A frined of mine lost her job at Cox about 10 months ago. She attended free training classes and obtained her ‘energy audit’ certificate. She can audit a home or building and calculate the cost of making the building ‘greener’, and estimate the savings from the improvements.

She got that certificate 6 months ago and has been looking for a ‘green job’ ever since. No luck…simply no jobs in that industry exist at this time, at least not in Phoenix.

It amazes me (depresses me, angers me, makes me want to… but I digress) how the government can at least lend verbiage toward their understanding that small businesses create jobs, and then place billions upon billions in pork, while the aforementioned small business dudes and dudettes scuffle for pence – and must jump through innumerable bureaucratic hurdles for the right to do so.
