Radar: More Carrie Prejean videos?

Such is the level of indignation on the right at the left’s nastiness towards her and those who might abet it that I got yelled at by a friend last night for posting this. Now Radar gives us something new, which isn’t the only claim out there that she’s made more than one “biggest mistake of my life.” I understand the defensiveness on her behalf — search the archives and you’ll see that I’ve written plenty in her favor — but I also get Ace’s exasperation:
My problem, instead, is that she has enlisted supporters, such as myself, to support her in her legal/PR campaign, on the theory that the California pageant had nothing legitimate to boot her out on, and that only anti-Christian animus could explain their behavior, when in fact… well, first the photos, which were racy, but I excused and defended. And then, well, the masturbation tape, which I kept quiet about.
And now… the other seven masturbation tapes…
She knew all this stuff was out there, she knew it was coming out, etc., and yet I and many of her supporters have been impressed into duty as her defenders through deception.
Because it wasn’t ever true that there was no reason, save anti-Christian animus, to kick her out of the pageant organization. A masturbation tape is, well. I’m not really offended by it but other pageant-hopefuls have gotten the boot for the same thing, and even a lot less.
So what do I feel about her? I feel she chumped me in order to advance her own legal interests…
Whether she has anything more interesting to say is up to her. But the Perez Hilton/pageant stuff? I really don’t care to hear how unfair it all was anymore. It was unfair, and a book deal was gotten out of that; that’s enough. A book deal can bandage up a lot of wounds.
I’m wondering if he’s in the minority on that or if sentiment is spreading that her defenders, in some way, have been had. I agree with him (and said so yesterday) that the left’s “hypocrisy” charge is overblown, for the simple reason that Christians don’t claim to be perfect. On the contrary, it’s the fact that they’re imperfect and prone to “stray from the path,” as we all are, that draws them towards redemption in the faith. There does, however, come a point where you stray so far from the path or so frequently that your commitment to it comes into question. For example, an atheist in a foxhole might be forgiven for saying a prayer in a moment of panic, while he’s being shot at. An atheist who prays any time he’s in a tough spot … simply ain’t much of an atheist. Has CP reached that point (yet) in Christian/conservative opinion or is her line of credit essentially limitless”?

Having said that, I don’t regret defending her though. Hilton gave cause for a worthy defense, but there is no need to continue to support her, or JtP, or Meghan McCain.

B.S. If the pageant had any notion of those tapes it would have mentioned them when they fired her. They DAMN SURE would have mentioned those tapes when they were hauled into court for discrimination in employment.
Therefore, those tapes were NOT known before she became more than just a pageant contestant. Presumably, because they bring a lot more money to the wielder.

I think the way she was treated after her answer (which most people in the country agree with) was horrible. That said I do not find it necessary to continue defending her over and over again after each new “scandal” breaks. My preference would be that she gracefully leave the limelight and some day when my daughter is old enough I will use this as cautionary tale for why nude photos and nude videos are really a bad idea.

She was foolish enough to send the videos to her boyfriend, who in turn cooperated in their release. The boyfriend should be horsewhipped. By which I mean, it would in fact be a lovely thing if he were horsewhipped.
Here’s a question:
None of these videos appear to have seen the light of day BEFORE Prejean was involved in reciprocal lawsuits with the Miss USA Pageant. If so, then these heretofore unreleased videos cannot serve as any basis for removing Miss Prejean from whatever position she had, nor could the videos be ethically & legally used in settlement negotiations (just as, e.g., non-public sexual telephone conversations, surreptitiously recorded, could not be so used.)
Saying the same thing again:
If the videos were non-public before the Pageant got their hands on them and/or if the Pageant itself was one of the parties conspiring to release the videos, then:
1) The videos cannot serve as the basis for a claim that Prejean violated any moral clause in her contract, and,
2) There’s a colorable case that principals in the Pageant and/or the Pageant’s lawyers committed the federal crime of blackmail/extortion by using the videos in settlement negotiations, i.e., by threatening to release the videos unless Prejean gives them something of monetary value, i.e., unless she drops or pairs back her legal claims.

This latest development has not shattered my world view, cause like, I never considered her a spokesperson for anything. It sucks that some well meaning people got duped and I blame HER for that.
Still, what Perez Hilton did, in my opinion, is far worse and typifies how far some gays will go to ramrod stuff down our throats.
If CP should have been disqualified for anything, it SHOULDN’T be for her OPINION about same sex marriage. On the other hand, maybe these tapes are legitimate grounds for disqualification (and I am not sure that they are.) If haven’t followed the latests rules for beauty contests.
She would have a stronger case about being victimized IF she had admitted she made a bunch of tapes when the FIRST one came out.
Of course my goggles are blurry cause she is such a babe and I am easily swayed by hotties.
