Who said leave Snowe alone? Yes, of course. Having HER there is better than turning it over to a Liberal. It’s NOT like she votes with the other side of the aisle on ANY of the MAJOR legislation that is an afront to Conservative principals. It’s NOT like her ONE vote gives Democrats cover to call the Agenda BIPARTISAN and claim those against it are EXTREMISTS! Yes, having her in there is a NET GAIN for us, not a NET LOSS! /sarc ***

You have to keep your perspective! Snowe and Collins held the line on the “public option.” They’re generally ok on judges. I don’t mind having them in those seats, although I admit I wouldn’t want the RNC spending a great deal of money helping to get them elected. They are the best you’re going to do in those states. Better to have someone in there who votes for you 20% of the time than 0% of the time, especially if you don’t have to pay for it.

And who cares if Obama calls a bill bipartisan because one GOP person voted for it? Nobody in their right mind believes that the Porkulus bill was bipartisan.

Why are the republicans in maine so down on Snowe? It’s not like some ultra conservative candidate will steal that seat away from the dems in the general.

You’re exactly right. I’m a conservative and I admit to getting angry when I see Snowe and Collins moving the needle ever-so-slightly to the right on leftist bills and then voting for them. But at the end of the day, Snowe and Collins are relative centrists, and they will vote for the Republican for Senate Majority Leader. What’s your best alternative to that? A super-liberal Democrat.

I would very much like to go on a RINO hunt, but want to do it in places like South Carolina, Florida, Arizona, and other states where a serious Republican has a shot at winning. RINOs in California and New England don’t offend me because real Republicans can’t possibly win there.

Scozzafava isn’t a victim. The victims are the Republicans who contributed $900,000. to her campaign. She’s an identity thief, a con-artist…. a Democrat, running under a banner that’s not her own.

This isn’t about “Moderates v. Conservatives”. It’s about the very core of Republicanism. Republicans understand that this country is a Democratic REPUBLIC, rooted in Law. They understand that their powers are not unlimited despite whatever populist issue they’re confronted with.

Pure Democracy is “mob rule”. It’s “two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for lunch”. It has no history of success and has no standing under our Constitution. So, it doesn’t much matter what your constituents want if what they want is beyond the scope of your authority to provide.

You can’t be a “Moderate Republican” unless you’re first… a “Republican”. Scozzafava can snivel all she wants about big mean Conservatives, but at the bottom line… she’s the one who chose to ignore the core precepts of Republicanism.

What a toolbox she is.

2. a person who realizes they can not win and spitefully assists the opposition or enemy
