There’s a serious problem with term limits in Washington. New members of Congress, by necessity, are captive to something far worse than lobbyists… experienced capitol staffers and lifetime agency bureaucrats, who have their own powers and agendas.

Indeed, what Congress actually votes on is mostly researched and written by this elite crowd, with the help of lobbyists, for sure.

In fact, a lobbyists dream scenario would be a constant revolving door of voting members, where they could focus almost entirely on lobbying staff and bureaucrats. And, they wouldn’t have to contribute as much to elections, which is a good third of their overhead.

I’d far prefer term limits on the non-elected, who do far more damage than even the worse elected member can do, coupled with an active, informed electorate who’ll kick the bad ones out every cycle.

He made a third great point. The man is on a roll. Reporter from his hometown paper was told at his doc’s office only 3 H1N1 shots available. Could not give it to him despite being in the over 65 high risk group. Must Call County Health Dept. They said no,……only children and those pregnant. Observation: Kathleen Sebelius directs distribution, “rationing” and this amounts to “death panel” bureaucratic decisions of a botched program already. So what if you are over 65 and get it? Too bad…. Imagine calling your County Health Dept, then HHS on anything….

Nelson’s statement said “strong public option”, an intentional qualifier…….he will easily be bought off to support a “weak” one, and Lieberman will simply get the insurance industry in his state paid off and he will be on board. Trust me, it is a done deal. Snowe will be a cupcake.

It is about ‘spreading the wealth’ and control. They will do anything being this close. Polls be damned. Soros is going after the ones in the house that voted against it.
