Japan expert to ABC: Yes, Obama’s bow made him look like an idiot

posted at 7:45 pm on November 15, 2009 by Allahpundit

So much of an idiot, in fact, that according to Tapper’s source, at least one Japanese paper isn’t running the photo out of embarrassment. This tool actually groveled himself into a minor international incident.

The good news for O-bots? It wasn’t unprecedented. Nixon evidently made a modest bow to Hirohito in the early 70s. The bad news?

“Obama’s handshake/forward lurch was so jarring and inappropriate it recalls Bush’s back-rub of Merkel.

“Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first year English teacher trying to impress with Karate Kid-level knowledge of Japanese customs.

“The bow as he performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms….The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part.

A senior White House official (read: Axelrod or Emanuel) assured Politico this morning that no Japanese observers “would say anything other than that he enhanced both the position and the status of the U.S., relative to Japan.” Consider that spin exploded, thanks to ABC.

And yet, having said that, I’m not convinced that the “groveling” explanation for the bow is necessarily the correct one. For one thing, his protocol office is famously run by imbeciles. They may very well have simply given him bum advice: “Be sure to hunch way the hell over and stare at the ground. They all do it that way.” For another thing, and somewhat notably, Japan isn’t a stop on The One’s world apology tour. It could have been, but he declined the opportunity to turn it into one. So why give the emperor the full Hopenchange treatment, then? Is it just … reflex at this point? Or is it actually a sign of how keenly aware Obama is of the messianic hype that follows him around the world? Maybe he figured that, as the newly anointed global Jesus, he’d better go out of his way to show deference to Japan’s divine ruler lest it seem like he was “pulling rank.” Think of it as “Superman II,” if the main characters had landed on Earth convinced that they had to “rebuild Krypton’s relationships” with the universe. In that case, you don’t kneel before Zod; Zod kneels before you.

My very first thought when Obama bowed was that the Japanese probably saw it as an embarassment and our president as a joke.

The lefy spin would be very funny if it wasn’t so sad.

Bottom line: With Obama advisors like this, who needs enemies.

Obama to Rahm & Axelrod: I want to redo all those background checks on those people who advised me to bow. Ther has to be mole, right? I know that I said that I wanted this visit to be historical but, come on! Now all of America is going to know that I’m an idiot. Where is my teleprompter, it will know what to say, er, do.

Of course he does. That dishonest charlatan argued in vain that Obama did not bow to the Saudi King several months back and pushed the left wing spin that he was just leaning over because of the height difference (lol!); then he proceeded to argue that Bush, by lowering his head to receive a medal, had also bowed to the King.

Now im not an obama / democrat / liberal fan
by any means ..
As a matter of fact i consider all of them either
treasonist bastards or worse actually working with our enemies against american citizens..

But But But..

In this one case i will cut the president some slack here
I mean yes (it made him look weak)
and in asian culture bowing lower is a sign of
subservience or respect (if the person) who is bowing
is the child or relative or in a subservient position
like an employee for example..

Yes i have been around asians for far too long..

But when obama did this i know in his mind he actually thinks he is similar to the one in the matrix.

So i really doubt he did this out of either a sense of honor or a sense of subserviance since obama and the democrats don’t beleive in any of these concepts.

No ..
I think the writer of the article is correct..
Obama in his rush to hire every tax cheat, huskster, lier, gambler, communist and other ilk,
Has so populated the state department with BOOBS
that these absolute friggin MORONS
were the same ones who provided obama with a dvd set to give

to the QUEEN OF ENGLAND…
While she gave obama a pen set i believe which the box was
made from the timber of the ship we rescued..

These idiots (and obamas rush to hire them)
proves to me that no one in obamas cabinet has a damned clue as too what in the hell they are doing….

So on this i cut him some slack..
Now he better go back to the state department and the other advisors he has and he better
FIRE ALL OF THEM…

Here is a clip from an Indian comedy show

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wso1rt6T7OI
The comedian asked the Nobel Prize committee to explain why he was not awarded a Nobel Prize because
he too is not white
he is not Bush and
he too has brought a message of hope to the internet industry
The Nobel comm replies that they didn’t give him a nobel prize because :
1. he can’t kill a fly in one shot
2. he doesn’t have huge breasts like obama
3. he doesn’t look cool smoking a cigarette
4. he can’t run faster than a dog
and the comedian concedes
In another clip, the comedian is interrupted by Obama’s hologram-like image, selling health insurance like a door-to-door salesman
interesting after 1:55
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cNSnhwCuM0
Obama ends up making a joke about Bush just to sell his health policy:
Q . What is the difference between me (Obama) and George Bush ?
A. He was George Bush and I’m just beating around the bush

and then calling the comedian a jackass because he didn’t buy the policy

macncheez on November 16, 2009 at 2:05 AM

The whole trainwreck is a microcosim of this wing-it-on-the-fly Presidency.

Probably placed a quick call to Pat Morita for a last minute debrief.

Obama likely rememberd watching Richard Chamberlin in Shogun while smoking pot with Japanese American classmates in Hawaii and felt he had the whole Japanese culture and bow thing down.

R Square on November 16, 2009 at 2:33 AM

It’s astonishing and breathtaking, really. These Obama’s have hired more assistants, more advisers, more czars than we’ve ever witnessed before. Yet, he falls on his face, whether it be inappropriate gifts, the “re-set” button episode, his manufactured history speeches, or just a simple greeting to a world leader. It is always the same: dunderheaded.

A person off the street (yeah, I know, he’s pretty much just off the street) would have had more successes just by chance alone.

galvestonian on November 16, 2009 at 5:19 AM

Dear rubes:

We do hope you’ve been enjoying your crow of triumph from the losers’ section, up in the third balcony, over our– dare we say– kingly president, genuflecting to the emperor of Japan.

We would like to remind you that Japan’s very continued existence as an independent state (as opposed to a wholly owned subsidiary of China, or even humble-but-nuclearized North Korea, for that matter) depends upon our good will. So if the president chooses to lick the sole of the Japanese emperor’s foot, or kiss his ring, or even roll on the ground and chatter in tongues while his eyes roll up in his head– well, that’s his prerogative, and there’s nothing the embarrassed Japanese can do about it.

Our president takes his cue from Henry V, whom Shakespeare gives the following line, spoken to his French princess when confronting the outraged morals of the defeated French gentry over a similar breach in protocol:

“Dear Kate, you and I cannot be confined within the weak list of a country’s fashion: we are the makers of manners, Kate.” And so is our president. No matter the long history of American presidents refusing to bow to foreign potentates. If President Obama does it: well, consider the rules of decorum officially changed for the rest of us.

Get used to it, fellow “citizens” (for now) up in the nosebleed section of our national discourse. And don’t forget to buy the T-shirt on the way out.

Very sincerely, Your Media Betters

I predict that Obama will call a meeting of all of our top scientists, and engineers, to all come together and try to explain, or develop a theory. Like Kennedy launching the space program, Obama will begin to develop a new plan to answer these very difficult questions.
These are the questions, basically the same:
How do you un-screw something that has gone wrong.
Can you “un-f’in it up”?
Once done can you “un-f***k it?
He needs a clear understanding of how to do this…and our next president needs to know these answers.
