Honor our veterans: Project Valour-IT
posted at 3:35 pm on November 9, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
This week, we celebrate Veterans Day in the midst of war. Eight years of fighting terrorists abroad has wounded many of our men and women in the armed forces, some profoundly enough to make it difficult for them to reintegrate into society without the assistance of the adaptive technology that will allow them to become productive back home. Soldiers Angels has its annual Project Valour-IT fundraising drive to provide that technology to as many of these veterans as possible, and the blogosphere has responded by raising more than $75,000!
But we need your assistance. We had hoped to raise $125,000 this year, with an understanding that 10.2% unemployment would make that a challenge. We have two days left in the contest; I’m on the Air Force team this year, and you can help wounded veterans receive adaptive-technology laptops to help them regain their productivity by donating now:
It’s difficult to think of a more worthy cause than helping those who lost so much in defending America to return to a normal life. If you can, please donate as much as possible, and help us meet our goal.

At the end of 60 Minutes last night, that old kook Andy Rooney talked about how he was a Veteran and didn’t like the term or how we celebrated Veterans day. He rambled about how war is horrible, why do we celebrate it and instead we should have a World Peace day or something. It was a bunch of BS and smeone who served in WWII should know that those who are unwilling to fight will always be subject to those who are but he spewed this sotryland idealistic nonsense anyway. The death panels are keeping a close eye on this old man because he clearly becoming senile.

Timing is everything. My students will be collecting donations for our annual Bibles for Troops tomorrow & Wednesday. Last year we sent 7 cases, but decided to send 2 this year and look for a worthy cause for the rest of the $. Project Valour-IT, Air Force it shall be. Glad we can help.

Speaking as a Vietnam veteran, one can only hope that the Army brass at Ft. Hood will have the decency to award the Purple Heart to every service member killed or injured in this horrible enemy attack against our troops committed by an armed islamic terrorist.

Ed’s trying to get an Air Force win but it belongs to Army this year. Don’t you think so, Ed?
Go to the link, select Army and donate there.
