Video: Glenn Beck devotes entire show to black conservatives

posted at 9:03 pm on November 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

A brilliant idea, although I hope the participants know that they’re now fair game for “progressive” blackface photoshops mocking them as traitors to their race. The Clinton coalition is fracturing, thanks to The One’s statism on steroids; every white surbanbite vote that’s lost will have to be made up with a minority vote, which means the volume on the demagoguery will have to be turned up that much higher. You’re a brave man, Charles Payne.

You can watch the entire episode at Fox News. Enjoy.

I wouldn’t claim that the system is perfect, but provides a service to all. Those who opt out do so willingly to provide their children with the education they seem fit and/or can afford.

Barry, San Fran Nan, and the pathetic MSM will find a way to denounce all the participants on Beck’s show as black astroturf.

Wasn’t this topic already covered in CNN’s Black in America? Oh it wasn’t? Good job Glenn.

They are leaders. Leaders have no fear when they now the path they lead is right.
Steel better be taking notes.

He should hit us brownies up too. My Mexican family and friends are about 1/2 conservative. In Tucson no less, a pretty liberal small city.

THANK YOU, Glenn Beck!!!

It is so refreshing to know these great Americans, who happen to have darker skin than myself, understand what is going on within our Government!

I didn’t see the program but the clip said it all! Wow!
And, did I say….WOW???

Spread the word folks! We are all AMERICANS!

gmbdds on November 13, 2009 at 11:09 PM

Here’s a little something to chew on:

As I have pointed out before, the primary point about Beck and Limbaugh is that they’re Midwesterners. The rest of the country, or at least those on the coast, regularly miss this most salient point. The sputtering in disbelief regularly expressed by these guys is grounded in the simple fact that people from their background are left dumbfounded by the apparent need by the “elite” to continue to discuss issues like the existence of gravity. “WTF” could have been coined for the experience of Midwesterners during the last 40 years.

I was born in Illinois in 1945, and left in 1962. Despite the mess I was born into, I was surrounded by common sense on the playground, in church and in school. Believe it or don’t, nobody knew who was Jewish, or Polish or Greek or whatever. The only thing that identified Catholics was that they went to different schools than the rest of us – but they played sports just like we did, on the same playgrounds, and were members of the same Boy Scout troops.

With the exception of my Grandmother, I categorically never got the impression from anybody that Black people were any different than we were – and she was regarded even by her siblings as an embarrassment. Imagine a culture where people’s differences were less important than their similarities, and one where we were all striving for the same thing.

Beck oughta be compared to Thomas Paine – Common Sense. The great thing is that his unquestioned view of the world continues to produce shows like this one, where the goal is commonality instead of diversity.

Is this a great country, or what?

warbaby on November 13, 2009 at 11:10 PM

primary point about Beck and Limbaugh is that they’re Midwesterners.

Beck is from Washington State.

entropent on November 13, 2009 at 11:15 PM

I saw the show and it was fantastic. Dems and Reps all arguing it out. Who else but Beck would have this show, or his other Friday show with medical doctors, pro and con Obamacare?

Yes, sometimes he goes overboard, but he is doing a great job in reporting and discussing. The rest of the media seems like stale bread in comparison.

PattyJ on November 13, 2009 at 11:18 PM

warbaby on November 13, 2009 at 11:10 PM

That’s a great post, warbaby.

I never knew there was such a thing as racism until I saw it repeatedly mentioned by talking heads on TV. I miss those naive days.

I am sure that a certain amount of racism still exists, and that it’s harsh, but the fact of the matter, thankfully, is that it has become less common as we have grown up as a people (that includes the world; not just the U.S.).

Here, in the Middle-of-Nowhere VA., we haven’t got time for that shit. We’re too busy trying to survive and make another dime or two.

We are all in the same boat, and we need a competent captain. The rest is extraneous bullshit, as far as our everyday lives are concerned.

hillbillyjim on November 13, 2009 at 11:25 PM

I would not be opposed. Would you honestly believe that would happen? Would the theory of evolution be taught, or would creationism be practiced and preached?

disillusioned on November 13, 2009 at 10:32 PM

First, whether I think it would happen or not doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen. To clarify, many religious institutions may actually have this responsibility to aid and/or educate those around them (the poor in particular).

Secondly, I don’t understand why the creationism/ID/evolutionism part of the science courses to be offered is often such a sticking point. I don’t see why origins must be discussed at all. If the goal of a science class is to teach children about what may have happened a large time ago, then perhaps origins should be considered. That said, most students should have a basic understanding of science so they can understand the physical phenomena that occur around them daily.

MeatHeadinCA on November 13, 2009 at 11:27 PM

Nothing more moving and inspiring than a human being intellectually honest and standing in their own personal truth. When we come into that place in accepting who we are and what we stand for, there’s no stopping us. My sister and I called each other FIVE TIMES during this Beck program to gush about how important this show was.

disillusioned on November 13, 2009 at 11:45 PM

Yes, without as many if any choices.

This is social organizing is aggressive to the individual parent. I realize that we live in an imperfect world, but choice should be something we try to advocate instead of encouraging the current status quo for those that may not have some of the financial support of those that can chose.

MeatHeadinCA on November 13, 2009 at 11:55 PM

I wouldn’t advocate anything but choice for education. I find it unrealistic to believe that private education is feasible without public education for the poor. Or maybe your advocating a mandatory home schooling program to supplement private education?

TugboatPhil on November 14, 2009 at 12:16 AM

Had a couple of friends who were part of the group. They said it was a wild time. They didn’t get a chance to talk on air. But they are both incredible conservative bloggers.

This is a little shout out we did for them:

http://thespeechatimeforchoosing.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/glenn-beck%E2%80%99s-friday-the-13th-nightmare-for-liberals-across-america-beck-hosts-prominent-black-conservatives/

Both blogs are worth reading.

Adrienne actually traveled to Alaska, from New York, this summer. She was at Sarah’s final speech. Fox News interviewed her then.

gary4205 on November 14, 2009 at 12:23 AM

Wow – I missed Beck today but will watch it tomorrow, if for no other reason than to hear Bishop Harry Jackson speak. I’ve heard him before, and recall how disappointed I was that I live a couple hundred miles away from his church – he’s that engaging.

The pastor’s messages transcend all races. He MAKES you colorblind through his words and his actions. The country could use more men like him.

NumberTwo on November 14, 2009 at 12:28 AM

All the cries of racism, when the true racism is coming from black people, on the left.

We’re Americans first, and as soon as we ALL realize that, and the fact that we’re allowed to have different views, ideas, and opinions, as individuals, rather than as white, black, hispanic, asian etc…the better off we’ll all be.

There are white conservatives, and white liberals. Why can’t blacks accept the same? It’s silly to call one a traitor to their race. In the end, we’re all here together…and God doesn’t care what party you belong to. He cares about how you handle yourself, when it comes to diversity, tolerance, and respect for your fellow man.

I admire the guests on the show. Charles Payne is always great. He’d make a better Secretary of the Treasury over Timmy. I hope the guests speak out against any negative treatment that may come their way. There seems to be that glaring double standard. If a conservative “blackfaced” anyone, all hell is broken loose. Hats off to all who appeared & I hope their ranks will grow in the future.

Lest we forget, liberals are the most open-minded people until you don’t believe what they believe.

ProudPalinFan on November 14, 2009 at 1:14 AM

It should be against Federal law to ask anyone their race.
The concept of Race is 19th Century. Anthropologists have given up on categorization by Race. The Government is promoting racism. The Business of Race has protected interest in seeing our society divided. Dividing the people by race is cruel. I don’t have to tell you about redistribution of wealth. The stereotypes on each side, about others and about them selfs. People live up to their stereotypes. There has been several great studies on this. The Education system is big promoter of Race and stereotype.
We need to get to a color blind society.

Sorry, I missed this comment from the previous postings. The highlighted text is what creationism/ID doesn’t provide. You obviously either have your mind made up to be stubbornly against religion or you do not understand the concept that is Intelligent Design.

How does the idea that the Big Bang (har!) wasn’t a cosmic accident inhibit learning?

Don’t be stupid; open your mind.

hillbillyjim on November 14, 2009 at 3:32 AM

I just watched the first 3 parts of the show (was there a 4th? couldn’t find it) and I really appreciate that Beck did this.

I am an Hispanic conservative and over the past year I’ve had people look at me in utter shock, disbelief, and disgust (I sensed) when I revealed how I lean politically… the ironic thing was that I was essentially accused of not being an authentic Hispanic by WHITE LIBERALS. Not other Hispanics, but Whites. Go figure. Way to go Beck!

Here, try this one. My usual source, Glenn Beck Daily Clips has been suspended by YouTube. I followed Allah’s link to Fox, but it doesn’t look to me like it’s actually the whole show available (though it’s more of it than they normally offer). If it doesn’t add up to around 40 minutes, it ain’t the whole show, so thanks to the YouTubers who are making it available.

Agam on November 14, 2009 at 3:35 AM

I watched this show today. It was FABULOUS. A lot of my favorite conservatives were on this show. That wonderful speaker from Project 21 that just knocked it out of the part in DC during her speech on 9/12 was on the show. She was also on Hannity this week.

Glenn Beck is about one of the coolest guys on TV. He relates to everyone and truly treats everyone the same. He exemplifies what we all need to be in our country (regarding how we treat everyone with grace and dignity).

It was just an overall uplifting show. I bet heads are exploding over on the lib blogs.

I’ve always liked Charles Payne, and have been hoping (and suggesting via e-mails to them) that Fox would give him his own business show. I’ve noticed that he has been guest-hosting some of the shows lately, so I hope that means Fox is preparing him for a show of his own.

Have to admit, though, that I was very disappointed when I heard Charles Payne admit that he voted for Obama . . . because Obama is black. I understand it, but I’m still disappointed.

Missed the show but will catch the repeat over the the weekend. There’s something very illuminating about African-American conservatives I always find captivating. There is a strength in character that can’t be doubted, and they lack the anger and bitterness present in many of their Liberal counterparts. (For the record, there are some very angry white Liberals, too).

Someone mentioned upthread about a future show showcasing Latino conservatives–great idea. I’m sure Glenn is on it. I also hope he does a part II with our AA comrades. Can’t wait to see it. Good heads up, AP.

Eric Holder is a coward, a racist and a joker. We need Janet Reno.

Baldilocks,

I’m a most black “foreign born Kenyans” with docs since I was born under the same conditions. Actually, I’m a native born American.
baldilocks on November 13, 2009 at 10:44 PM

Out of curiosity, do you believe that you would be eligible to be President under the requirements of Article II Section I, specifically the Natural Born Citizen requirement?

singer on November 14, 2009 at 9:14 AM

I watched it and it still baffles me how many of those conservative blacks voted for Obama because he “had a better vision” or “he was for change”

All I could think when they said that was “What vision?!” he didn’t promise any specific policies during his campaign..nothing! he only said it would be different.

They voted for a ghost. ugh

hopeychangey politics.

I just want to say that Charles Payne is the best; been watching the guy for a long time and he’s my favorite business commentator on television.

Have to admit, though, that I was very disappointed when I heard Charles Payne admit that he voted for Obama . . . because Obama is black. I understand it, but I’m still disappointed.

AZCoyote on November 14, 2009 at 7:01 AM

I know, it sucks. I’m disappointed as well, but I understand it also. Took me a while to fully see it, but when I really think about the Black history/ studies classes I took in college and how several times I cried because of what I fully came to see their American ancestors went through pre-civil rights movement and even beyond, it puts it all into perspective.

What I’m saying is, I can understand the 95% black vote Obama drew…and if I was African-American, I’m almost 100% certain I’d of pulled the lever for Barack Obama seeing his name next to John McCain’s on the presidential ballot and sensing the gravity of the moment–conservative or not. It’s deep stuff.

RepubChica on November 14, 2009 at 9:26 AM

Plantation politics.

I’d love to see this woman and others in the audience debate POTUS without TOTUS, as well as Michelle O.

My only complaint is that I’m fed up with Beck’s moral equivalency shtick, where Republicans are just as bad as Democrats, and where he labels Republicans “Progressives”.

A few months after Hurricane Katrina as I was traveling in Atlanta, I stopped at a motel. The African American (no, American) woman at the desk told me I wouldn’t want to stay at her motel. Shocked and surprised, I asked why she would say that. She told me that the Katrina refugees were still there and they were gross. Loud, having sex in the lobby, starting fights, demanding services (of course, they were on the Federal Govt dime.) She had to call the police frequently. I’ll always remember that encounter — it was sort of an opposite-OJ-acquittal moment. A hardworking, law-abiding black woman lamenting about irresponsibility and grossness of those of her own race. We discovered we were much more like each other than those particular refugees from New Orleans. The content of character was more important than the color of skin. Hmmm…where have I heard that before?

Christian Conservative on November 14, 2009 at 9:27 AM

I checked out Memeorandum, expecting to see a lot of discussion on the show.

Crickets.

The Democrats have done incredible harm to modern blacks.
It’s time for them to break the bonds of dependency that the Democrats have intentionally forged for them in order to enslave them to the party.

justltl on November 13, 2009 at 9:32 PM

Right on target. The blacks in this country apparently don’t have the right to think for themselves, as far as the Democrats are concerned.

To hell with the hearts and minds of the Arab street – we need to free the hearts and minds of the captive blacks (and other “identity” blocks) in this country. Most of them NEVER hear what was expressed on this show, and they are poorer for it.

Show every segment possible.

MadisonConservative on November 13, 2009 at 9:22 PM

Yes. Time for the veritable Conservative Rainbow to come out! (No apologies to Jesse Jackson or the LGBT community).

misslizzi on November 14, 2009 at 10:15 AM

The feminists?
They’re all Libs. Sorry.
David2.0 on November 13, 2009 at 10:16 PM

Not all of them. Camille Paglia (who rebels against the conventional feminist establishment), Tammy Bruce, and Sarah Palin come immediately to mind.

Barry, San Fran Nan, and the pathetic MSM will find a way to denounce all the participants on Beck’s show as black astroturf afro-turf.

FIFY; you can thank me later.

Yeah, Paglia’s an independent thinker, in a category of her own. And that’s one of the reasons why I like her, even if I don’t agree with her 50% of the time.

misslizzi on November 14, 2009 at 10:24 AM

Very creative idea and a good show to boot. Praise to Glen and the participants in that show.

jeanie on November 14, 2009 at 10:36 AM

Incredible.
The TRUTH will set you free. No doubt.
I hope he continues with this show. An entire week of this would be good.
Thank You Glenn Beck and all who participated in speaking honestly.

He really needs to do it with hispanics, too. Show every segment possible.

MadisonConservative on November 13, 2009 at 9:22 PM
I’m game! I soooo wanna clear some misinformation out there! Not EVERY Hispanic takes advantage of the system. That ticks me off b/c of my face and skin, I am judged as equal or worse, racism.

ProudPalinFan on November 14, 2009 at 1:14 AM

I hope someone is suggesting this directly to Beck. Because I would like to see a discussion of Border issues by conservative Hispanics.

I am often torn by the amnesty issue.

When Reagan did it I was all for it. We had a farm then and signed papers for people who had worked for us. But I know at least one instance where my husband signed for someone he really wasn’t sure about but he was big and menacing and he felt intimidated…

The reason we couldn’t be sure was that they often worked in groups and got paid as a group…back then. So there wasn’t a record of individuals. The government labor office in town would send them out to us and it was all done with the permission of the labor office.

This has been a weird way of doing things for a long, long time…. That was back in the eighties.
