Video: Media’s new favorite Republican breaks her silence

Naturally, not a single question is asked about how she repaid the GOP’s $900,000 investment in her campaign by endorsing a Democrat — not even when she mentions the need for a “unified party.” In fact, she actually has the nerve to say, “We need leadership that’s going to make sure the party is strong going forward.” Leadership … like the party bosses who decided that what a reliably Republican district really needed was a left-of-center moderate?

Note her emphasis on knowledge of local issues trumping party ideology, which was her one and only advantage over Hoffman. According to a conservative pollster, his weak handle on district concerns really did end up hurting him. As, of course, did her endorsement.

Video: Media’s new favorite Republican disposable toy breaks her silence

ThePrez on November 11, 2009 at 9:31 PM

Where are pictures of the board that put her in? Anyone? Anyone interview them? Let’s get rid of them as well.

Bambi on November 11, 2009 at 8:22 PM

BINGO!

That IS what they have to do. Throw out the county heads that chose her to run.

If they had chosen Doug from the beginning, he would have won that election. Heck, they would have probably won with one of the other two guys too.

Sapwolf on November 11, 2009 at 9:31 PM

“Sssssssssscooooooooozzzzzzzzaaaaaaaffffffaaaaaavvvvvaaaaa!!!”

Daemonocracy on November 11, 2009 at 9:42 PM

She looks like she went 15 w/Apollo Creed last week.

alexwest on November 11, 2009 at 9:42 PM

Dede, your 15 minutes are up….move along now

There were several other options, even besides Hoffman. I would guess any one of them would have been a better choice.

alexwest on November 11, 2009 at 9:44 PM

I hear Scozzafava is going to move into movies…

… she is set to green-light a remake of this movie, playing the star of course.

Let your imaginations run wild…

Seven Percent Solution on November 11, 2009 at 9:45 PM

Scozzafave spelled backward is Ava fa zzocs.

Coincidence? I think not!

bitsy on November 11, 2009 at 9:49 PM

Martyr.

Sea-hag. Go run for office in Maine.

ARRRRRGH! My mind’s eye…how do I bleach out that image?

ZeeMI on November 11, 2009 at 10:24 PM

Moral of the story? Run primaries, and get all this out of the way before the final vote.

Voyager on November 11, 2009 at 10:34 PM

Hah. I was in that very room where the RINO was speaking from yesterday.

Video: Media’s new favorite Republican breaks her silencewind

Okay, seriously. I am going to bed now.

bitsy on November 11, 2009 at 11:13 PM

She is a despicable bold faced liar. A wolf in sheeps clothing. Or, wildebeest in sheeps clothing… take your pick.

SilverStar830 on November 11, 2009 at 11:16 PM

I would say she’s just being a media whore. But to compare Scozzafava to a whore is an insult to every respectable lampost-leaning, purse-swinging, gum-chomping, fishnet-stocking-wearing, disease-carrying prostitute trying to earn an honest living in the world.

UltimateBob on November 11, 2009 at 11:34 PM

“Left-of-center moderate”?

Hmmmm.

Pro-abortion? Check.
Pro-gay marriage? Check.
Union card check? Check.
High taxes and big government? Check.
Cap and Tax? Check.
Obamacare? Refused to answer question.

Can anyone name an issue on which she is a moderate?

David Mickelson on November 11, 2009 at 11:45 PM

what a fat and ugly pig this woman .. Good riddance. she reminds me of Rosie O Donnell

Don’t forget that she had the endorsement of the Daily Koz and ACORN. And when push came to shove, she ended up backing the Democrat. What does all that tell you?

UltimateBob on November 12, 2009 at 12:06 AM

Wow, I thought they couldn’t get uglier or fatter than Meggie Mac.

nelsonknows on November 12, 2009 at 2:33 AM

“We can all agree on core principals” Uh huh. I didn’t know it was a core Republican principle to endorse the Democrat candidate. This broad is as crazy as she is ugly. I can’t believe the party blew a million on this piece of crap.

echosyst on November 12, 2009 at 3:05 AM

I’m appalled at you people. Attacking her appearance is completely out of line. I don’t agree with her views, but my problem is with with the party officials who choose her in the first place and with the process they put in place (no primary).

ajackson on November 12, 2009 at 7:05 AM

Notice the CNN logo on the clip? CNN has now descended below “pathetic” to rock bottom. While CNN was descending, people shook their heads in pity. Now, they snicker.

As a PCO in the Republican Party in King County Washington (Seattle Area). I can tell you that the rank and file members of the party are principles conservatives. The party leadership are a bunch of moderates.
.
We must get back to true conservative principles.

The Rock on November 12, 2009 at 8:40 AM

Look, coziness with the Agit-Prop Media is part of what makes RINOs RINOs. Can’t let it stop us from cleaning house. Just assume that for every RINO scalp that is taken, the Media will have a new “go to” Republican. Big Deal.

james23 on November 12, 2009 at 8:57 AM

I don’t say this about most people but I really think a pair of glasses would be an improvement for her since it looks like she is wearing them anyway.

PrincipledPilgrim on November 12, 2009 at 9:04 AM

She expresses concern for “party unity”. I wonder if she imagines endorsing the Democrat was an act of party unity.

Oh, but it is! Unity for the Democrats.

ajackson on November 12, 2009 at 7:05 AM

I agree. If you refer to my posts on this thread from last night around midnight, you’ll see that I was attacking her character (which is fair game, IMO) and not her appearance.

UltimateBob on November 12, 2009 at 10:06 AM

BS The only local issues she knew more than Hoffman were those that concerned her husband’s union buddies. Hoffman lives in what the district has traditionally been, though the Democrats have been relentlessly gerrymandering it for over 50 years. Hoffman runs three successful businesses in the district. Scozzafava’s endorsement ensured every single one of her supporters would go to Bill Owens, and that was enough to hand victory to the Democrats. She is a backstabber.

alliebobbitt on November 12, 2009 at 10:25 AM

I know this about Scuzzafavor…but who’s the dude in the picture?

LtE126 on November 12, 2009 at 12:15 PM

Why can’t she be a nice Blue Blood Republican and go drink bleach?

Just sayin….

ajackson on November 12, 2009 at 7:05 AM

People’s appearance is merely how they appear. In Scozzafava’s[sin] case, extremely bloated; like Shrek.
