way as Palin reemerges.

If most of the bad actors are X, then it is resonable to watch for signs from X that are an indication that X is going to act bad.

Get used to it, kiddies. This is who she is. She says things that are “incorrect,” invites people to jump on her, and BAM! puts her dramatically on the right side of a large majority on a controversial issue, and, so far, the left just can’t help underlining and emphasizing it.
Obamacare
Energy resources
War not pattycake with Islamist terrorists
She is the opposition – every other politician seems squishy and afraid of hurting someone’s feelings by saying what’s on everyone’s minds.

AP, you think the AP’s gonna get it first? MSNBC is stropping the razors right know.
I predict all three worst persons in the world to go to Sarah in the same show.

I hear many reasons why the Lefty media hate Palin. Here is the one 3 letter word that is behind the hate from liberals…GOD!. That is why they hate Palin, that is why they hated Bush, that is why they hated Cheney, because they all admit to a higher authority. There I said it.

I really like people who tell it like it is, leaves no doubt about where you stand with them.
Not like the PC left, all nice to your face and then stab you in the back.
I hope she finds out that the Ft.Hood murderer was on the Won’s Transition team

Hasan was beyond profiling. He was a flaming jihadi barely containing his death wish against the West.

He really was, someone on hot air last week posted a link to “Homeland Security Policy Institute”, I looked and sure enough on page 29 was the name Nidel Hasan.
I’m really suprised nobody has talked about it yet.

I agree. I really think that’s the biggest hang-up. They want human Gods, which also explain Obamamania.
I saw that in the election. There is such a thirst for something bigger than themselves, but they cannot bring themselves to admit it’s really a spiritual quest.

Someone steps into the fray where political leaders are squeamish invertebrates – afraid to insult or affront, yet finding themselves international doormats – and proclaims clear positions based upon strong traditional Judeo-Christian morals and Jeffersonian political ideals with courage and conviction.
Who does that sound like?
When inauguration day 2013 comes around, we will be in far more dire straights than we are today. And it will remind people of that especially cold crisp day in DC in January 1981 when the malaise of Jimmy Carter was wiped away.
History repeats itself. Human nature does not change. It matters not a wit that heroes are women rather than men. Thatcher was a leader much like Reagan. Both are much like Sarah.
Give her the time and the room to put her argument together.
She’ll be just fine.

See below….this is why Obama is stonewalling Congress on investigating what happened at Fort Hood.
Nidal Hasan on Obama’s Security Task Force…………..
Now we have a little insight into why Obama said to not jump to conclusions about Nidal Hasan and why Congressmen were not briefed before the press leak.
This murdering Muslim Terrorist who killed and wounded the soldiers and civilians at Ft Hood, Texas was an advisor to Obama’s Homeland Security team. Look on page 29 of the Homeland Security Institute link below.
I wonder how many more skeletons there are to come to of the cupboard. Who else is there in the government or its numerous advisors or Czars that will harm our country and citizens?
http://www.gwumc.edu/hspi/old/PTTF_ProceedingsReport_05.19.09.pdf
Go to page number 29, scroll down toward the bottom on the Left Column
He is listed under “THINKING ANEW- SECURITY PRIORITIES FOR THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION”, as Nidal Hasan, Uniformed Serv ices University School of Medicine (8TH DOWN ON LEFT COLUMN PAGE 29).
Please send this link to everybody on your email list. The world needs to know who Obama really is. This is very scary guys.

Grafted on November 17, 2009 at 10:09 PM
The problem is that to some on the left, any mention at all of ethnicity, other than Caucasian, or religion, other than Christian, is defacto “profiling” no matter how many other elements of the suspect are included in the description.

When did the word investigate become supplanted by the word profile?

Actually, it was a pretty nice day in 1981; I proudly marched in the Inaugural Parade… The COLD day was in 1985… They cancelled the parade…

But our media will eagerly and repeatedly “profile” our men and women in uniform serving at Gitmo as monsters who torture.
Steven Crowder get the word out at Gitmo.

In the South you hear people say “assbackwards” or “bassackwards” a lot. It is pretty common and I say it all the time. Didnt know it was common in other parts of the country, too.

That’s it in a nutshell, CK. She is the opposition right now. This is where the rest of the GOP falls down. As a group, they are not an effective opposition. The other GOP wannabes, if they come out from undeer their desks at all, will be far more “nuanced” in their remarks, so as to make it arguable that they are both for and against profiling terrorist candidates.
Tell you what, people who complained that Palin was only doing fluff interviews like Oprah got plenty of substance from Palin yesterday. Me, I liked what I heard and read, and I love her ‘like it or lump it, this is who I am’ approach. Very refreshing.
james23 on November 18, 2009 at 7:12 AM
I agree with her.
4shoes on November 18, 2009 at 8:24 AM
She did say she was for profiling in the interview. But I’m not sure she used the term correctly. Doing further investigation into Hasan wouldn’t be profiling, it would be following up on leads.
I’m not in favor of harassing soldiers who happen to be Muslim. I would be in favor of taking a long look a soldiers who are Muslim and telling people that all infidels shoudl be killed, though.

As a kid, I picked up “bassackwards,” “backasswards” and “assbackwards” from a friend who grew up in Colorado. He and his family used all 3 interchangeably. I guess I thought it as a Colorado thing.
BlueStateBilly on November 18, 2009 at 11:58 AM
Why does Palin hate your troops?
The incompetent military policies/pc culture that left Hasan uninvestigated are the same incompetent military policies/pc culture that existed under W.
The military dropped the ball and people died. But not because they didn’t want to offend Hasan. It was because they’re just incompetent.
