Video: The obligatory “Carrie Prejean melts down on Larry King” clip
posted at 5:34 pm on November 12, 2009 by Allahpundit
Yeah, I know, almost all of you have seen it already. But (a) there’s always that one hungover reader who just woke up, (b) it’s funny enough to warrant a second viewing anyway, and (c) it gives me an excuse to post the clip from her appearance on last night’s “Red Eye” too, when Gutfeld asks her to rate how hot the secret sex tape is on a scale from one to 10. Question: Is this the moment when the tide officially turned against CP, even among conservatives? Glenn Beck and his crew were riffing about her this morning and she ended up canceling a bunch of media appearances, presumably out of humiliation over the King fiasco. If it is the end, it’s probably the best thing that could happen to her. As Dan Calabrese says, Conservative Icon Prison is no place for a 22-year-old:
You and I think hypocrisy is when you say one thing and do another. Prejean upset the likes of Perez Hilton by saying that marriage is between a man and a woman. So what would make her a hypocrite? If she married another woman, of course. (Or if she, say, performed a wedding ceremony between the aforementioned Mr. Hilton and, er, maybe, Jon Gosselin.)
Then she would be a hypocrite as you and I define it. But that’s not the definition that applies here.
The definition that applies here works like this: She is a conservative and a Christian. Conservatives and Christians are judgmental prudes who a) claim to be perfect; and b) judge everyone else for not being perfect. So it doesn’t matter that she never denounced topless photos. It doesn’t matter that she never denounced “sex tapes.” Every prudish, judgmental belief that has ever been imagined by a critic of Christians and conservatives is hereby ascribed to Carrie Prejean. Anything she has ever done in contradiction of these imagined beliefs thereby proves her hypocrisy.
Conclusion: Gay marriage is awesome. And all because TMZ has a video of Carrie Prejean masturbating. It’s good to be alive.
Ain’t it the truth. To balance your reading, Big Hollywood has an interview of Prejean by Lynn Vincent, a.k.a. Sarah Palin’s collaborator on “Going Rogue.” I recommend it, but more for Vincent’s introduction about being demagogued as a raging homophobe by Andrew Sullivan than for the interview itself. Don’t take it personally, Lynn. It was just your turn.

One look at Carrie and you KNOW there is a God…and a really good surgeon!

This was great. This was no meltdown. Go Carrie Prejean!
FYI, I don’t even consider myself a conservative, more classic liberal or “libertarian”, and have no strong opinions on gay marriage either way. More conservatives should do this, just say f*** it and stop playing their games. And she did it while keeping her composure. No meltdown at all.

Socialism can’t succeed among people of faith, so every socialist/marxist/communist regime has to marginalize Christianity/Mormonism/Judaism. So it is understandable why statists marginalize Christians, it is stupid for conservative atheists to do so.

Amen, and its stupid for people of faith pick up stones against each other…during this critical time, there is no time for a civil war.

Wow, I’m stunned by this complete lack of reverence!!
Just as stunned as I was to watch the Larry Peasant interview (visual only), and not see a Ms. Prejean “obligatory meltdown”. Another a crock of liberal media bullsh*t courtesy of AP.

Non-violent (I hope) revolution, maybe, against the marxists, but not civil war with each other. If we don’t hang together we shall surely hang separately. Hey, if conservative or RINO atheists want to bash Christians, and if Christians want to bash Mormons (or vice versa), I would ask that they would at least wait until we’ve pushed the marxists out of power! Hello?

What dumb people like you don’t see is that you are blaming her for being victimized by abusive people, just like the proverbial girl who gets raped supposedly because her clothing was too revealing.
You are sick and don’t even realize it.

Leave your religion alone? You have a lot of nerve. Mormons (like yourself) need to leave Christianity ALONE and STOP perverting the Gospel of Christ! This is what angers me about Mormons. They are tricky and deceptive. In the 1800′s Joseph Smith said an angel named Moroni showed him The Book of Mormon written on gold plates in a language he called Reformed Egyptian. He said that he translated these plates into English. The gold plates are now NOT available, and the Reformed Egyptian language is NOT known. After finishing the book, Smith said, “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” (History of the Church, 4:461). Joseph Smith didn’t stop there. He then felt the Christian Bible needed correction too. Leave your religion alone? Leave your religion alone?? Are you serious! You’re gonna stand before God on Jugment day and pay for what you’re doing.

I agree, and thanks for sharing. That was a very interesting story.

Do they teach a dirty mouth in Mormon school too?

God’s Word – the Holy Bible.
I get my authority from God Himself. Jesus said, “I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19
Where did John the Baptist get his authority to spread the Gospel? “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:1-2
It’s NOT all faith, that’s not true. Let me tell you how you can know God exists. When you look at a building, how do you know there was a builder? Obviously, the building is proof of a builder. Right? Same thing when you look at creation (ie, an eye, birds, and trees). Creation is proof of a Creator.
The Bible will prove itself to you through it’s prophecy.
Earlier you demanded, “What authority do you have to be the judge of who is a Christian and who isn’t!” Read what you said above. *raises eyebrow*
Don’t get mad at me for calling you a heretic. I’m just telling you what the Bible says. Jesus Himself told you, “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30). You choose to ignore Him and listen to Jospeh Smith and his demon Moroni instead.
