Radar: More Carrie Prejean videos?

posted at 9:33 pm on November 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

Such is the level of indignation on the right at the left’s nastiness towards her and those who might abet it that I got yelled at by a friend last night for posting this. Now Radar gives us something new, which isn’t the only claim out there that she’s made more than one “biggest mistake of my life.” I understand the defensiveness on her behalf — search the archives and you’ll see that I’ve written plenty in her favor — but I also get Ace’s exasperation:

My problem, instead, is that she has enlisted supporters, such as myself, to support her in her legal/PR campaign, on the theory that the California pageant had nothing legitimate to boot her out on, and that only anti-Christian animus could explain their behavior, when in fact… well, first the photos, which were racy, but I excused and defended. And then, well, the masturbation tape, which I kept quiet about.

And now… the other seven masturbation tapes…

She knew all this stuff was out there, she knew it was coming out, etc., and yet I and many of her supporters have been impressed into duty as her defenders through deception.

Because it wasn’t ever true that there was no reason, save anti-Christian animus, to kick her out of the pageant organization. A masturbation tape is, well. I’m not really offended by it but other pageant-hopefuls have gotten the boot for the same thing, and even a lot less.

So what do I feel about her? I feel she chumped me in order to advance her own legal interests…

Whether she has anything more interesting to say is up to her. But the Perez Hilton/pageant stuff? I really don’t care to hear how unfair it all was anymore. It was unfair, and a book deal was gotten out of that; that’s enough. A book deal can bandage up a lot of wounds.

I’m wondering if he’s in the minority on that or if sentiment is spreading that her defenders, in some way, have been had. I agree with him (and said so yesterday) that the left’s “hypocrisy” charge is overblown, for the simple reason that Christians don’t claim to be perfect. On the contrary, it’s the fact that they’re imperfect and prone to “stray from the path,” as we all are, that draws them towards redemption in the faith. There does, however, come a point where you stray so far from the path or so frequently that your commitment to it comes into question. For example, an atheist in a foxhole might be forgiven for saying a prayer in a moment of panic, while he’s being shot at. An atheist who prays any time he’s in a tough spot … simply ain’t much of an atheist. Has CP reached that point (yet) in Christian/conservative opinion or is her line of credit essentially limitless”?

Gotta love the forgiveness of the religious right. As far as I can tell CP has never passed herself off as some sort of policy wonk. She just answered a question honestly, and now must be destroyed for some reason, and it appears some think the Left needs help getting that done.

While CP obviously made some poor decisions as TEENAGER (like no one else ever did), the lessson here probably is, don’t get too excited about someone until they actually do something real. That way a people won’t be so demoralized when that person is found out to have flaws as well.

Never been completely on-board with this Prejean thing.

First, she’s obviously poorly vetted with regard to her personal history.

I don’t know if the pageant had knowledge of all of this, regardless and in hindsight, they seem to have made the right call on her.

Last, she displays a thin skin-ness (Larry King, et al) that makes me question her. I’m no fan of Larry but he wasn’t doing out or sorts in asking her about the settlement and she did literally “melt down” in response.

I like Hannity but I believe one of his faults is in the poor choices he makes for people to champion. His research and discretion should be just a bit better…….

JoeinTX on November 14, 2009 at 1:33 AM

Ya know, I’ve read the Bible, and I can’t find where it claims masturbation to be specifically sinful. In fact, I can’t really see how the videos are somehow unChristian.

If ya’ll religious types (I personally am an atheist) could help me out, I’d appreciate it. HOWEVER. . .

Please no 1st Corinthians 6:12, if these were for her boyfriend then the issue isn’t masturbation. So that one doesn’t count.

Likewise Matthew 5:27 and 28, those are about adultery, not masturbation.

So where is it, exactly, where the Bible is anti-masturbation and hence Christianity.

Catholic dogma or edicts don’t count either, as that’s Catholicism, not Christianity (not saying Catholicism isn’t Christianity, it’s just a stricter form with another set of non-Christian-yet-still-religious rules.

I’m serious. I’d sincerely like to know where these verses are if at all.

Fed45 on November 14, 2009 at 2:18 AM

I remain firmly in her corner. What in the hell do these tapes have to do with anything? She can’t masturbate for a boyfriend or pose for modeling pics because she’s against gay marriage? Let’s not forget the reason she was booted out of the pageant. It had nothing to do with tapes or pictures, it was because they didn’t like her politics or her religion.

The tapes and the pics only came out after the fact once the pageant was sued. Obviously, they bought the materials off a disgruntled old boyfriend and used them as a weapon to get her to drop the case. The left wing media is buying everything else the cowardly boyfriend has so they can publicly humiliate and destroy her with it.

They want the conservatives in her corner to turn on her — that’s the whole idea. I have no intention of playing that game. I could care less if she made tapes. As a 28 year old I have plenty of tapes of girlfriends from college, but I would never for any amount of money give them up. I think it’s a sleazy thing to do not to mention seriously bad Karma.

Onan was using the rhythm method with a women who was legally obligated sleep with. Not has does that have nothing to do with masturbation, it shows that the one method of birth control advocated by the RCC in an unfavorable light. Frankly, I think it has a lot more to do with lying and failing to do ones duty that anything sexual.

Since you know the Bible so well, isn’t the real question why don’t you care at all?

Genesis 38: 9-10

Fed45 on November 14, 2009 at 2:16 AM

FOUL! Out of context. Gen 38:8 shows why this isn’t about masturbation.

Gen 38:8 – “Unite with your brother’s widow, in fulfillment of your duty as brother-in-law, and thus preserve your brother’s line.”

The keys in 9 and the reason for the smiting highlighted. . . “Onan, however, knew that the descendants would not be counted as his; so whenever he had relations with his brother’s widow, he wasted his seed on the ground, to avoid contributing offspring for his brother.”

Not about masturbation. . . in fact, nothing even close to masturbation is mentioned.

Or are wet dreams grounds for a smiting in Christianity?

Jason, Have you read the story of the Zax?

“The Zax” is a lesson about the importance of compromise. In the story a North-going Zax and a South-going Zax meet face to face in the Prairie of Prax.

Because they refuse to move east, west, or any direction except their respective headings, the two Zax become stuck, as they refuse to move around each other. The Zax stand so long that eventually a highway overpass is built around them, and the story ends with the Zax still standing there.

Oh, come on. You know that’s not true. There are many non-Abrahamic cultures that find homosexual behavior abnormal and perhaps even disgusting.

MeatHeadinCA on November 13, 2009 at 11:41 PM

That’s a fair point, but in our culture the Biblical prohibition is behind the social movement to marginalize homosexuals. I definitely got out of hand with the hyperbole, though. Point is, once you take the ancient Abrahamic tradition out of the picture, there’s no objective reason to treat homosexuals like their feelings aren’t real. Even if you can’t ever accept homosexuality, why make it impossible for everybody else to accept it? At least if gays can get married everybody can choose for themselves.

RightOFLeft on November 14, 2009 at 2:51 AM

I’m a Christian who would agree with you that people who oppose gay marriage are practicing a form of bigotry for the reasons you state. If straights can get married at the Justice of the Peace, there is no good argument to forbid gay people from being able to do so either. Of course, not having a good argument doesn’t stop a lot of people from trying to force others to live according to their beliefs.

That isn’t the real issue at hand here though, is it? CP gave her honest, politically-incorrect opinion in a harmless manner, and has been put through the wringer for it. It’s offensively ridiculous what’s been done to her. Sure, she is painfully immature and has some psychological issues, but she doesn’t deserve to be abused because of that. I find the people who tolerate, enable, or participate in the attacks on her to be sicker than she is.

leftnomore on November 14, 2009 at 4:10 AM

As I recall, Carrie Prejean made the mistake of uttering a perfectly ordinary belief regarding marriage, one still held by somewhat over 50% of the rest of country, in what is effectively a suburb of Hollyweird.
That, of course, is a heresy and a sin worse than witchcraft in that particular land, and Perez Hilton went ballistic apeshit over her opinion.
I don’t see how that particular opinion on marriage has anything to do with her being either a saint or a moral examplar in any other aspect of her life. After all, there are plenty of other people who conduct themselves in ways I despise who occasionally hold opinions I agree with.
But I also fail to see how the glitterati who are still trying to burn her at the stake are qualified in any way to pronounce on the morality of anything or anyone else.
Enough already.

I only see headlines of most things, but it makes me sad inside. Levi, Jon, Carrie, Levi, Rush, Levi, (some celeb got a new hairdo), (some celeb lost 4.5 pounds), Levi, Palin is evil, Jon, Kate, Carrie, Palin is dumb, (some celeb…)

Then I read that no one is using libraries. Well, no friggin kidding. Fill libraries with tabloids, tell-all books and biographies of little importance and they’ll be booming.

Our only hope going forward is that the brainless morons stay home on election days. Pretty sad, isn’t it?

So 7 ‘sex tapes’ that feature nobody but Carrie Prejean.

Gee…you would think that a beautiful young woman that is a conestant in a beauty pageants and probably models a bit might actually dabble in some ‘artistic’ video shoots?

…and what would that have to do with her stance on gay marriage?

Oh – nothing of course.

A beautiful young model that is a Christian must be smeared as having multiple ‘sex tapes’ out there – although there is no actual sex on any of those tapes. Just a beautiful young woman.

If this is a lefty who approves of gay marriage these are beautiful works of art to be admired by a keen artistic eye.

If it was a lefty and FOX News had footage of a 17 year old naked they would be charged with possession of child pornography.

This is the extremes of bias we see in today’s media – and there is Allah front and center banging the drum on a Carrie Prejean fall from grace.

Nice work, you pathetic piece of $#!t Allah.

Likewise Matthew 5:27 and 28, those are about adultery, not masturbation.

Jason Coleman on November 14, 2009 at 1:51 AM

Matthew 5:27-30 is about lust. Jesus redefines the capital crime of adultery — it was punishable by death (Lev. 20:10, Deut. 22:22-24) — to include lust and not just the physical act of sex with someone else’s spouse.

For the Christian then, lust is the legal equivalent of adultery and worthy of the death penalty.

The Bible does not, to the best of my knowledge, single out the act of a woman bringing herself to orgasm as a sin per se. If you can get yourself off without lust, you are a Jedi grandmaster of mind control — and I’m highly skeptical of the number of people ever who could pull it off every single time.

In any case, it doesn’t mean it’s okay to make porn videos.

Harpazo on November 14, 2009 at 7:36 AM

How dare the left call these ‘self stimulation’ tapes “sex tapes”? After all the lessons we learned from them during the Bill and Monica show… Well, is it sex or is it just a really awesome kiss?
-
All goofiness aside, who cares about some solo sex tapes? Her 15 minutes have been stretched because of the nasty double standard against free speech that has come to exist in this country the over past decade or so, and how that was used so publicly to smack her down. I support her as much today as I did the day before this tape stuff came out.
-
Because I never did put her on a pedestal. She is not even the issue really… People being destroyed because they disagree with the new free-for-all agenda is the problem.
-
No one is perfect. Stop excepting the premise. So what, and stay in the real fight.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. The Bible doesn’t say that you can’t masturbate, it just says that you can’t lust while doing it. So like Harpazo said, if you can get off without thinking about anyone else, you’re good. However, I don’t see that happening. And while I haven’t read all the CP articles, if she was making these tapes for her boyfriend, I’m sure there was some other things they were up to as well…

The Bible also says not to cause another believer to fall into sin and I’m pretty sure sending your boyfriend softcore porn falls into that category.

I haven’t made up my mind yet until I see the Masturbation Videos. I want to see if she says in the Video that it’s okay for gay marriage, then she is a hypocrite and lied at pageant.
Seriously one has nothing to do with the other, unless it’s about Free Speech. She can make all the Masturbation Videos, and say what her opinion of gay marriage is, and not be subjected to being destroyed at the age of 22.
My opinion on gay marriage is that it is a States Rights Issue. Federal Law should not make any laws regarding gay marriage. If two men get married in a state that allows it, then bless them, and recognize it in the rest of the States, which is in line with the Constitution. In fact you should not be forced to answer on any form male, or female. By not answering you are saying ether; both, or do not want to answer You should not be discriminated based on your answer, or no answer. It’s a matter of privacy. Some people are both male and female. I don’t like labels or self identifiers such as sexual preference, race, or profession. Like a introduction like; “Hi, my name is Bob, and I’m Gay”, or “Hi, my name is Joe, and I’m a plumber”. Race identifiers only divide us, and make victims of some, while punishing others, who did no harm. Maybe we should all submit our DNA, and let the government sort it all out, and categorize us all into voting blocks; I hope not in my life time. It’s a privacy and free speech issue. God Help US!!!

Ed Laskie on November 14, 2009 at 9:09 AM

Whether or not it’s justified or fair, she’s being used as an example of right-wing hypocrisy by the left. She needs to go away until she at least gets to the ripe old age of 23.

ncborn on November 14, 2009 at 9:15 AM

This girl is a manipulative liar. Those tapes were supposed to have been made when she was 20 not 17. She asked the ex to lie about it, making him guilty of having child porn if he went along with it. She’s just another holy roller who is no better than anyone else. Just another attention seeker like balloon boy daddy.

She wore her religion on her sleeve and has been making money off of it. That, the last time I knew was taking the Lord’s name in vain. She belongs to one of those televangelist churches and is a brainwashed idiot. I’m a Catholic and against gay marriage. I wouldn’t lose an election over the issue though, Marxism is far more dangerous. In her religion, you just have to profess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, and you are automatically “saved”. In my religion, you have to work in walking in Christ’s shoes(sandals) everyday, and at the end God makes the final call if you’ve been a true believer or not. I don’t see how she is one of the saved at the age of 21 or whatever she is, she has a whole lifetime of sin in front of her…Her 15 minutes are almost up. I credit her with speaking her mind at her pageant, but feel she is using all that for personal fame and fortune. She deserves all the trashing she gets for being manipulative and dishonest….

For the Christian then, lust is the legal equivalent of adultery and worthy of the death penalty.

I see you have reading comprehension problems. The passage you quote from Matthew isn’t about all lust; it’s about adulterous, not non-adulterous lust, committed in the heart. It’s plain as day I’m right because those are exactly the words used there.

Do you undertand the concepts of imagination, fantasy, and intent? Jesus didn’t say, “If you fantasize about having sex with someone, whether that imaginary sex involves adultery or not, but have no honest, physical intent to carry out your fantasy under any conconceivable circumstance, you are still committing adultery in your heart”, I’d agree with you that Jesus would have been condeming imaginary acts and thus revealed Himself to be a Thought Policeman. Somehow, such a take doesn’t appear to jibe with what words He chose to express His point though, does it?

The Bible does not, to the best of my knowledge, single out the act of a woman bringing herself to orgasm as a sin per se. If you can get yourself off without lust, you are a Jedi grandmaster of mind control — and I’m highly skeptical of the number of people ever who could pull it off every single time.

In any case, it doesn’t mean it’s okay to make porn videos.

Harpazo on November 14, 2009 at 7:36 AM

All she did was give a simple answer that she supports traditional marriages between a man & a woman. Ironically, thats the same answer Hillary & Obama gave. But since she is a conservaive Christian, the left & media will do whatever they can to destroy her just as they tried to do to Joe the Plumber or Sarah Palin. I guarantee every single one of us has something in our past or our families past the left could use to try and embarrass or smear us. Their goal is to silence all opposition and they will use whatever means they can to accomplish that. My advice is, choose your sides wisely or who knows maybe next time the public smear campaign might coming looking for you.

The disappearing book promotion tour.

Sadly, she has become a political figure of sorts. She dropped her suit with the pageant, because she lied to pageant producers. And, she lied about her age at the time she made the tapes. She destroyed her credibility.

Meanwhile, I think the boyfriend who sold the tapes should be shot. And, Perez Hilton ……….. well, I am not going there.

SC.Charlie on November 14, 2009 at 11:04 AM

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. The Bible doesn’t say that you can’t masturbate, it just says that you can’t lust while doing it. So like Harpazo said, if you can get off without thinking about anyone else, you’re good. However, I don’t see that happening. And while I haven’t read all the CP articles, if she was making these tapes for her boyfriend, I’m sure there was some other things they were up to as well…

So, fantasizing about having sex with someone is not really any different than actually doing it in God’s eyes?

Since that seems to be your position, can you tell me how many babies are running around up in Imagination Land that were conceived because fantasizing males got the female objects of their fantasies pregnant?

The Bible also says not to cause another believer to fall into sin and I’m pretty sure sending your boyfriend softcore porn falls into that category.

Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

Her answer was great. But the endless capitalization on that one moment of strength and clarity when she has this sluttiness in her background was ridiculous. She wouldn’t have lost her title had she not gone on that publicity tour post pageant and simply tried to work with the directors and fulfill her contractual commitments. It’s her lack of humility that brought her down, and she still doesn’t see that. Parroting the “I never said I was perfect” is not humility. Its just an excuse for her embarrassing behavior that has rightly destroys her credibility as a moral arbiter.

1) privately sending vids of herself masturbating to one person (as far as we presently know – unless you have evidence to the contrary?) rises to the level of sluttiness? Gee, and my whole life I’ve thought “slut” meant a woman who was casually sexual with multiple partners. Silly me I guess!!

2)

Parroting the “I never said I was perfect” is not humility. Its just an excuse for her embarrassing behavior that has rightly destroys her credibility as a moral arbiter.

So someone who is imperfect loses automatically loses all credibility when speaking about moral issues? Did God Himself tell you that, or did you decide that all by your lonesome?

Follow the progression of His remarks in Matt 5:28-30. ” He who looks on a woman to lust after her in his heart… If your right eye makes you stumble tear it out…If your right hand makes you stumble…cut it off. I don’t need a theology degree to get the picture. Particularly in this pornographic age.

Has CP reached that point (yet) in Christian/conservative opinion or is her line of credit essentially limitless”?

It’s certainly not endless, but it helps her case that every indiscretion revealed so far has been something from her past. She should have revealed these things earlier, but it doesn’t mean she hasn’t changed.

Simona on November 14, 2009 at 12:02 PM

I am extrapolating from what you said that you have watered down what sluttiness is in a similar way some people freaked out about sexual relationships at the workplace to the point that harassment doesn’t have the same meaning it previously did.

Unless you can show me some indication that she was casually sexual with multiple partners, I’ll put you in the same boat as those sexually freaky people who changed the meaning of harassment. Which means I think you are fearful, prudish, and weird when it comes to sex.

Also, I think it’s very funny that you accuse me of “extrapolating an awful lot” when you are the one exagerratingly stating that conservatives have said what she did was a beautiful expression of love. Got any examples of them doing that at all? Because I certainly haven’t seen any, including CP herself, do that.

A woman with breast implants for the sake of vanity is quite clearly into creating a false image of what she really is. I’m afraid Carrie is just another plastic Californian with stars in her eyes.

deewhybee on November 14, 2009 at 1:24 PM

As a Christian myself I admit I wish that a self-avowed Christian like CP had not made these videos. She is beautiful, she is young, her looks have probably ‘determined her value,’ and opened doors her whole life and in this sex-obssessed culture, while dissappointing, it is not shocking that she made these lewd videos.

I have never defended her on the basis of her being a conservative or Christian icon but I do think it was brave of her to stand up for her convictions on gay-marriage, though it guaranteed that she would be aggressively investigated and maligned by the left. For those of you gleefully insisting that the ‘face of traditional marriage,’ has been so discredited in Carrie Prejean. Remember that this is the ghoulish and profanity belching face that will forever represent gay marriage in this same incident. You can’t have one without the other

Renae on November 14, 2009 at 1:27 PM

Come on now! This was WAY in the “past”.

I mean, she was only 20 yrs old when she was lying to get into the pageant. How could anyone keep up with what they were doing a whole 3 yrs ago? One has no idea what they are doing when they are 17 or even 20….at least nothing remotely responsible.

Plus, we’ve all made masturbation tapes for other’s viewing pleasures. Way more than seven. What a bunch of hypocrites.

We need to stand behind Carrie. Like she said, her books demonstrates all her “accomplishments” in her life. I would assume she means things like walking with a book on her head, boob jobs, smiling, teeth jobs, tanning, talking, standing in front of a camera, masturbation vids, etc… BeautyQueeniness is hard! This is the one we’ve been waiting for!!!
