D.C. sniper executed
posted at 9:52 pm on November 10, 2009 by Allahpundit
Honestly, it’s amazing that there haven’t been copycats. With a little rifle training and a few modified vehicles, a cell of, say, eight men could wreak havoc potentially for months. Instead, they’re still messing around with high explosives. Well, most of them.
The time of death? 9:11 p.m.
Muhammad, 48, a man who directed what many law enforcement officials consider one of the worst outbreaks of crime in the nation’s history, died in Virginia’s death chamber while relatives of his victims looked on. Unlike his victims, however, Muhammad knew when and how he was going to die. He and Jamaican immigrant Lee Boyd Malvo, then 17, killed 10 people in the Washington area during a terrifying October 2002 rampage; they also have been linked to shootings in several other states.
State authorities escorted a denim and flip-flop clad Muhammad into a small room at the Greensville Correctional Center and strapped him to a cross-shaped table. He was injected with a series of lethal drugs until he died…
Despite scores of witnesses and hundreds of pieces of evidence — the sum of which pointed directly at Muhammad and Malvo and led to capital murder convictions — law enforcement officials have not pinned down a solid motive for the shootings and cannot say for sure who specifically fired the fatal shots.
Really? No idea at all?
Update: “He basically watched my dad breathe his last breath. Why shouldn’t I watch his last breath?”

I have argued for years that the next 9/11 won’t be a 9/11, but small cells, maybe even individuals, spread out in cities with firearms. Think India, but in a half dozen places all at once. And trying to stop it, given the reluctance of law enforcement to act too soon, would be all but impossible.
And while I’m generally against the death penalty, I’m glad this guy is gone.

I just commented at another site about how can someone be prolife and support the death penalty. I wrote “I defend innocent life”. And the death penalty saves up to 18 innocent lives according to a number of studies.
Read a comment to Ed’s old site: http://tinyurl.com/yd2yrpf.
His execution saved innocent lives.

Law enforcement officials – as well as DHS, the FBI, and the Military – are playing a very, very dangerous game.
Eventually, ordinary people are going to balk when their “protectors” keep insisting that a duck is not a duck. By refusing to state the painfully obvious, law enforcement sacrifices the foundation upon which their power rests: the faith of the general populace.
And what, really, have they gained in return?

They should go back to hanging murderers, and do it in public.
The only way the death penalty is going to be effective is when they make it public and graphic. A body hanging from a scaffold is a much more powerful image than a man lying on a gurney with a needle in his arm.
At least they killed him within a somewhat reasonable amount of time.
Joe Pyne on November 10, 2009 at 10:09 PM
Bout friggin time. I’m not for the death penalty as a Catholic. (But, I’m for him digging a hole and having to live in it with no medical care with a Bible and letting nature do its thing.)
7 years to get justice for the victims’ families.
That is a terrible injustice in itself.

As others have stated, I’m not a proponent of the death penalty, but when Jihad strikes, I’m in favor of it.
In our PC culture, Islamic extremists have the green light to do as they please, as the Koran dictates, and to the warped delight of other terrorists.
Until it’s culturally sanctioned to be honest instead of politically correct, Muhammad, Hasan, and other like-minded terrorists will continue to kill “infidels” on American soil. Team Barry and the MSM will simply pay lip service to what in their perspective is just another plane crash or boating accident. Unfortunate, but no big deal.

smokinjoe on November 10, 2009 at 10:14 PM
Another case where PC assisted the murderer.
I remember the great police chief Charles Moose. Yes sir.
It didn’t matter how many witnesses kept reporting seeing dark skinned suspicious men, the only people ever stopped were white men in white vans. I remember reading a report of an officer who possibly saw the car, it had a rag stuffed in a hole in the trunk, and yet this officer did not stop the car because they were looking for a white man in a white van.
Then, after the shooting that took place at the Lowes store, I believe it was Lowes, police released drawings of the weapons that a witnesses had seen. I knew that was strange. Why was it considered reliable for a witness to see the weapon, but not reliable for the witness to see the actual skin color of a suspect???
It’s been awhile, but that whole affair was not handled well. It took a trucker, average Americans to bring it all to an end.
Anne Coulter’s book Treason had a few good things to say about Mr Moose as well.

So Muhammed and Hasan – the government and the media can’t figure out their motives. However, they do believe that McVeigh acted due to his Christianity…even though he wasn’t a Christian.
It is amazing how much our elites have institutionalized certain types of lies so that they can continue to believe as they do.
This would make for a great Twilight Zone episode, no?
